CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – If you’ve found yourself standing at your trash and recycling bins, wondering which one that plastic bottle or takeout container belongs in, you might not have tried Charlottesville’s Recycle Coach app yet. Launched earlier this year by the City’s Department of Public Works, the app is designed to help residents quickly determine “what goes where” when it comes to recycling.

Recycle Coach is based on your address, providing quick answers on whether items should be recycled or discarded. Along with the “What Goes Where?” tool, the app includes collection schedules, reminders, and updates on any changes to waste services all in one place.

City officials say the app also aims to reduce waste contamination, a common issue with recycling. The app is available on the App Store and Google Play. More information on Recycle Coach and Charlottesville’s waste management services can be found on the City’s Waste Management Page.

From Monday, September 16th 2024 – Friday, October 25th 2024, listen each weekday from 6:00am to 6:00pm for the Keyword to Cash contest keyword(s).

Four keywords will be given each day, Monday through Friday, at various times of the day between 6am and 6pm.

Once you hear a keyword, go to Contests – Cville Right Now to the Keyword to Cash contest page. Complete the registration, including the correct contest keyword, for the chance to win $1,000 (ARV: $1,000 – Face value of check).

Listeners will have until the end of the day (11:59pm) to enter the four keywords before they expire. There will be a maximum entry of four times per day. There will be a possibility of 120 entries during the duration of the contest.

One winner per day will be randomly chosen from all eligible entrants on the following business day (9/16/24-10/25/24) and notified by phone and email. Each winner will be awarded $1,000. The phone number from the chosen entry will be called and the reaction recorded for broadcast after receiving the winner’s permission to record and broadcast the conversation. If the chosen entrant is notified by email, voicemail, or other answering device, he or she will have 24 hours from the time we contact them to respond. If the chosen entrant does not contact us back within the time limit, he or she will be disqualified, and another winner will be chosen from all eligible entrants. This process will continue until a winner is identified. There will be 30 winners, for a total of $30,000 given away. We will make reasonable efforts to award Prizes within 30 days after winning. The winner will be notified by phone when the check is ready for pick up at the station.

WINA-AM/FM will conduct this contest concurrently and simultaneously with other affiliated radio stations, and in various states. Listeners of WINA-AM/FM will, therefore, be competing with listeners of other radio stations to win the same prize. No purchase necessary. In the case of any query or discrepancy, the winner will ultimately be decided at the sole discretion of Saga Communications, Inc.

WINA-AM/FM contests are open to all eligible Charlottesville VA Residents who live or work within 75 miles of our transmitter 18 or older who have not won anything on WINA-AM/FM in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

