Ouch. Every possible thing that could have gone wrong offensively happened. The inability to support our starting pitchers and getting swept by the Astros in the ALCS had to be rock bottom. Here we go again. I feel like we've been here before, don't you? Back to Houston, and at this point, it feels like it relies on two things: non-homerun offense and our bullpen. There is literally nothing else to talk about. Aaron Judge has tied the single-season home run record in Toronto, and it's about damn time. Will he beat it? That's what matters. Gerrit Cole also put on a show, and so did the whole club by securing the AL East. Pretty great week to be a Yankee fan if you ask me! Follow us on Instagram @pinstripe.podcast

Is there really anything else to talk about? (Yes, of course, there is but CMON) Aaron Judge has reached 60, and we are now just waiting for the last magic one. A remarkable season that just needs the last cherry on top to make it seem unbelievable. But don't count out the other Yankees! Our duo goes through who has really seemed to stand out this week and what on EARTH is going on with bench boy Hicks. It's an episode you don't want to miss during a season we are all so lucky to be experiencing

View Details

Could the Yankees be back on track? With a strong week from the offense, the Yankees looked like the team we knew before the month of August. Gleyber's swing is really working again, and Judge continues to rake, even when he isn't going yard. The impending debut of Harrison Bader is teasing us all with the future of not seeing Aaron Hicks pretend to play baseball again. How many home runs do you think Judge will hit this week? the update will be on our Instagram @pinstripe.podcast

This week was a roller coaster of emotions for Yankee fans. First, there was rock bottom against Tampa, then there was IKF learning he's allowed to hit the ball OVER the fence, the list of IL additions, and then Gerrit Cole shoving 14Ks. While all this is happening, Aaron Judge continued to "Hard Carry" the team and put them on his back. Scotty and Lexi discuss how it is impossible to name anyone else MVP and banter about god knows what else in the baseball sphere. Follow us on Instagram @ pinstripe.podcast

It has finally happened... after an abysmal West Coast trip, the Yankees are looking to bounce back, and it seems like the answer was to call up Oswald Peraza. So we started talking about the Seattle series, but we got a little sidetracked everywhere. It's a messy episode where we talk about Abreu, Matty Carp, Stanton, and Chris Sale just to get crazy. It's kind of a clusterfuck, but ya know what, we had a great time doing it, and we hope you had fun listening.

We're through the trade deadline, let's talk about what we think is one of the best trade deadlines that the Yankees have had recently. By bolstering our outfield, adding starting pitching after the Sevy fall, and dropping dead weight like Gallo, the Yankees made their team better while only trading two non-minor leaguers. Let's chat about what each new Yankee brings to the table, the playoff potential for the Padres after acquiring Juan Soto and Josh Bell, and our overall grade of the Yankees trade deadline.

View Details

Now introducing your newest Yankee outfielder: Andrew Benintendi! The first trade for the Yankees approaching the deadline seals the deal on two things: The Yanks are out on Soto and Gallo. The two of us are looking for one more move before the deadline: Luis Castillo. With the loss of King to a fractured elbow, we need to relieve both our starting pitchers and our relievers. Hopefully, Cashman works some magic and maybe listen's to Scotty's trade proposal to make the winning deal and basically lock up the World Series.

The All-Star break has arrived and we get to reflect. Although the weekend was full of stars there was one big star that shined the brightest, Juan Soto. Not only did he take home the dub in the home run derby, but he also denied a 400 million dollar deal from the Nationals and is THE HOTTEST trade target of most teams. Here's the thing, he still has a few years on his contract so the Nats are asking for a ton in response. Lexi and Scotty discuss whether the Yankees should be involved, who they would have to give up and what other teams are in on the trade thoughts. We took a trip around the league to chat about the O's recent success and are looking forward to the All-Star break!

Wins are flying by now but that also means that the trade deadline is coming up. Today Lexi and Scotty talk about what they think should or just what could happen before the trade deadline and who is on the chopping block. They also talk about the upcoming series against Red Sox and their feelings towards it. Around the league one of the big thing was the youngsters. Rookie home runs, Spence Strider being very good, and of course, the stupidity of the all-star game. We played the Astro this year and boy did it not disappoint. Two Judge walk-offs, getting no hit but splitting the series. A pretty crazy week. THE JANKEES WIN. Although some streaks ended, we couldn't sweep Rays round 2, Clay Holmes lost his scoreless innings but all of that really doesn't mean too much. Why? Well the Yanks can't win them all and everyone can't do amazing. Nestor gave up 4 runs through 4 innings and Cole didn't have a good outing either. Scotty runs through the correct predictions that we have said throughout the 2 years of the podcast, including the baby theory, our love of Nestor and us giving respect to Clay Holmes a bit ahead of time. Another week with not much to talk about except a continuous winning community, and we are finally looking like a family now. It's been a week of chaos to say the least, a bunch of trades and signings have occurred and keep occurring each hour. By this time there are still a few big free agents still out there. Trevor Story and Carlos Correa being the two biggest. But in this episode Scotty goes over each of the ones that have happened and his quick reactions. He looks deeply into the two executive decisions by the Yankees front office with the trade involving Gio and Gary, and the signing of Rizzo. Baseball is starting up and were gonna have things to talk about. For more updates from the Yankees and soon to be starting lineups, follow us on instagram @pinstripe.podcast.

