It’s important to remember that the words we use, our body language or even our intonation can be a factor in the quality of the message we communicate; the reception we receive and the action or inaction that takes place from the receiver. When we learn to treat people well, we don’t only feel great, but also a reflection of our own values about human interactions.
In this episode we discuss the dangers of treating people wrong, how to treat people right and finally the benefits of treating people right.
By treating people in the right way, we are able to build stronger long-lasting relationships both within our personal and professional lives.
Greatness from within intro
Greatness means you distinguish yourself from others, you’ve set yourself apart from the crowd and you are truly eminent in your field. Greatness is therefore, the quality of being great, distinguished, or eminent.
Thomm Quackenbush said “Within you, within all human beings, is a seed of greatness that makes their kind quake with fear.”
We all have a substance that makes us unique from everyone else. By harnessing this unique feature of ourselves we can stand out from the crowd.
Whatever your definition of greatness, remember it begins from within. There is greatness inside all of us, but first we must choose to be great. With the finite amount of time we have to live our ideal life and live it to the full, it is time to embrace your inner excellence and make the best of the gift called life. Albert Einstein once said… “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
Decide to be great because the world is waiting for your unique stamp. Remember what Benjamin Franklin wrote - lost time is never found again.
In this episode we discuss behaviours that can block your greatness, how to find the greatness from within and the benefits of harnessing your greatness.
We are often tempted to make huge changes at once. However, we know from experience that it can be frustrating when we don’t get the results. Take an example of wanting to get to your ideal weight or get business results. When we have weight as a challenge, we keep looking in the mirror to see how we are looking especially when we have an exercise regime or a dieting program. When making a change to our lives or business we must remain patient but determined so that we can become successful in the end. EL James the author of the 50 shades trilogy once wrote “we need to learn to walk before we can run.”
When making large changes to our business or personal lives it is important to break down the larger changes into smaller steps so that we can transition through the change comfortably.
In this episode we discuss how to make slight changes so that you achieve the results you want. Don’t be fooled by the tiny changes you register each time. Tiny changes add up and become transformational. Stick to your tiny changes and be consistent and watch the results add up.
We all have dreams that we wish we could turn into reality. A single decision can be the difference maker in progressing and living our dream or spending hours contemplating and regretting the path not taken.
Are you in a job that does not excite you anymore? Or are you at crossroads with no idea of where to turn? This podcast will help you unpack that.

Gratitude is the appreciation of what we have or what others have done for us.
We all have something to be grateful for, this could be our friends, family, or the business we have worked so hard to build. Never take things for granted, if you do, you will be undervaluing what you have or the support you have received.
In this episode we share what we are thankful for, how to show gratitude towards others and the benefits of gratefulness.
Start showing gratitude today as the saying goes “You don’t know what you have lost until it is gone.”
Focusing is the ability to concentrate exclusively on one specific task so that the end goal is successfully achieved. When we tackle too many things at once in the name of multi-tasking, we don’t achieve much. History is dotted with names of people who harnessed the power of focus to achieve phenomenal and exponential results. Is your multi-tasking yielding the results you want? If not don’t waste another day in your life doing too many things at once.
A focused mind will complete tasks successfully with less chance of making mistakes and wasting resources. It also saves time and energy. Multitasking or stretching our workload creates room for mistakes and puts a strain on the individual’s brain. Why not use your talent, time, and treasure in a focused way to achieve your goals, ambition, vision, KRA’s and strategic objectives.
In this episode we discuss the benefits of focus why it is a more effective approach than doing too many things. Have a fantastic week.
During the course of our personal and professional lives, we will experience some sort of rejection, which will either make or break us.
Rejection is defined as the dismissal or refusal of an idea or a person.
For those who have been broken by rejection, now it is the time to change. By embracing rejection and using it as a tool we can increase our chances for success.
In this episode we discuss how we can change our mindset from looking at rejection as a negative and turning it into a positive process to success.
A complaint is usually seen as something negative however, this doesn’t have to be the case. A complaint well taken can open doors to opportunities, improved services and even to new product and service development and improvement. When you look at complaint as positive feedback and change your mindset regarding a complaint, it offers you the chance to grow and develop.
In this episode, we discuss ways of how to change the narrative and stories regarding complaint and shift your paradigm regarding complaint to something positive. A complaint well received helps you change and provide better services to your client.
A complaint doesn’t have to remain as something negative, but positive feedback for change, growth, and development
The past gives us lessons of yesterday while the future provides us with lessons for tomorrow.