One entry per person, per keyword, per station in Charlottesville, VA, for a total of 120 possible entries into the contest. Submitting more than the allowed entries will invalidate all entries by that contestant. Any entry submitted on behalf of another individual or using another person’s email address or name will be disqualified and ineligible to claim any prize. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries allowed by using same, multiple/different email addresses, identities, or any other methods void that participant’s entries and that participant may be disqualified. In the event of a dispute as to any on-line registration, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address used to register will be deemed to be the registrant and he/she must be eligible according to these Official Rules. In the event the winner is subject to or the subject of any order or legal process issued by any governmental agency having jurisdiction over the affairs of the winner (i.e. garnishment, child support order, judgment, lien, and the like), Cville Right Now / WINA-AM’s delivery of the prize to the official representative of the governmental entity claiming a right to the prize shall be thus deemed as (Cville Right Now / WINA-AM) awarding the prize to the winner. Cville Right Now / WINA-AM shall be entitled to rely in good faith, upon any documents presented by the representative seeking to collect the prize in lieu of the winner. Cville Right Now / WINA-AM shall not be liable for any claim by any winner for damages incidental thereto.
8. All Cville Right Now / WINA-AM contests are open to all eligible residents 18 or over (unless otherwise specified) living within 75 miles of station transmitter(s). Contestants must possess a valid form of identification bearing the picture of the contestant acceptable to Cville Right Now / WINA-AM that will be presented to Cville Right Now / WINA-AM and accepted before the prize is awarded. Employees of Cville Right Now / WINA-AM, it's advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the Cville Right Now / WINA-AM main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Winners will be expected to claim prize at the Cville Right Now / WINA-AM studios, 1140 Rose Hill Drive Charlottesville, VA 22903, between 12:00pm – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) within 30 days of being notified that they are winners, unless there is an expiration date on prize, which will be specifically stated.
10. Where the prize(s) consists of paper tickets (“will-call tickets”) the winner will be directed to go to a specified address and retrieve the will-call tickets, and, by entering the contest, the contestant agrees to pick up will-call tickets and sign and deliver to Cville Right Now / WINA-AM a waiver form as directed. Where the prize(s) consists of electronic (digital) concert or event tickets (“e-tickets”), the winner will receive an email from Cville Right Now / WINA-AM with a hyperlink to an electronic waiver form that the winner must sign and return to the Cville Right Now / WINA-AM before the prize will be transferred to the winner. The e-tickets will be transferred to the winner by Cville Right Now / WINA-AM or, in some cases, by a third party (for example, Ticketmaster, Live Nation, etc.) and the winner must check his or her email account for an email or cellular mobile number for a text message from the ticket provider in order to download the e-tickets. Where e-tickets are a prize, as a condition of entering the contest, redeeming and using e-tickets requires the winner (i) to have a valid email address and an app-enabled mobile device capable of downloading and running a third-party mobile ticketing app (e.g., Ticketmaster, Live Nation, etc.); (ii) to install, or have already installed, such mobile ticketing app on their app-enabled mobile device; and (iii) to log into an existing user account or sign up for a free user account with the third-party operating such mobile ticketing app by completing a form with all required information, including, at a minimum, the winner's first name, last name, valid email address and telephone number. 12. Cville Right Now / WINA-AM assumes no liability for situations, repairs, or incidents arising from any aspect of any prize awarded in any contest. Cville Right Now / WINA-AM, its advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees, and immediate families of each are absolved and shall be held harmless from any action or liability arising from any contest or prize awarded in any contest.

As a licensee of the FCC and a trustee of the public airwaves, Cville Right Now / WINA-AM reserves the right to interrupt and/or discontinue any contest or promotion (and not award the offered prize) at the discretion of Cville Right Now / WINA-AM management if world events, the national mood, or public safety so warrant.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The beans are spilled in a bullet point in the City Manager’s report at Monday night’s City Council meeting, but everything running according to schedule means the Belmont Bridge will be done by the end of the month. Mayor JuanDiego Wade confirming on Morning News the note in the report of a June 28th ribbon-cutting… signaling the end of the project.

There were years of talking about it before, but the project officially kicked off in January 2017, and construction started in July 2021. Mayor Wade lauded the plan and construction crews who were able to build the new bridge is traffic continued to flow on the crossing. The city will send out a release with all the ribbon-cutting details in the near future.

Construction underway on Jordan Park Trail Bridge across Pollocks BranchCHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The City of Charlottesville Parks Department is excited to announce that construction is beginning on a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge across Pollocks Branch at Jordan Park.The bridge will allow users of the Moores Creek trail to cross the tributary to access the trails west of Jordan Park playground and basketball courts and continue towards 5th Street. Currently the Rivanna Trails Foundation footpath crosses the creek with a rock hop.Construction begins Wednesday May 29, and is expected to take 2 months to complete. This project is funded by Community Development Block Grant Funding and costs ~$175,000. It is expected to be complete and open for public use by August.

From April 1, 2024 to May 10, 2024, listen each weekday from 6:00am to 6:00pm for the Keyword to Cash contest keyword(s).

Four keywords will be given each day, Monday through Friday, at various times of the day between 6am and 6pm.

Once you hear a keyword, go to Contests – Cville Right Now to the Keyword to Cash contest page. Complete the registration, including the correct contest keyword, for the chance to win $1,000 (ARV: $1,000 – Face value of check).

Listeners will have until the end of the day (11:59pm) to enter the four keywords before they expire. There will be a maximum entry of four times per day. There will be a possibility of 120 entries during the duration of the contest.