You read that right, the two sides of MLB have made an agreement and we will have baseball. Scotty goes over all things to know that came with the agreement. These include: universal DH, new bases, a pitch clock, and the banning of the shift. These and more all were agreed upon in the CBA agreement and baseball is going to be back in April with a full 162 game schedule. We can't wait to see all the free agent signings and more coming these next few weeks and especially can't wait for Yankees baseball! How does Rob Manfred wake up every day thinking he's doing the right thing? The lockout has officially canceled the first two series of the season and it is NOT GOOD. We don't see an end in sight, and there is no way to fix this, this was what we were all afraid of. Not much else to say really.

This week came with some pretty big news, bad news, but big bad news. It is not looking good for the start of the MLB season, if a deal is not reached soon, the regular season will be delayed and games will be canceled. A massive pain which is probable to happen, add that to everything that's already going on. Some good news is the planned retirement of number 21 for the Yankees, Paul O'Neill, a college kid hitting triple digits and a few interesting ways college teams are relaying signs. There is no fun way to slice it, we were supposed to have baseball news today. Pitchers and catchers should have been a few days into Spring Training and all we have is some news regarding retirements and babies: not ideal. Will this lockout ever end??? Will we ever see the light of baseball again??? It's getting grim, but we have got to try and stay hopeful. Follow us on Instagram @pinstripe.podcast

Slow progress is coming from the lockout, but still nothing much. This week we did hear from people about different views of the lockout and what progress has been made and what has been lost. Manfraud thinks the lockout will end before spring training, but it doesn't look like that'll happen. Discussions of how to stop tanking was talked about and Scotty discusses his views. The legendary umpire Joe West official retires now with the most games officiated. We also saw Vlad Sr turn 47 and the sad loss of Jermey Giambi. Still not much has happened but if it does, you can hear it first on our Instagram @pinstripe.podcast.

Another week passes by with little news coming from the MLB. We did get the Hall of Fame inductees announced, sorry the inductee. Only Big Papi, David Ortiz got in, on his first ballot. A crazy week we just had. Massive signings including, Max Scherzer, Corey Seager and Marcus Semien all signed huge contracts and yet nothing from the Yankees. With plenty of signings happening teams are seeming crazy, the Mets and the Rangers being the current leaders in total money spent in just one major week of free agency. All of this was the beginning of the week with Wednesday bringing the dreaded lockout. With this lockout there will be no signings, and no associations between players and teams until a new CBA deal is agreed upon. It's the divisional round and the Yankees are out of the playoffs so you know what that means, we're running out of stuff to talk about. But with 4 series still going on, there is a good amount of baseball to talk about and a good amount of drama as well. Rays vs Red Sox was wild, as was the only series to go to 5 games, Dodgers, Giants. We also saw the most boring playoff baseball played between Atlanta and Milwaukee and a ton of drama be started up in the White Sox vs Astros series. Wasn't a lot of news for the Yankees so far, firing our third base coach and hitting coach, things we were ready to see. Overall a pretty short week, and these weeks will only get shorter. Well, the season is over. Possibly the worst way, Cole threw terribly, only going 2 innings, the rest of our offense didn't exist and we had a rough day as a whole with Stanton missing 2 homers by 10 feet. 11 games in a row. The Yankees took the Field of Dreams Game seriously and have been on an absolute tear. Mostly led by Giancarlo Stanton, this team has been a huge threat in baseball. We saw Cole face of against Josh Donaldson and absolutely dominate him, and the two hottest teams face off as a the Yanks played against the Braves. Stanton has been tearing it up at the plate and Andrew Velazquez has been doing a great job on both sides of the field. But with Gleybor's return on the horizon, what is going to be the solution that the Yankees decide between the red hot Velazquez or their relied on Torres. Around the league we saw news from two legends with Miggy hitting 500 home runs and Yadi deciding that next year is his last year. We also saw the longest game in since the runner on second rule with a game going to 16 innings. For more information go follow our instagram @pinstripe.podcast.