After 50 episodes we took the time in this special episode to reflect on the journey so far. We discussed some of the most popular episodes, what we have learnt, as well as talk about some of the plans we have for the future.
We trust that you will continue to enjoy the great content we bring to you each time so that you can be more, do more, and give more of yourself, skills, experiences, talent, potential to the world. Together, we make the world a better place for us all.
I Have heard it said that “Depression lives in the past, Anxiety lives in the future while Calmness and peace lives in the present” where do you live?
Some people are always chasing tomorrow forgetting that today matter. When you squander your today, you are impacting your tomorrow. Instead of putting all your attention on tomorrow, why not make the best of your today. Today once gone will never be repeated in your life. Today will never return when you enter tomorrow.
Others are stuck on the regret of yesterday, forever condemned to relive the mistakes of the past.
The time has come for change. In this episode we discuss how to get the best of today and how to switch your focus and change your paradigm.
The past should teach us lessons for the future while today should allow us to plan for tomorrow. Our choices today will dictate the quality of our future. Tomorrow is a piece of your future!
When you do what you love, it doesn’t feel like work anymore as the saying goes. Following and living your passion will allow you to do amazing work that you’re really interested in. We follow our passions because it brings us fulfillment. Following your passion may appear like a far-fetched dream, but it is possible. To be passionate, is to be determined to achieve what you want without being swayed or distracted.
Passion is what gives you boundless energy, intense almost single-minded focus, and the willpower to overcome even the most daunting obstacles. The more passionate we are with whatever we are focused on, the more we will work hard and smart on improving ourselves while increasing our chances of success.
If you had all the time in the world, if there were no limitation, self imposed and otherwise, or other obligations in life – what would you do?
In this episode, we provide ideas, perspectives, and nuggets to help you follow your passion. Have a fantastic week.
We all want to win in life, but how do we win in the game of life?
To become a winner, it takes clarity, determination, perseverance, tenacity, and a hunger that cannot be quenched or satisfied until we win. Leaders who win, have their eyes on the prize and will not be swayed by distraction or failure.
You can become a winner by first knowing what you want, setting goals that will deliver your winning prize and working consistently towards the achievement of those goals. In this episode, we share some of the tools you can use to become a winner. After all we all admire winners so why not join the club and become a winner. Remember, you have to work at it though.
The way you look at obstacles is very important. Some see obstacles and are crushed under the weight of it while others use obstacles to catapult them to greatness. Obstacles test your tenacity and resolve regarding what you really want in life. When you want something really bad, obstacles become transportation. Whatever you want to achieve has obstacles as part of the process. Those who learn to use obstacles are those who succeed in the end.
Allow obstacles to refine your thinking, ignite a fire within you, reprogram your mind, reenergize and refocus you to move steadily in the direction of your aspirations and vision. Without obstacles, your dream may not be big enough. The bigger the dream, the more challenging are the obstacles. Use obstacles as transportation and not as show stoppers. This podcast will show you how. Have a great week.
Complacency is a dangerous attitude that will rob you from fulfilling your potential and suffocate your vision and goals. Complacency can also become a habit and when that happens you are slowly heading for a disaster. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines complacency as self-satisfaction especially when accompanied by unawareness of actual dangers or deficiencies.
Just doing enough to satisfy your employer or meet the basic requirement of the job is not good. Decide to always go beyond the call of duty. Doing this kicks complacency out of the door. Doing enough to get by will stop you from being the best you can be.
In this week’s episode we lift the lid on the symptoms of complacency and how to defeat them. When you defeat complacency, you change the trajectory of your life.
Failure is a part of success, and the benefits of failure cannot be overemphasised. Failure is the hallmark of success, without failure there would be no great successes. J. Wallace Hamilton has this to say about failure. “People are training for success when they should be training for failure. Failure is far more common than success; poverty is more prevalent than wealth; and disappointment more normal than arrival.” I get the gist of what Hamilton is trying to say but don’t agree with the statement. The human brain focuses on what we give attention to. The interesting thing about failure is that we are quick to judge isolated situations in our lives and label them as failures, instead, we should keep the bigger picture in mind. Failure is not a bad word because without failing several times, you can never be successful. Fail fast, fail quickly, learn from these failures, and move towards success. In this podcast we present the benefits we can derive from failure. Learn to fail your way to success!