One winner per day will be randomly chosen from all eligible entrants on the following business day (4/2/2024-5/13/2024) and notified by phone and email. Each winner will be awarded $1,000. The phone number from the chosen entry will be called and the reaction recorded for broadcast after receiving the winner’s permission to record and broadcast the conversation. If the chosen entrant is notified by email, voicemail, or other answering device, he or she will have 24 hours from the time we contact them to respond. If the chosen entrant does not contact us back within the time limit, he or she will be disqualified, and another winner will be chosen from all eligible entrants. This process will continue until a winner is identified. There will be 30 winners, for a total of $30,000 given away. We will make reasonable efforts to award Prizes within 30 days after winning. The winner will be notified by phone when the check is ready for pick up at the station.

WINA-AM/FM will conduct this contest concurrently and simultaneously with other affiliated radio stations, and in various states. Listeners of WINA-AM/FM will, therefore, be competing with listeners of other radio stations to win the same prize. No purchase necessary. In the case of any query or discrepancy, the winner will ultimately be decided at the sole discretion of Saga Communications, Inc.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – (CVILLERIGHTNOW) In November, the Paramount Theater was filled near capacity for a fundraising event celebrating the work of local filmmaker Chris Farina, who has been diagnosed with the neurodegenerative disease ALS. Five months later, Farina’s newest film, A Bridge to Life, will premiere in the same space putting a spotlight on the Bridge Ministry.

The film will screen April 18 at 7pm at the Paramount as part of the Tom Tom Festival. It explores the nonprofit in Buckingham County that’s dedicated to changing the lives of men dealing with serious addiction issues by providing an alternative to incarceration and a holistic approach to change that includes job training, counseling and spiritual mentoring to help them return to society as productive members of the community. The nonprofit was founded by Executive Director William Washington, who overcame his own childhood traumas and multiple incarcerations before being given an opportunity to enter a program that changed the course of his life.

WINA Morning News host Jay James works closely with Washington and spoke about Farina on Charlottesville Right Now ahead of the November fundraiser for Farina’s family.