The Yankees are 24-9 since the All-Star game. No team is playing better than them. We are pitching well, we are hitting well and there are only so few issues with our team. Zack Britton is one of them, Andrew Heaney is kind of another and the biggest issue? What we will do with Luke Voit and Anthony Rizzo, both players are doing an amazing job separately but now they will need to share the time. Tyler Wade has been killing it, the kid Andrew Velazquez has been killing it. The Yanks are looking amazing. Around the league we saw ANOTHER No-Hitter along with the release of the LA Dodgers city connect uniforms. The Yankees have taken 9 out of their last 10 series but this last week hasn't been the prettiest. A 9 pitcher game, 2 games in extras and 7 errors in 2 games really doesn't look to good. But we've been winning most of them and you can't complain about that. DJ has started hitting, Tyler Wade started looking good and Stanton stays tearing. But we'll need a lot going into the Field of Dreams game and a series against a very good White Sox team. A great week. No complaints at all from any part of our team this week. A week in which the expectations were low with a different team playing because of injuries but we saw only good. Two great games and one kick to the gut results in The Yankees going into the break with a series win but also a loss. The sticky stuff didn't seem to affect Cole all that much with two huge comeback starts. There is no other way to explain this week other than right out of hell. One of the slowest starts in Yankee history has made them nearly unwatchable, and it's hard to find any goodness in this team right now. Him just wondering where our team went? Has anyone seen them? The Yankees put out a depressing show this week and most of it has to stem from our offense. Runs have been hard to come by for this team and starting pitching hasn't been giving them a whole lot of chances either. Happy first week of baseball!!! While this is the happiest week of the year, there are obviously already things to question about the team's performance. Yes, we know this is a small sample size and things will change as the season goes on and blah blah blah, but we had to do some good old complaining. Our failure to score runners is nearly laughable but is also definitely painful. The bright spot that we highlighted is some great pitching performances through both our starters and our bullpen. After a pit stop at probably one of the Yankees' weirdest pick-ups, we take a quick trip around baseball to see what the rest of the league looked like one week into having baseball back with fans. The time has finally arrived: BASEBALL GAMES ARE HERE!! Yeah, sure they're spring training games and don't mean anything but still! It's baseball! While nothing that happens here holds a significant amount of weight, there are still some notable moments. Gary's comeback season? Derek Dietrich making the 40 man? How about Severino's progress? Just because they don't go on the record doesn't mean there aren't important things to look into and check out. To get daily lineups and scorecards follow us on Instagram @pinstripe.podcast

We are so close to Yankee baseball, it's crazy. While our position players arrived this week, all we could talk about was our pitching staff. With news breaking about Schmidt, then Germán apologizes, and our new additions getting settled in it's hard not to be excited about them. We just can't wait to see them play some ball. We are under a week until pitchers and catchers report to Florida and we could not be more excited. With Taillon constantly showing how excited he is and Judge and Stanton taking a new approach to their offseason prep, this year is pretty exciting. Along with a hyperactive week across the league, there was a lot to cover this week. With a pit stop to talk about football, this week had a whole lot of content to hear. Nolan Arenado is the hottest third baseman in baseball and he just flew out of Colorado on over to the Cardinals. Scotty and Lexi are in disbelief and talk about how this will affect the American League Central. They also got to talk all good things about Fernando Tatis Jr. gracing the cover of MLB The Show and which console Scotty is going to buy it on. With one of their last team dives, the pair look into the depressing Kansas City Royals and just cannot imagine the pain that these fans must experience. Pitchers were all the news this week for the New York Yankees. With the trade for Jameson Taillon, the signing of Darren O'Day, and the official loss of Masahiro Tanaka, the arms were all the rage to talk about this week. Is Taillon going to be effective? Will submarine pitcher O'Day be a good fit for the pinstripes? We take our guesses on what we hope to see out of these hopeful arms this season. Hear us break down how well Cashman has been able to stay under the luxury tax and still create a team that has a really solid shot at the World Series. The Yankees got their MAN!!! DJ is now a Yankee for the rest of his career, and we could not be happier about it. We also snatched up Kluber, so we had so much fun Yankee news to talk about this week you won't want to miss it! Obviously, there was movement all over the league, so there was so much action. The Padres still have more prospects, the Blue Jays snag talent, and then we dove into the boys in Cleveland, this one is info heavy, so get ready! Follow us on Instagram @pinstripe.podcast

