Now more than 50 years later, many of us still celebrate this holiday but it has changed over the years. So on this episode, we will discuss whether or not you celebrate Christmas and Kwanzaa. She firmly holds the belief that her son has been falsely accused and convicted of armed robbery and home invasion in Greensboro, Georgia. I have seen how the criminal justice system has impacted folks lives from arrest to release which motivated me to launch the AADM community service and bailout support program. For the past few years, I have advocated against mass incarceration, police brutality and for racial justice. During COVID-19, I found a creative way to help folks complete their community service which included sharing their personal story regarding life on probation or being incarcerated. We can all learn from some else's experience and gain a deeper understanding on how the criminal justice system impacts someone's life. So take a few moments to listen to Victoria Prone's story.
My goal is to reduce recidivism rates, dismantle mass incarceration, and demand justice for folks who have been mistreated or harmed by police. Check out our website www.aadmovement.org

For years black people hair styles have been rejected by status quo in the work place, forcing women and men of color to process, cut their hair or change their identity to acquire employment or to gain acceptance. The good news is things may be changing. February 2019, Nipsey purchased Marathon Clothing store, prior to open his clothing store, he also launched Destination Crenshaw, a new arts project, open-air museum and outdoor art and culture center celebrating black Los Angeles.
Donated school clothing and shoes to and funded the renovation of a Crenshaw elementary school’s playground and basketball courts.
Established Too Big To Fail as part of a partnership with Vector90 which led to the opening of a coworking space for a STEM initiative for local youth and the list continues. So he not only gave back to his community, he made wise investments that could help break the cycle of poverty within his family.

Lets talk about love across color lines. Did you know that just 52 years ago it was illegal for black and white couples to get married? It wasn't until 1967, during the "Loving vs Virginia" case when the court ruled it was unconstitutional to restrict inter-racial marriages. This case involved a white man and a black woman who fell in love and decided to get married even if it meant death or imprisonment. They risked their lives to be together and because of their love and conviction for each other, they changed history.
Prior to this case, it was illegal for people to marry across color lines, to love each other freely despite race and historically black men would have been killed or brutally punished if they got caught with a white woman. So I decided to have this conversation to see how people felt about interracial dating in America today.

Mokah Speaks: Breaking the Cycle of Discrimination and Racism. Can the cycle of discrimination be broken? Despite what people want to believe racism and discrimination never ended and racial incidents continue to happen every day not just in Starbucks, Waffle House, Santa Monica College or even more recently in Alpharetta when Officer James Legg dragged a 65-year-old black lady out of the car because she would not sign a ticket. From my perspective, these incidents occurred because of racial biases and my question is can the cycle of discrimination and racism be broken?