“I think what people will see Sunday, aside from his amazing talent, God-given ability to tell stories which will move you, which is such a unique skill, you will see a reflection of the diversity of our community, of different lives that he has touched all coming back together to say, we got you. 10. Where the prize(s) consists of paper tickets (“will-call tickets”) the winner will be directed to go to a specified address and retrieve the will-call tickets, and, by entering the contest, the contestant agrees to pick up will-call tickets and sign and deliver to NewsRadio 1070 WINA a waiver form as directed. Where the prize(s) consists of electronic (digital) concert or event tickets (“e-tickets”), the winner will receive an email from NewsRadio 1070 WINA with a hyperlink to an electronic waiver form that the winner must sign and return to the NewsRadio 1070 WINA before the prize will be transferred to the winner. The e-tickets will be transferred to the winner by NewsRadio 1070 WINA or, in some cases, by a third party (for example, Ticketmaster, LiveNation, etc.) and the winner must check his or her email account for an email or cellular mobile number for a text message from the ticket provider in order to download the e-tickets. Where e-tickets are a prize, as a condition of entering the contest, redeeming and using e-tickets requires the winner (i) to have a valid email address and an app-enabled mobile device capable of downloading and running a third-party mobile ticketing app (e.g., Ticketmaster, LiveNation, etc.); (ii) to install, or have already installed, such mobile ticketing app on their app-enabled mobile device; and (iii) to log into an existing user account or sign up for a free user account with the third-party operating such mobile ticketing app by completing a form with all required information, including, at a minimum, the winner's first name, last name, valid email address and telephone number. E-tickets awarded as a prize in such contests cannot be redeemed or used by any means other than the designated third-party mobile ticketing app for the e-tickets. 11. NewsRadio 1070 WINA reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if any contest rules are violated in any way.
12. NewsRadio 1070 WINA assumes no liability for situations, repairs, or incidents arising from any aspect of any prize awarded in any contest. NewsRadio 1070 WINA, its advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees, and immediate families of each are absolved and shall be held harmless from any action or liability arising from any contest or prize awarded in any contest.
13. As a licensee of the FCC and a trustee of the public airwaves, NewsRadio 1070 WINA reserves the right to interrupt and/or discontinue any contest or promotion (and not award the offered prize) at the discretion of NewsRadio 1070 WINA management if world events, the national mood, or public safety so warrant.
14. NewsRadio 1070 WINA reserves the right to amend the rules to any contest at any time. NewsRadio 1070 WINA's decision is always final. In the event any one of the general contest rules which govern all NewsRadio 1070 WINA contests contradict with any specific contest term, the specific contest term will control.
15. For any contest requiring phone entry you must use only the following number unless otherwise specified: 434-977-1070. For texting it is 43414 OR 77000 (Will be one or the other, not both). The person operating the telephone at NewsRadio 1070 WINA has the final decision as to who is the winning caller.
16. NewsRadio 1070 WINA shall have no responsibility for contestant’s inability or failure to participate, failure to win or claim any prize based on malfunction or difficulties with telephone, cell phone, texting, email, or internet access, or any other circumstances in any contest beyond NewsRadio 1070 WINA’s control.
17. For any contest involving on-line voting: If an entrant receives irregular votes, including but not limited to, votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, or other automated means, NewsRadio 1070 WINA reserves the right to disqualify the entrant in its sole discretion and/or use another means to determine the winner(s), ex. – random selection or appointing a panel of judges.
18. For any contests involving tickets to live performances or events, winners will need to follow all COVID guidelines and protocols put in place by the concert organizer.
19. NewsRadio 1070 WINA is not responsible for for any event cancellations or reschedules.
20. NewsRadio 1070 WINA is not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or act of man or God, lost, late, misdirected, postage-due, unintelligible, returned, undelivered entries or email, or lost, interrupted or unavailable satellite, network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections availability, accessibility or traffic congestion, miscommunications, failed computer, network, telephone, satellite or cable hardware or software or lines, or technical failure, or jumbled, scrambled, delayed or misdirected transmissions, computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, or network. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of this contest or website, or act in violation of the official service, as solely determined by the station, will be disqualified. Contest Rules

From 4/24/23 through 6/16/23, listen each weekday from 6:00am to 6:00pm for the Keyword to Cash contest keyword. There will be a different keyword announced each day; each keyword may be announced more than once per day. Once you hear the keyword, go to wina.com to the Keyword to Cash contest page. Complete a registration, including the correct contest keyword, for the chance to win $1,000 (ARV: $1,000 – Face value of check). You must complete the registration by 11:59pm that day. There will be no keyword announced on Memorial Day, 5/29/23. One entry per person, per keyword, per day. By entering each day of the contest, it will increase the chances of winning. One winner per keyword will be randomly chosen from all eligible entrants on the following business day (4/25/23 through 6/19/23) and notified by phone and email. Each winner will be awarded $1,000. The phone number from the chosen entry will be called and the reaction recorded for broadcast. If the chosen entrant is notified by voicemail or other answering device, he or she will have 24 hours from the date we call to respond by calling the number given on the message. If the chosen entrant does not contact us back within the time limit, he or she will be disqualified, and another winner will be chosen from all eligible entrants. This process will continue until a winner is identified. There will be 39 winners, for a total of $39,000 given away.

NewsRadio 1070 WINA will conduct this contest concurrently and simultaneously with other affiliated radio stations, and in various states. Listeners of NewsRadio 1070 WINA will, therefore, be competing with listeners of other radio stations to win the same prize. No purchase necessary. In the case of any query or discrepancy, the winner will ultimately be decided at the sole discretion of Saga Communications, Inc.

