Nathan was first introduced to Australia aged just seven, when the Today show covered his meeting with one of his guitar heroes, Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits.
This came about after Nathan was diagnosed with leukemia aged six, a year later (while still undergoing treatment) he was granted his wish to meet Knopfler through the Starlight Foundation.
By age eight Nathan was playing guitar on Hey Hey It’s Saturday, in front of millions.
Since then Nathan's life has had more ups and downs than a roller coaster at Gumbuya world!

Three Australians would get the call up to represent a WNBA team in 2024 and one of those was Jaz Shelly from Moe Gippsland.
Jaz has spent the last 5 years in the college system over in the USA playing basketball, and on Tuesday the dream of playing in the WNBA became real.

So, when the Basketball Victoria came to Gippsland with the idea of having one team represent the region, there were some mixed views from various local associations about the concept.
It would be decided that Gippsland United would be the club that would represent the region in the BIG V competition in 2022 and beyond, with expectation of finals the pass mark for both the men and women's team.
The men would win the 2022 BIG V title in Division 2 whilst the Women would make finals.
As the dust settled on the hectic and successful first year, movement has been made in the women's program in various roles including the coaching panel.