Thought or mind conditioning is a process of training your mind to modify your thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs to accept thinking patterns, tendencies and/or mental states to optimize positive thinking and ultimately optimize your performance. Whatever the condition of your mind, the Thought Conditioners we are sharing are so powerful that they will displace unhealthy thoughts and position your mind to think great empowering thoughts. Remember that displacement is the only way you can drive negative and unhealthy thoughts from the mind. Happiness, joy, and effectiveness depend upon the kinds of thoughts we think, it is impossible to be happy if we think unhappiness-producing thoughts. Is there something you are thinking about starting and yet you keep postponing because you have convinced yourself or others have told you that its not the right time to start? Procrastination is a thief of time. There are people who have been let go from a corporate job and they are afraid of starting their own business because they are worried that the business might not make it. Others want to write a book but continuously convince themselves that they are not cut out to be authors. I once was where you are today when I convinced myself that I cannot do this or that until it dawned on me that starting begins the growing process. You must start that something for it to begin to grow. To be a master at something, you must start somewhere. The masters we see today started with what they had and from where they were. Starting begins with the intensity of the hunger you have regarding changing the trajectory of your life. Who told you that being let go is the end of your life? Who convinced you that you don’t have what it takes to start that business, write that song, the book, the relationship, or whatever keeps you awake at night? You might be saying George, what if I started and it failed? Why not think what if you I started, and it succeeds. Even if you started and it did not work the first time, get counsel from the words of Dr. John Maxwell, a Leadership Thought Leader who said “sometimes you win and sometimes you learn. Just Start It will you?

Staying the course is a trait of all successful leaders, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, knowledge brokers, teachers, business owners and all those who finish well and strong. Every successful leader had to be baked through disappointments, challenges, disruption, change, adversity, and other vicissitudes. We have all had reasons at one point or another to give up. I found out over the years that it doesn’t take any effort to give up. It sure takes a whole lot of mental power, will, determination, sacrifice, persistence, and investment to stay the course. Why do we have millions of people who have given up and a tiny fraction holding study in pursuance of their goals and dreams? Why are billions of people living lives of quiet desperation? Let me tell you why, because it is very easy to quit when the going gets tough. There is a way out and that it what this podcast is about. Providing you with nuggets on staying the course one conquest at a time. Your ambitions, goals, vision, and mission are all worth staying the course for. Any time you start thinking about quitting or giving up, remember the collateral damage to your aspirations, the life you imagine, the cost to your family, friends, those you are called to serve and humanity. Don’t deprive the world of your contribution. The only reason you are still here is because you are still needed.
Fear can be real or imagined. Fear is what has kept you and million around the globe to explore their potential, opportunities, possibilities, stretch to do what some may call impossible, design the life they want or and work towards the lives they imagined. We have all experience fear in one form or another. The people we admire today, accomplished what they did through fear and trepidation. Fear is part of life, and we must tame fear so that we can accomplish our dreams and aspirations. One of the best ways to eliminate fear is do what you are afraid of. In the words of Joyce Meyer, “Do it Afraid” The content of this podcast gives you nuggets on how to eliminate fear and do the things you are afraid of. It will be a tragedy to miss out on what you can achieve by relinquishing the leadership of your life to FEAR. False evidence appearing real! Whatever you are afraid of, Just Do It! And Do it Afraid.

We tend to focus on the negative during the tough times. For whatever reason, our default is not to rehearse and refresh our minds with the positive things happening in our lives. Imagine how your life will be like when your default is a focus on possibility, the things going well in your life, your past victories, what you hope to accomplish, the people in your life and all the good stuff. We each need to make a deliberate effort to renew our minds by continuously conditioning our minds on what is good, what is noble, what is lovely, what is possible, what is sound, the things we want to achieve, the people we want to meet, the places we want to visit, who we want to inspire with our aspirations and so on and so forth. Allow these thought conditioners to get you started on the journey of conditioning your mind to do the things you want to do.
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are but tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph Waldo Emerson.
The word to explore is to discover, investigate or search and the word heights a pinnacle, summit, apex, peaks, or altitudes. When we talk about explore the heights, we are talking about discovering or searching for how best you can reach the pinnacle of achievement in your vocation, career, business, or whatever heights you have chosen to conquer or reach. There is always a step ahead and you can continue to climb until you reach the summit. Many times, we are afraid to go after opportunities for fear that we might fail. Some are afraid to leave the comfort zone to pursue new heights because they do not want to lose sight of the shore or comfort zone. Others are not prepared to take the initiative to start work towards reaching the summit, peaks, or apex in whatever they are pursuing. J.S Elliot ably captured how to explore the heights by saying “Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.”