NewsRadio 1070 WINA contests are open to all eligible Charlottesville, Virginia Residents who live or work within 75 miles of our transmitter 18 or older who have not won anything on NewsRadio 1070 WINA in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

One entry per person, per keyword, per day. By entering each day of the contest, it will increase the chances of winning. Submitting more than one entry per person, per keyword, per day will invalidate all entries by that contestant. Any entry submitted on behalf of another individual or using another person’s email address or name will be disqualified and ineligible to claim any prize. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries allowed by using same, multiple/different email addresses, identities, or any other methods void that participant’s entries, and that participant may be disqualified. In the event the winner is subject to or the subject of any order or legal process issued by any governmental agency having jurisdiction over the affairs of the winner (i.e. garnishment, child support order, judgment, lien, and the like), NewsRadio 1070 WINA’s delivery of the prize to the official representative of the governmental entity claiming a right to the prize shall be thus deemed as (NewsRadio 1070 WINA) awarding the prize to the winner. NewsRadio 1070 WINA shall be entitled to rely in good faith, upon any documents presented by the representative seeking to collect the prize in lieu of the winner. NewsRadio 1070 WINA shall not be liable for any claim by any winner for damages incidental thereto.
8. All NewsRadio 1070 WINA contests are open to all eligible residents 18 or over (unless otherwise specified) living within 75 miles of station transmitter(s). Contestants must possess a valid form of identification bearing the picture of the contestant acceptable to NewsRadio 1070 WINA that will be presented to NewsRadio 1070 WINA and accepted before the prize is awarded. Employees of NewsRadio 1070 WINA, it's advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the NewsRadio 1070 WINA main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
9. Winners will be expected to claim prize at the NewsRadio 1070 WINA studios, 1140 Rose Hill Drive, Charlottesville, Virginia 22903, between 12:00pm – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) within 30 days of being notified that they are winners, unless there is an expiration date on prize, which will be specifically stated.
10. Where the prize(s) consists of paper tickets (“will-call tickets”) the winner will be directed to go to a specified address and retrieve the will-call tickets, and, by entering the contest, the contestant agrees to pick up will-call tickets and sign and deliver to NewsRadio 1070 WINA a waiver form as directed. Where the prize(s) consists of electronic (digital) concert or event tickets (“e-tickets”), the winner will receive an email from NewsRadio 1070 WINA with a hyperlink to an electronic waiver form that the winner must sign and return to the NewsRadio 1070 WINA before the prize will be transferred to the winner. The e-tickets will be transferred to the winner by NewsRadio 1070 WINA or, in some cases, by a third party (for example, Ticketmaster, LiveNation, etc.) and the winner must check his or her email account for an email or cellular mobile number for a text message from the ticket provider in order to download the e-tickets. Where e-tickets are a prize, as a condition of entering the contest, redeeming and using e-tickets requires the winner (i) to have a valid email address and an app-enabled mobile device capable of downloading and running a third-party mobile ticketing app (e.g., Ticketmaster, LiveNation, etc.); (ii) to install, or have already installed, such mobile ticketing app on their app-enabled mobile device; and (iii) to log into an existing user account or sign up for a free user account with the third-party operating such mobile ticketing app by completing a form with all required information, including, at a minimum, the winner's first name, last name, valid email address and telephone number. E-tickets awarded as a prize in such contests cannot be redeemed or used by any means other than the designated third-party mobile ticketing app for the e-tickets. Individuals who do not have a valid email address, access to an app-enabled mobile device and/or do not comply with these requirements will not be able to redeem or use e-tickets should they be selected and verified as a winner, will not receive a substitute prize, and should not enter contests where e-tickets are the prize.
11. NewsRadio 1070 WINA reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if any contest rules are violated in any way.
12. NewsRadio 1070 WINA assumes no liability for situations, repairs, or incidents arising from any aspect of any prize awarded in any contest. NewsRadio 1070 WINA, its advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees, and immediate families of each are absolved and shall be held harmless from any action or liability arising from any contest or prize awarded in any contest.
13. As a licensee of the FCC and a trustee of the public airwaves, NewsRadio 1070 WINA reserves the right to interrupt and/or discontinue any contest or promotion (and not award the offered prize) at the discretion of NewsRadio 1070 WINA management if world events, the national mood, or public safety so warrant.
14. NewsRadio 1070 WINA reserves the right to amend the rules to any contest at any time. NewsRadio 1070 WINA's decision is always final. In the event any one of the general contest rules which govern all NewsRadio 1070 WINA contests contradict with any specific contest term, the specific contest term will control.

