80% of all start-ups fail before they even begin. We discuss 10 strategies that will assist you to avoid being one of those awful statistics. As we have discussed many times before, having a great product or concept is only about 15% of being successful. Having the money to do what you need to do is another 15%. Unfortunately, too many entrepreneurs forget about the most important 70%. The reality is that if you get the 30% right, even with a fantastic project, you will likely fail. However if you get the 70%, even with an ordinary project, you will likely succeed. For some reason it is very difficult to convince entrepreneurs of this. We discuss why employers can't find good employees. We argue it’s not a skills shortage at all. Rather it’s a shortage in the number of employers prepared to invest in training their workforce. We also talk about how to get employees to become innovative, to think outside the box.

We also have extremely popular ‘listeners emails’ segment where I answer any questions that you may have.
In today’s show we discuss why the US economy is about to rebound in a big way. Kodak in bankruptcy, and two of the big mistakes that the majority of companies make. The first is failure to realize that business is about the customer, not them. The customer doesn’t care a damn about the company. So, look at the Newspapers, TV, and Radio etc. every advertisement is about the companies. How stupid are they? The second mistake is that most companies have no clue who their customer is…… no wonder research shows 95% of all advertising is wasted. Today’s guests are great.
Businesses whether large or small are being affected by the state of our economy……. Or are they? Today I address a number of issues that businesses tell me are their primary concerns. Getting and keeping customers, the economy, getting the right advice and many others. There is a trillion dollars circulating in the US today, so the overall state of the economy should not affect your business at all. Don’t contract your business because the 24 hour news cycle tells you the economy stinks. More millionaires are made in recessions than in good times. Just go out there, be aggressive and get new clients.

These are the keys to success in any endeavor, be it business, sport, entertainment or any other field. In all areas of endeavor the differences in the skill sets of the people participating are very similar. The person who becomes the most successful wins the gold medal, wins the Oscar or the chess title, is the one who wants to win the most; the one with the most passion, dedication, commitment and perseverance. This show discusses each of these qualities and provides great examples. I also interview an entertainer and a gold medalist who epitomizes these qualities.

Can America survive the deep interrelationship between its politicians and its major corporations and the absolute greed of both?
We keep printing money while piling up trillions of dollars in debt and devaluing the currency day by day against gold, oil and almost every other currency.
We have major debt crisis, entitlements are exploding, our rights are being eroded and through campaign financing and the cozy interrelationship between corporations and politicians, major corporations run every aspect of government.
When are we going to have the guts to say enough?

A lot has been said about Multilevel Marketing both for and against. Lots of people have made lots of money and strongly embrace it, others including economists, claim it is a very flawed system.
I look at both sides of the argument and determine that in reality it is not much different in performance, success and failure than other channels of marketing.
My issue is the way MLM is marketed to attract distributors and the results that are claimed by its exponents.
A controversial subject, and if you’re considering MLM or just interested in a good debate - a program you must listen to.

Only about 5% of businesses and entrepreneurs seeking capital actually raise funding. Angel investors say there is plenty of capital out there but there is a lack of good projects. That is rubbish! There are good projects, but most of the submissions I receive for investment are not worth the paper they're written on. A business plan won't cut it. You need a specific type of presentation. I will tell you what needs to be in the proposal, and what form it should take. Tip 1: Most entrepreneurs think that they are CEO's but couldn't run a meat raffle. This kills the majority of proposals. Investors wouldn't lose their money if they did their homework correctly. I'll give clues for both the entrepreneur and the investor. My guests are Jay Turo, CEO of Growthink, one of America's largest strategic advisory and investment banking firms in the entrepreneurial space, and Rick Kellard, Emmy Award winning producer and writer. Also - some great marketing screw ups and I answer listener's questions.
Research shows that between 85% and 95% of all marketing and advertising does not work. In the US over $100 billion is spent per annum and some $90 billion is wasted! Why do we keep doing it? There is a better way! Over the past twenty years there’s been monumental changes in the number and variety of marketing vehicles, the viewing, listening and communication patterns of the target audience, and rapid changes in technology. Yet, most agencies and their clients do not understand what marketing is, far less how to use the new media; what works, what doesn't in today’s environment. I’ll tell you what works and what doesn't.
I have two great guests, Tim Draper, The Prince of Silicon Valley, the creator of viral marketing and the force behind Hotmail and Skype; and Mary Bird, former entertainer and writer who worked with Gene Simmons from KISS and is getting amazing publicity with a product called Car Masutra.