Dreams are powerful. Dreams inspire us to action; they make us wake up every morning with intention and expectation. Dreams keep us focused, drive our actions, catapult us to greatness, and ignite a fire within us. Everything we see today started as a dream in someone’s mind. Dreams are fuel for achievement and advancement. Every great dream begins with a dreamer. It is important that you do not underestimate the power of your dream. When your dream inspires greatness in others, causes people to live the lives they imagine, and leaves a blazing trail behind, that is a noble thing to do. My personal dream is to inspire change and transformation in people and organizations. This dream keeps me focused, alive and well. You need to hold fast to your dream so that it will not die. The cemetery is rich with dreams that were never brought to life. These dreams died with the people who had them. Do not allow your dream to die in you. You are never too old or too young to dream again. Get back your dream, dust it off, start working on it and before long, you will achieve the dream.
Resilience is bouncing back from a misfortune, disruptive change, and difficulty. It is your capacity to recover quickly from a challenging and difficult situation. It is your ability to spring back into form and position to do what you want to do. Resilience allows us to overcome challenges, obstacles, hardships, disruptive change, chaos, and the vicissitudes of life. Resilience took us through 2020 and resilience will take is through 2021. Here is my suggestion for you - Post the word Resilience in a conspicuous place where you can see it all the time; when you wake up and when you go to bed. Make it BIG/BOLD/BRILLIANT. You will spring back stronger than you have ever been. You have inner fortitude and strength. Focus 1 million percent on what is ahead of you. The only reason you are still alive is that your best days are ahead of you and not behind you. So, keep walking and stop looking around to what might go wrong.
Words do not only create emotions, but they also create actions. And from our actions flow the results of our lives. What is the big deal about words? Words carry tremendous power. They guide our thoughts and emotions and can bring us hope or despair. If you want to shape your decisions and your actions, shifting your emotional patterns is the key. Your words have the power to ruin your relationships when you do not choose your words carefully. Joyce Meyer said this about words “Words are containers for power, you choose what kind of power they carry.” Words have the power to build you up, confine you to where you are, and break you. Choose your words carefully before you speak them out. The words you say to yourself become triggers for action or inaction. Your words can also instill belief and hope in you. Be mindful of the words you use because your words are either stealing the future and the life you imagine or moving you towards it.
Someone said, thoughts are like roads, you never know where they will lead you. Your thinking is the gateway to all achievement, performance and productivity and success. From our thoughts we create and from that same thought pattern we destroy. Great accomplishments come from the quality of our thoughts. What you are today came from your thoughts of yesterday, and your present thoughts will build your life of tomorrow. You can never be any different from the way you think. You are in control of your thoughts and your thoughts continually affect your STATE and status in life. How you feel, your posture or physiology, your social interactions, your performance and productivity, your business success and failure, the quality of your relationships and so on all come from the quality of your thinking. The belief that you are not in control of your thinking or you cannot help thinking negative thoughts is a lie. Change your thinking and change your results significantly.
Business survival, stability and growth are things every business owner or entrepreneur should work on. During times of disruptive change, economic downturn, business challenges, economic shakeup and the various challenges businesses go through, it is important for businesses and entrepreneurs to work towards stability. Inability to do that, the business will struggle and eventually fold up. I am aware of so many businesses that have closed, some struggling and at the brink of closer and others barely making it. In this episode of explore the heights, we will provide some ideas and perspectives on remaining stable during the trying and difficult times. We will provide our suggestions in three buckets namely: what to START/STOP/CONTINUE.
Peak Performance is a state in which you performs to the maximum of your ability. Peak performers are not necessarily more talented than you, rather, they are more committed to be their best every single day. We all want to be peak performers in every area of our lives. You want to be a peak performer. The question is how do you grow into a peak performer? There are habits that help you achieve your goals, dreams and purpose in life and be vibrant irrespective of your age, gender, race, religion, sex, career choice and personality. To be a peak performer you must do what peak performers do and avoid habits that those who wallow in mediocrity embrace. There is a reward for peak performance. To receive that reward, you need to develop yourself and inculcate the habits of peak performance into your daily routine.