17. For any contest involving on-line voting: If an entrant receives irregular votes, including but not limited to, votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, or other automated means, NewsRadio 1070 WINA reserves the right to disqualify the entrant in its sole discretion and/or use another means to determine the winner(s), ex. – random selection or appointing a panel of judges. *- For any contests involving tickets to live performances or events, winners will need to follow all COVID guidelines and protocols put in place by the concert organizer.
18. NewsRadio 1070 WINA is not responsible for for any event cancellations or reschedules.

NewsRadio 1070 WINA is not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or act of man or God, lost, late, misdirected, postage-due, unintelligible, returned, undelivered entries or email, or lost, interrupted or unavailable satellite, network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections availability, accessibility or traffic congestion, miscommunications, failed computer, network, telephone, satellite or cable hardware or software or lines, or technical failure, or jumbled, scrambled, delayed or misdirected transmissions, computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, or network. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of this contest or website, or act in violation of the official service, as solely determined by the station, will be disqualified. THESE OFFICIAL RULES GOVERN ONLY THE PROMOTION AND ARE NOT APPLICABLE TO ANY THIRD-PARTY CONTEST (DEFINED BELOW).

BY ENTERING THIS PROMOTION, YOU AGREE TO THESE OFFICIAL RULES, WHICH ARE A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE ENTRANT (“ENTRANT” OR “YOU”) AND APTIVADA, LLC. YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ THEM CAREFULLY BEFORE ENTERING.

Overview.

These “Official Rules” are for the 2023 Mother’s Day Giveaway Sweepstakes (the “Promotion”), which is sponsored by Audience, LLC (“Audience”), and presented in collaboration with participating local radio stations and other entities (each, a “Participating Entity,” and collectively with Audience, the “Promotion Entities”). You may enter the Promotion by completing an entry form on a Participating Entity’s website, as described in greater detail below, beginning at 12:00 AM EST on Monday, April 10th, 2023, and until 11:59 PM EST on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023 (the “Promotional Period”)

ANY WINNER WILL BE REQUIRED TO RESPOND TO WINNER NOTIFICATION AND OTHER COMMUNICATIONS FROM APTIVADA WITHIN FORTY-EIGHT (48) HOURS ACCORDING TO THE NOTICE(S) FROM APTIVADA OR THE PRIZE MAY BE FORFEITED (IN APTIVADA’S SOLE DISCRETION).

Eligibility.

The Promotion is open to all legal residents of the United States, including the District of Columbia, and Canada, excluding Quebec, who is 21 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of a Promotion Entity or any other television or radio stations located in the same market as a Participating Entity, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising or promotion partners (if any), and members of their immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings or children) or persons living in the same household (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate or win. This Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void outside the United States and Canada and where prohibited. Entrants who do not meet the eligibility requirements will be disqualified and unable to win.

Entrants must provide truthful information when entering the Promotion; Audience will reject and delete any entry that it finds to be false or fraudulent. Audience will disqualify any entry from any individual who does not meet the eligibility requirements, and will also delete any entry as required by law.

Entry Method.

During the Promotional Period, entrants may enter the Promotion by visiting the website of any Participating Entity and following all steps to complete and submit an entry form with all required information. Limit one (1) unique entry per person per Participating Entity per day.

Entrants must submit all information required on the entry form, which may include first and last name, telephone number, email address, home address, and/or date of birth. Entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning the email address or the domain associated with the submitted email address. Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same email address. Entries submitted will not be acknowledged or returned. Use of any device to automate entry is prohibited. Incorrect, illegible, corrupt, and incomplete entries are void. Proof of submission of an entry shall not be deemed proof of receipt.

A Participating Entity may offer entrants the opportunity to earn bonus entries throughout the Promotion Period. The availability of and means for earning such bonus entries shall be at the discretion of each Participating Entity. Any bonus entries earned throughout the Promotion Period will only apply to drawings for local prizing at the discretion of each Participating Entity. Again, any bonus entries earned throughout the Promotion Period will NOT apply to the drawing for the national grand prize.

