I'll tell you up front: this episode is about mass shootings, and targeted violence based in bigotry, and the only, actual, real solution I have is to change our whole damn society. There's no simple self defense technique that will make you safe against domestic terrorism.

Beyond, "Avoid danger to begin with" and de-escalation, there's two basic strategies you apply whenever you have to use force for civilian self defense: 1) Stun & Run, 2) Do Serious Damage. Whatever you end up learning or training ends up being applied towards one or the other.