Positioning yourself to be successful requires the right strategy. Success, promotion, climbing the corporate ladder is not accidental, it’s all about positioning yourself rightfully. Coming out stronger during this time of disruptive change is about pivoting. Pivoting the right way is about positioning to do better, to be more, do more and give more. Every result, achievement, advancement, progress, climbing the ladder of success is a result of right positioning. The marketplace, job market, is crowded and the best way to make your mark is through positioning yourself the right way. The people who position themselves well during the downturn, are the ones who will lead their fields in the years ahead. One of the key elements in rightful positioning is about setting priorities. You can’t do anything and everything and succeed in your field of expertise or endeavour. Focus brings energy, targeted effort, confidence, excitement, passion, in the delivery of results. Start positioning yourself; set priorities, work on your success list and not on your to-do-list. In this podcast, we give you ideas on how to do just that.
The quest to succeed, the urge to climb the ladder of achievement, exceed the bosses’ expectations, get the promotion, grow the business, beat the competition, be the best salesperson, acquire the goodies of life, make a mark, leave a legacy, leave a braising trail of success after you has led numerous people to become workaholics, stress carriers, and ultimately leading to complete burnout. We all have the tendency of suffering from burnout, however there is a growing number of leaders, entrepreneurs, consultants, coaches, writers, business owners, stay at home mums or dads who are experiencing the symptoms of burnout. When you feel overworked, undermined, and undervalued, you are at risk for burnout. Your lifestyle and personality traits can also contribute to burnout. In fact, what you do in your leisure and your beliefs about the world can play a big role in causing overwhelming stress as work or demands from the home. Burnout can make you ill; steal your joy, affect your productivity and other things important to you. In this Podcast we share some ideas on how to avoid and deal with burnout.
It may be dark right now but dawn is around the corner! The poem below by John Greenleaf Whittier captures the message of our podcast for this week.
“When things go wrong as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don't you quit. Life is strange with its twists and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a failure comes about, When you might have won had you stuck it out; Don't give up though the pace seems slow—You may succeed with another blow. Success is failure turned inside out—The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell just how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit—It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.” Remember, it is dark before dawn.
Allow the words to sink in and be encouraged. Help in on the way.
Do you have a business you wanted to start but kept postponing? A book you wanted to write and continue to convince yourself that you are not ready? What do you have in you that needs to come out yet you continue to make excuses, procrastinating, and just never brought yourself to the point of saying No More Excuses. I convinced myself years ago that writing a book is not in my gene so I never wrote a book for a very long time even though so many people told me to put my ideas, beliefs, experiences, knowledge in a book. I finally got over it and now have a few books out there. Here is my advice; if you want to wait for everything to be perfect to start whatever you are thinking about, you will never start it. We don’t live in a perfect world and I believe that every master was once a disaster! Felix and I talked about starting a podcast. We had no idea how well it will be received. We had no training in making a podcast. We decided to start anyway believing that what we wanted to share is needed and will help people. So we started and here we are. You have a skill that the world needs, you are a solution to a business or someone’s problem, you can coach somebody to greatness, you are more than you think, and the world is waiting for your greatness. Don’t deprive the world of your signature and contribution. Whatever you wanted to do or have in you to offer the world, Just Start It.
How resilient are you? How quickly do you bounce back from a misfortune, disruptive change, and difficulty? You have the capacity to recover quickly from any challenging and difficult situation. You have the ability to spring back into form and position yourself to do what you want to do. You and you alone can stop yourself from realizing your potential. Depending on how you look at it, adversity and disruption can be good. Good in the sense that it impacts your comfort zone, challenges you to think deeper, change your business model, change your career, challenges the status quo, brings about creativity and innovation, makes family relationships stronger, causes leaders, businesses, and individuals to revisit and review their purpose and why they exist. Look for the good, the bad and the ugly in adversity and disruption and while you are at it, remember you are wired to be resilient.
We can become so consumed by the gravity of challenges and forget to live everyday with intention. There is no better time to make the decision and commitment to live everyday with intention in 2021.The New Year presents significant opportunities for you to revisit your purpose for living, goals, personal vision, live with a genuine sense of intention and direction, reset your sail, recalibrate and grow. Intentions give you purpose, as well as the inspiration and motivation to achieve your purpose. It is the determination propelling you to succeed at all costs by never giving up on the inner picture of what you want to accomplish.
Are you living the life you imagine or is life living you? Is the current economic environment of fear, anxiety, negativity, health crisis and other events pushing you into a negative state that you are finding it difficult to escape from? Listen to this podcast and be inspired to live with INTENTION