This week we were kind of all over the place before we dug into the Chicago White Sox. Both of us can admit neither of us has really given the team much thought the past few years, but boy will we now! They've got a pitching staff that won't quit and the obvious energy and talent of Tim Anderson. We also touched on MLBs predictions of the next 10 World Series and thought they were pretty BS and the rumors surrounding Fernando Tatis Jr. contract, that will be fun to keep an eye on. Wow oh wow, today's episode was all over the place. We talked about Yasiel Puig and the recent Yankee movement that has been happening. Additionally, we talked about the leap that Bianca Smith made for women by being hired by the Boston Red Sox and the drama that is surrounding Rachel Luba. While we were recording we got the news that Francisco Lindor was traded to the Mets along with Carlos Carrasco. You get to hear our LIVE reactions as the news breaks, it was pretty crazy. Our team deep dive this week was on the Minnesota Twins as we try to figure out why they can't win a playoff game, but your guess is as good as ours. This week would have been a hell of a week to be a Padres fan huh? Lexi and Scotty look at the trades that Slam Diego made this week and try to understand how it was possible. They also realize how Yankee fans probably would have never made the trade because we have a connection issue to some of our prospects. With some chat about Gary Sanchez, the focus wasn't exactly on the Yankees this week. The deep dive finished up the East by heading into Miami and looking at the Marlins, quite the club is being put together down there and the two are in shock, to say the least. Merry day after Christmas everyone, let's get back to buisness. This week we dove right into the Nationals and what they have been doing since winning the World Series– it hasn't been much. We tried to understand what caused such a flat season, we'll get back to you when it's a skills issue. In Yankee terms, we talked about the rumors that continue to fly around DJ and the news of Tommy Kahnle going to the Dodgers. We also obviously watch Under the Grapefruit Tree so come hear our takes on the documentary about the truly legendary pitcher. To keep up with us follow us on Instagram @pinstripe.podcast

So much Yankee news this week, it's like our show is actually about them! We got two different stories this week about the gap between the DJ contract, but wow don't we all just want that mess to be over. Boone had a press conference this week that talk about some pretty important things, and it was good to hear the things he was saying. Across the league, there's been a lot of motion too, with signings, talks, and rumors flying around more and more as we get deeper into the offseason. The team that we took a close look at today was the Atlanta Braves, and what can we say, they've got it going on. With awards across their core and their powerful pitching staff, I think they've got a strong case to file against the Dodgers. As we continue our trip through the league, our stop this week is in Philadelphia to take a look at Bryce Harper and the Phillies. There is a lot to unpack here with Realmuto being one of the hottest free agents of this offseason. That paired with the recent drama around if they can afford to keep Zach Wheeler, it's hard to believe that this team just spent $330 million dollars on Bryce Harper to build a serious contender in the NL East. Lexi and Scotty work their way through the lineup to figure out what the team looks like and what problems can be found within it. The team is frustrating, but it's not like they are completely helpless, so what gives? A collection of awards were also released this week including the All MLB team, so hear the two swap opinions about the release. We were also hit with some curious news regarding the Pirates on Wednesday, come listen to what they had to think about the potential of this deal happening. Contract tending is here and although Scotty and Lexi are not completely sure how to talk about them, they do know what it means. This week we discussed the Gary tendered contract and a few others who may or may not have received the same offer. In our team deep dive today, we traveled to Queens to check out what that other team in New York is about. The Mets are an interesting team to look at, and I'm sure you'll find a laugh in some of their stats, but be surprised by others. This week with the Charlie Morton signing, the Braves really showed their plan to overthrow the Dodgers in the National League, they aren't letting them sit atop for long. Scotty and Lexi talked about how effective that rotation is going to be, and trust me, it'll be scary. Our team breakdown for this week is one that no one wants to hear, but it's about the success that the Rays have had and how their organization did it. This one hurt to talk about, not going to lie, but it had to be done. How can you beat a team without understanding their strengths? They're the new rival in the AL East, sorry Red Sox. It was hard for me to want to talk about anything other than the Kim Ng hiring this week, but I have a job to do! We introduced a new segment to the show around Trevor Bauer and also talked about how we are still contractless with DJ. Our breakdown for this week was on the Baltimore Orioles, a team that neither Scotty nor myself are all that familiar with like I genuinely cannot tell you a single person on that team. However, as they are in our division it is important to just remember any possible threats they possess! Hopefully next week we can come at you with some great news before we talk about the Tampa Bay Rays. Oh yes, who doesn't love to see the downfall of our longtime enemy? Come see for yourself the fall of the Red Sox as they go through a "rebuild" after losing a generational talent. Don't worry, there is plenty of trouble for the team that rounded out the American League East this playoff run. Although their talent wasn't where they needed, I still harbor quite a bit of anger towards the team and their manager who has been taken out of his timeout. We are still awaiting a DJ contract, hopefully, we can bring good news about that next week. To brainstorm ideas for his contract, follow me on Twitter @lexsemanchik.