All information entrants provide upon entering the Promotion is subject to Audience’s Privacy Policy, available at https://www.audience.io, For details about how information is collected and used by Participating Entities, entrants must refer to the applicable Participating Entity’s privacy policy.

The Promotion Entities are not responsible for technical outages, delays, or malfunctions of any kind, including those related to the Internet, cell phone service, or computer failures. Accordingly, the Promotion Entities are not responsible for errors or data loss of any kind, lost or unavailable Internet connections, failed, incomplete, garbled or deleted computer or network transmissions, inability to access any website or online service, any other error or malfunction, late, lost, illegible or misdirected entries, or for printing errors in any advertisement, entry form or rules.

Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void. If the Promotion Entities determine, in their sole discretion, that there is any suspected or actual electronic tampering with the Promotion or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of the Promotion, the Promotion Entities reserve the right to void the entries at issue and/or modify, suspend or terminate the Promotion. If, for any reason, the Promotion is not capable of running as planned, including because of tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Promotion Entities which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Promotion, the Promotion Entities reserve the right to modify, suspend or terminate the Promotion.

Any attempt by an entrant or any person to deliberately damage any website or social networking site used in the Promotion or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Promotion may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, Audience reserves the right to seek full prosecution and/or damages from any such individual to the fullest extent permitted by law. Audience’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

Prizes and Odds of Winning.

A total of one prize, in the amount of $2000 will be awarded. The Prize will be awarded in the form of a check from Audience and may take 6–8 weeks from the end of the Promotional Period to issue.

All prize details not specifically stated in these Official Rules will be determined by Audience in its sole discretion. All taxes (federal, state, and local) are the sole responsibility of the Winner. Winner will receive an IRS Form 1099 for the ARV of the prize. Prize will be mailed to the Winner following verification at the address provided by Winner.

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

The Prize cannot be transferred or substituted except in Audience’s sole discretion.

Audience reserves the right to substitute the Prize with a prize of comparable or greater value (as determined by Audience in its sole discretion). The Prize is expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and does not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses.

By accepting the Prize, the Winner agrees to release Audience and its advertising, promotion and production agencies and their respective parents and subsidiaries, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained directly or indirectly in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the Prize.

Third-Party Contests.

Each Participating Entity may offer entry into a local sweepstakes that is affiliated with the Promotion (a “Third-Party Contest”). Each Third-Party Contest is a separate sweepstakes governed by its own official rules. Please see the Third-Party Contest official rules from the Participating Entity through whom you entered for full details. Third-Party Contests are not endorsed by Audience under Audience’s control, and Audience is not responsible for the legality, appropriateness or any other aspect of such Third-Party Contests, or for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by your participation in any such Third-Party Contests. When you enter a Third-Party Contest, you do so at your own risk. Any bonus entries earned throughout the Promotion Period will only apply to drawings for local prizing at the discretion of each Participating Entity.

Winner Selection and Notification.

Decisions of Audience with respect to the Promotion, including winner selection and the awarding of prizes, are final and binding when made.

A Winner will be randomly selected from among all eligible entries via random drawing conducted on or about February 1st, 2023

The Winner will be contacted by Audience at the phone number or email provided at the time of entry. Audience is not responsible for any prize that cannot be awarded due to acts of God, acts of war, natural disasters, weather, acts of terrorism or other factors beyond Audience’s control.

Prior to awarding a prize, Audience in its sole discretion may require verification of the winner’s identity by a showing of valid government-issued photo ID.

General.

Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of Winner. Winner must execute and return any required IRS form (including IRS form 1099), affidavit of eligibility, liability and publicity release (where permitted by law), or similar document within ten (10) days of notification or Winner may be disqualified in Audience’s sole discretion and the prize will be forfeited.

