CHECK OUT THE MOON .
(M Olson) .
Check out the moon moon moon .
like an eye in the sky .
or like a b-b-balloon .
on the fourth of july .
Check out the moon moon moon .
on a blanket of stars .
we’re coming’ soon soon soon .
then onto Venus and Mars
Moon I love ya
When you're smiling my fears are all gone
Moon above ya . .
The heaven of stars cheer you on
The glowin’ moon moon moon .
she make you feel all right .
stretches and yawns like a goon .
as she goes nitey-night
We’re gonna dance dance dance .
with disco balls for stars .
we’ll use the suns for drums .
and moonlight strings for guitars .
Moon you’re a momma .
there’s no drama when daylight is done .
Moon I know you love me .
you're part of me and we are all one .

"Who Knows" Performed and produced by Martin. Recorded on a balcony overlooking the lake and mountains 2014. Yeah!..
WHO KNOWS
(M.O.) .
who knows the reason for living..
why there's a sun in the sky..
all that we need is around us..
but all i can think of is why..
live for each other..
love before you die..
who knows the reason why....
where are the miracles from heaven..
when will the last kingdom fall..
where is the king who will lead us..
and tell us the answer to it all..
why is there something instead of nothing..
if the whole thing’s alive how did it get here..
are humans inadequate to grasp it..
the answer is perfectly unclear..
live for each other..
love before you die..
who knows the reason why

Song written by Martin Olson, Dan Povenmire, Swampy Marsh & Robert Hughes. Produced & arranged by Martin Olson. (This track doesn't include the final drum track.) Film Red Carpet Premiere: April 6. 2012, Las Vegas, Nevada
An unpleasant song about a very upbeat and perky serial killer.
THE MURDERER (M. Olson)
walking and whistling feeling fine...
everyone can see something's on my mind
crouched down in the bushes by the pale moonlight.
no one knows that i've got to kill tonight.
i felt it building up for a week or two .
i love that feeling finding someone new .
crickets chirping in the woods make me feel all right .
no one knows i've got to kill tonight .
i went to the shrink it felt good to confess .
but i told him i knew his kids' school address .
plus my insurance kicked in so it's all right.
'cause no one knows that i've got to kill tonight.
walking and whistling feeling fine .
everyone knows something's on my mind .
up to 17 and no end in sight.
no one knows that i've got to kill tonight
Mark Karafilis at Disney issued a challenge to our songwriting group to write an old-timey song that included the phrase "slugging vampires." I had a nylon string guitar handy and sent him this.
CHEESE STEAK STAND .
(M. Olson).
i got a cheese steak stand in philly.
the provolone affects my sleep.
i dreamed that jesus tried to kill me.
trampled me with a flock of sheep.
every night them sons of bitches.
crawl right outa my pillow case.
them monkeys werewolves and them witches.
take a bite out of my face.
every night i'm slugging vampires.
with cole slaw on my breath.
staring out from the campfire.
at the gaping maw of deaf.
every night they feast on me.
gotta cut down on that chili.
brings out the beast in me.
at my cheese steak stand in philly
Written w songwriter Lydia Ooghe. Produced by M. Olson. - .
SADLY .
(olson, ooghe) .
sadly all i want is you and i want you so badly.
wanting is all I can do .
sadly all i want is you Im as blue as blue can be.
because you dont want me, too .
Ive become a monster under your bed .
Happy to cry myself to sleep .
And you are heaven dreaming on overhead .
about someone else instead of me .
sadly all i want is you and i want you so badly.
wanting is all I can do .
sadly all i want is you and I want you badly .
too bad I met you .
gladly I would forget you .
sadly theres no forgetting you
Kind of an existential children's song? The mix on the middle part is too busy, but kinda works on headphones.
.
INTERESTING RIDE.
(M. Olson).
well i was born and my mom would say .
you'd better have fun before it goes away .
though nothing seems permanent .
i look up at the firmament .
and wish there was a map or a guide .
but it looks like an interesting ride .
. well i was born and my parents said .
you'd better have fun before you're dead .
the most obvious thought .
is make the best of what you've got .
and you'll know that at least you tried .
so buckle up it's an interesting ride .
.
. working minimum wage behind a wheel barrow
you think of yourself as an egyptian pharaoh
dreaming of a trip to rio de janeiro
. when you hit it rich
. you try to make sense of the world around you .
the sights and sounds everywhere seem to drown you .
when you're looking for someone to love and ground you .
but who and when and which .
it's hard to get through it but we all seem to do it .
.
. well i was born and my mom would say .
you'd better have fun before it goes away .
since nothing seems permanent .
i look up at the firmament .
and wish there was a map or a guide .
but it looks like an interesting ride .
hell yes it's an interesting ride .
Story in song about a musical archaeologist who unearths the bones of an ancient magician. SKELETONE.(M. OLSON)..
In ancient Matzapan. .
a mystic ruled the land.
in tablets only known as Magi Skeletone. .
A poor musicologist asked if sound persists .
underneath the ground in etheric sound? .
With arcane devices scanned moors of Matzapan .
and one night alone his screen revealed a tone .
acoustically unknown. .
He dug through rock and stone .
and found remains in bone .
of the mystic Skeletone. .
Skeletone's remains he put on a pallet .
used the rib cage to hit with mallets. .
The sound transforms his pestle into a chalice.
his meagre hut changed into a palace .
The vibrations pierced the veil in subatomic scale.
a mystic harmony unleashed the cosmic key. .
Skeletone, Skeleton, Skeletone!
Voc/instruments/arrangement: Martin Olson.
A Comedy Show Tune I wrote and produced for a film--which wasn't released! But at least i got to sing like a pirate. At the end, you can hear my eight-year-old daughter Olivia singing like a pirate with me.