The first full week of no baseball, and we were hit with a very hard week. Of course, baseball at this time seems foolish to talk about, but it can also be a nice escape from the anxieties that we are surrounded by. Today we dove into our first team in the American League East: The Toronto Blue Jays. A young team with a lot of talent, Scotty and I dove into their starting 9, top 4 pitchers and then took a look into their farm system. How do we think they'll fair next season, and what do we think the Yankees need to do to beat them? To talk baseball between episodes, tweet me @lexsemanchik

They finally did it, after many close calls, the Dodgers have successfully won the Commissioners trophy! I mean, you can look back at nearly every episode we did this year, and you can hear us talk about how they were the best team in the league, and they proved it this year. No one wanted to see it go this way, but unfortunately, the Yankees could not pull out a win against the Tampa Bay Rays. This week we talked about what went wrong in the game that ultimately sent us home and the frustrations that we have felt from the communication coming from the front office. Scotty and I also have divided and conquered watching both the ALCS and NLCS respectively, so we give some of our own insight on those series. The Yankees have made it interesting at PETCO! Recorded on Thursday afternoon, little did Scotty and I know that we would be having a winner-takes-all Game 5 tonight! Because of this, we talked about the games in the first half of the week and what we need to do to be able to secure this series. We discussed Stanton's offensive explosion, Cole's great playoff starts, and the prospect of Higgy getting the starting job. There has been a lot of great baseball to watch this week, probably the best games all season all happened the same week, but tonight is all that matters. Oh BABY! What a great week to be a Yankee fan. A sweep in Cleveland showed us the Yankees are not here to screw around in the playoffs. With an electric showing from the offense and a great pitching performance, we were able to get past the Indians in two games. Now, we head to Petco to play the Rays. This week Scotty and I broke down what was so successful for the Yankees and talked about the status of the rest of the playoffs. We did it! After an up and down season, we clinched our spot into this year's weird playoffs. Finally, Yankee baseball is a fun watch again. After a 2-week nightmare stretch where it was easy to find things to be upset about, the team really turned it around. Homeruns are coming from everywhere, with Higgy finding his stick and of course, LUKE VOIT is out here, already with more home runs than when we recorded this literally a day ago. The man is crazy. The team is crazy. What a great time for us to all come off of the IL because it's almost playoff time! This is our final push, and we have a whole lot of faith in them. Oh boy, we really thought it couldn't get worse from last week, huh? 5 straight losses and they were games that we SHOULD HAVE and NEEDED to win. The frustration is obvious here for Yankee fans, what's happening? Scotty and I talk through our frustrations and realize that maybe what we're missing is a clubhouse guy and one that can keep themself on the field. Hopefully, we can turn this around before it's too late, the extended playoffs might be a savior we didn't even know we needed this year. There's no way to sugar coat it, this week in Yankee baseball was atrocious. With the flat offense and our bullpen apparently needing to give up a game-tying or winning homerun every game, watching games have become difficult. This week we talked about the Mets mess and the Rays nightmare, and hope that we can figure out how to beat the O's this week. This week we had our first of many long-distance episodes. We didn't have much Yankee baseball to talk about thanks to the Mets ruining our fun, but there was content none the less. This week the Yankees got a visit from their old friend the IL. With Judge, Stanton, LeMahieu, and Britton all being sent down by the time this was recorded. We later found out that Torres was taken out of the game and that Paxton had arm pain, will it ever end? Thankfully Luke Voit took the offense into his own hand and has been absolutely lighting it up alongside our favorite underdog Clint Frazier. Around the horn, we took a look at some of the more serious issues that happened in baseball this week including the Reds announcer and the Bauer cleat debacle. This week Scotty and Lexi talk about quite a few things. We broke down the nearly perfect week that the Yankees just worked through. Gary and Gardner both managed to push hits across so the hate can maybe stop for a little. We chatted about our offensive power and how it seems like we just can't be stopped. The DFA announcements were good news to us because hopefully, it means that Mike Tauchman can get the starting job that he deserves. We took a trip around the league to discuss some other powerful offenses, Shane Bieber, the Cespedes predicament, and discuss Lexi's theory that Mike Trout somehow managed to get better after having a child.