Participating in the Promotion and accepting a prize constitutes the Winner’s permission for Audience or its agents to photograph, film, and record Winner, and to use his/her name, address (city and state), likeness, photograph, voice, biographical information and/ or any statements made by him/her regarding the Promotion or its sponsors for purposes of trade, publicity or promotion without additional financial or other compensation, and, Audience may, where legal, require the Winner to sign a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the prize.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, by participating in the Promotion and/or accepting a prize, an entrant understands and agrees to release and hold harmless Promotion Entities, and each of their respective parent, subsidiary and affiliated entities, advertising and promotion agencies, any social media platform utilized in the conduct of the Promotion (including but not limited to Facebook), and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents, representatives, successors, and assigns of each (collectively, the “Released Parties”) against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the Prize or the Promotion. You further understand and agree that all rights under Section 1542 of the Civil Code of California (“Section 1542”) and any similar law of any state or territory of the United States that may be applicable with respect to the foregoing release are hereby expressly and forever waived.

You acknowledge that Section 1542 provides that: “A GENERAL RELEASE DOES NOT EXTEND TO CLAIMS WHICH THE CREDITOR DOES NOT KNOW OR SUSPECT TO EXIST IN HIS OR HER FAVOR AT THE TIME OF EXECUTING THE RELEASE, WHICH, IF KNOWN BY HIM OR HER MUST HAVE MATERIALLY AFFECTED HIS OR HER SETTLEMENT WITH THE DEBTOR.” The releases hereunder are intended to apply to all claims not known or suspected to exist with the intent of waiving the effect of laws requiring the intent to release future unknown claims. The Federal Arbitration Act applies to this agreement, and if the parties are unable to resolve their dispute amicably, it shall be resolved by means of binding arbitration (not in a court of law); that any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Promotion, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action (even if the rules and procedures of the arbitration tribunal allow class arbitrations). The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules, including but not limited to the agreement to arbitrate, shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. If any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained herein.

Any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of- pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Promotion, but in no event and under no circumstances will entrants or winners be permitted to obtain awards for attorneys’ fees, and entrants hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, or any other form of damages, other than actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased; that any claim or dispute regarding the Promotion or these Official Rules will be resolved pursuant to the laws of the State or Commonwealth in which Audience is located, without regard to the conflicts of laws and rules of that State or Commonwealth; that any claim or dispute regarding the Promotion or these Official Rules will be resolved in a tribunal within the State of Utah, and entrants submit to the jurisdiction of and waive all objections to the jurisdiction or venue of such tribunal; and if for any reason a claim or dispute regarding the Promotion or these Official Rules proceeds in court rather than through arbitration, there will not be a jury trial.

These sales are the principal fundraiser for Friends of the Jefferson-Madison Library which covers a lot of important purposes to help the seven branches of the Library and it’s programs run!

There’s no better place to celebrate Independence Day than Monticello. Join us as we mark the 246th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence and welcome more than 50 new American citizens at our 60th annual Independence Day Celebration and Naturalization Ceremony.

This year’s event will also include:

Music from the Charlottesville Band and Charlottesville Opera.

After the ceremony, enjoy free root beer floats and kid’s activities on the West Lawn.

Ceremony starts at 9:00 a.m.

The holiday fun will begin on Monday, July 4th at 10 AM with a parade down Main Street in Stanardsville. The rest of the event will take place later in the evening between 6 and 10 PM at Morris Field in Ruckersville—across Route 33 from Ruckersville Elementary School. This is the same location that the event was held last year. Event gates will open at 5 PM. Visitors are strongly encouraged to car pool and to allow time for travel.

SANTA FUND COVID ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

It has been providing COVID assistance and recovery funding since March and have focused on promoting equity in access to our relief efforts. Many of the families already struggling with disparities have suffered an even greater impact during COVID. Therefore, they are expanding the current Santa fund by creating a separate process that will streamline approvals of requests.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.  – WINA)   A vacant seat on the U.S. Supreme Court will probably be filled on Monday, and Virginia’s two Senators will be no votes.  Senators Mark Warner (D- Alexandria) and Tim Kaine (D – Richmond) oppose President Trump’s choice of Amy Coney Barrett to succeed the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Both Warner and Kaine voted against Trump’s selections of Neil Gorsuch in 2017, and Brett Kavanugh the following year.  The last time a Virginia Democratic Senator voted for a GOP President’s choice was 29 years ago.

Chuck Robb joined Republican Senator John Warner when the Senate voted for Clarence Thomas in October 1991.
