It's happened to all of us. Disobedience on our part leads to a sense of frustration and a desire to 'make it right'. Because we feel that we have 'let God down', we overcompensate by 'doing more' for the Lord. In an effort to 'right our wrongs' and please God, we engage in 'fig leaf' righteousness, which somehow and some way make us 'feel better'. Herein lies the deception. But is this the goal, to just feel better? Or are we to simply to trust Him that we are forgiven? Join us as we study the subtle danger of fig leaves in the Christian life and how they serve to move us away from the Cross of Christ.
Jesus prayed that we would be one. His prayer has been answered; organically and spiritually we ARE one in Him. At the same time, scripture speaks clearly about the possibility of schisms in the body, and also about what happens when we bite and devour one another. So the question becomes, while we are one in the most important sense, are we one practically? Are we living, breathing and behaving as one—all things considered?

No doubt we've all heard the phrase, 'A mind is a terrible thing to waste'; and while this can be the case for the unsaved person, it should not be so for believers. This is because scripture explicitly states that HAVE the mind of Christ (1 Cor.2:16). However, this does not mean that we have license to live slipshod, raggedy lives, believing that we can listen to or observe whatever we please without it affecting us. With all the talk about the revival we need, there is another sort of revival that we don't need--one we need to avoid. What revival is this? It is the revival of the sin nature. The fact is that unless we approach and manage it properly, the sin nature has the capability of not just frustrating us, but also overwhelming us.
