This week I am sharing a private channeling session from last year with the underworld God of ancient Egypt, Anubis. Anubis was a jackal-headed god in ancient Egyptian religion, associated with the afterlife, death, and the protection of the dead. Here's a breakdown of his role and how he was worshipped:
Role and Responsibilities:
Guardian of the Dead: Anubis was primarily seen as the protector of the deceased. He watched over them as they journeyed to the afterlife.
* Embalming and Mummification: In some myths, Anubis was credited with inventing the mummification process, a crucial step in preserving bodies for the afterlife.
* Weighing of the Heart: A central belief in Egyptian mythology involved the weighing of the heart against the feather of Ma'at (truth) in the Hall of Two Truths. Anubis was often depicted overseeing this ceremony, ensuring fairness.
* Guide and Conductor:* Anubis was sometimes seen as a guide, leading the deceased through the underworld and towards Osiris, the god of the underworld.
Worship and Depictions:
Appearance: Anubis was most commonly depicted as a black jackal or a man with the head of a black jackal. Black was associated with rebirth and the fertile Nile River.
* Offerings: Egyptians made offerings to Anubis, often in the form of food, drink, or prayers, to ensure the safe passage of their loved ones into the afterlife.
* Cult Centers: While Anubis was worshipped throughout Egypt, his cult center was particularly prominent in the city of Cynopolis (modern-day El-Bahnasa).
* Hymns and Prayers:* Prayers and hymns were dedicated to Anubis, seeking his protection and guidance for the deceased.
Shifting Importance:
Early Dynasties: In the Early Dynastic Period and Old Kingdom (c. 3100-2100 BCE), Anubis held a prominent position as the primary god of the dead.
* Later Developments:* With the rise of Osiris as the central god of the underworld, Anubis' role shifted to that of an assistant and facilitator in the afterlife journey.
Anubis' legacy endures as a symbol of death, transformation, and the hope for a peaceful afterlife.

Mother Mary, also known as the Virgin Mary or Blessed Virgin Mary, holds a central and revered role in Christianity, particularly within Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. She is considered the mother of Jesus Christ, who is regarded as the Son of God in Christian theology. The New Testament provides accounts of Mary's life, particularly in the Gospels of Matthew, Luke, and John.
According to Christian tradition, Mary was a Jewish woman from Nazareth in the region of Galilee. She was betrothed to a man named Joseph when the archangel Gabriel appeared to her, announcing that she would conceive and bear a son by the power of the Holy Spirit. This event, known as the Annunciation, marks the beginning of the Incarnation, the belief that Jesus, as the Son of God, took on human form by being born of Mary.
Mary's pregnancy and the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem are central events in Christian belief, celebrated annually as part of the Christmas holiday. The Gospels describe Mary's role as Jesus' mother, emphasizing her faith, humility, and obedience to the will of God.
Mary is also present in accounts of Jesus' ministry, including his miracles and teachings. She is depicted as a supportive and devoted mother, following Jesus during his ministry and being present at significant moments, such as the Wedding at Cana, where Jesus performed his first miracle.
One of the most profound events in Mary's life within Christian tradition is her presence at the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. According to the Gospel of John, Jesus entrusted Mary to the care of the Apostle John while he was on the cross, symbolizing her role as a spiritual mother to all believers.
After Jesus' ascension into heaven, Mary is believed to have lived out the remainder of her life in prayer and contemplation. Catholic and Orthodox traditions hold that Mary was assumed bodily into heaven at the end of her earthly life, an event known as the Assumption.
Throughout Christian history, Mary has been venerated as a model of faith, purity, and motherly love. Devotion to Mary includes prayers, hymns, and feasts dedicated to her honor. She is often depicted in religious art, statues, and icons, symbolizing her role as the mother of Jesus and a spiritual intercessor for believers.

In this episode Hermes as Hermes Trismegistus dropped in for a quick discussion. Hermes Trismegistus, also known as "Hermes the Thrice-Great," was a legendary figure of Hellenistic Egypt who was considered to be the founder of alchemy, astrology, and other occult sciences. He was syncretized with the Egyptian god Thoth and the Greek god Hermes, combining their attributes and symbolism.
Hermes Trismegistus was said to have lived during the time of Moses and was believed to be a great sage, philosopher, and priest-king. He was credited with writing a vast corpus of works on various subjects, including philosophy, theology, alchemy, and astrology. These works, known as the Hermetica, were highly influential in the development of Western mysticism and occult traditions.
The true identity of Hermes Trismegistus is unknown, and there is no historical evidence to support his existence as a real person. However, he remains a significant figure in the history of esoteric thought, and his teachings continue to inspire practitioners of mysticism and alchemy.

She is mentioned by name several times in the Pyramid texts where she offers assistance to a dead king.

This week I am reviewing one of the oldest forms of divination, Bibliomancy. Bibliomancy is a form of divination whereby the seeker selects a book, usually a sacred text, and asks a question from spirit, and randomly selects a page from the book for the answer. This form of divination is not limited to the Bible - you can use any sacred text for guidance, such as the Iliad, Odyssey, Aeneid, Upanishads, etc. I will review how to divine with books and how to practice in a group setting.

In this episode, I review The Game of Life and How to Play it by Florence Scovel-Shinn. She was born Florence Scovel in Camden, New Jersey in 1871. While pursuing her own career as an illustrator, Shinn became a student of metaphysics, leading her to write The Game of Life, The Secret Door to Success, Your Word is Your Wand, and other books. She also became a popular spiritual lecturer and counselor. She died at home in Manhattan in October of 1940.
In the Game of Life, she says, "Life is a game, not a battle as most of us believe it to be. However, in order to know how to play the game, one must have knowledge of spiritual law."

Genevieve was born in 1881 in Paris and ended up becoming a teacher of New Thought, and created two schools of New Thought in New York and LA. She was a pupil of Thomas Troward, a leader in New Thought theory. This week, I am reviewing some of the "manifestation" principles espoused by Behrand as well as how she became a teacher of Mental Science and Mental Thought.
