Nature is a wise teacher, in subtle and raucous ways. In this mini listen we explore how nature can be a teacher and inspiration throughout the year. How the seasons come and go is a reflection of our own lives. Tending and mending, resting and reaping, sowing and harvesting, as nature intended it to be. Look for subtle clues and shifts or more dramatic changes for inspiration. Is it time to rest and rejuvenate or set out in the world, seeds scattered eventually ready to burst with life?

Welcome to the Self Care Passport Podcast and the Habitude series. Hello, I’m Janae your host and this series is about habits we would like to establish and the attitudes that go along with them. Short bite-size easy to listen to episodes that help you make shifts and changes that feel right for your daily life and beyond.
Today's episode focuses on our 5 senses, Sight (Vision) Hearing (Auditory) Smell (Olfactory) Taste (Gustatory) Touch (Tactile) All our knowledge begins with the senses. Engaging with our senses can become a tool to bring us closer to the present moment, and calm our thoughts and actions that tend to our nervous system.
Activating the simple 5 step process of taking note of what all our senses are telling us in the moment, brings awareness to our body and the felt sense of connection. Paying attention to what our body has right there before us is a gift that we can access at any time. Learning to heed your senses leads to having a new relationship or attitude with a simplistic but powerful method, bringing us awareness of ourselves and our bodies (Body-Mind Connection)

Each day is a little different when we think about hydration. Every day is a good day to make sure we are taking care of what our bodies need. Some days a few glasses are easy and some days it just isn't quite enough.
“In time and with water, everything changes.” ~ Leonardo da Vinci
In this episode I talk about ways to increase hydration and maintain that feeling. My biggest tip is to place opportunities wherever you go, after that you can add flavor, freshly squeezed lemon, electrolytes, and more. There is also the tip of staying away from things that dehydrate us. I'm not talking about exercise here, where we sweat it out but rather avoiding accessive alcohol, and diuretics such as coffee. Listen in to learn more.
There are formulas for how much you should drink. I personally can feel it in my body and gauge a day by how I digest and process the water. Our body gives us all the clues.
Your weight is one variable that changes the amount of water you should be drinking. To help you establish a baseline, you can use the following rule-of-thumb equation described in U.S. News & World Report. In short, the equation tells you to take half your body weight and drink that amount in ounces of water.
“We never know the worth of water till the well is dry.” ~ Thomas Fuller

The title says it all. Rambling by me, Janae, the host of the Self Care Passport Podcast. I take the entire month to not add any more in, feel into what worked the year before and adjust from there. I rest, reflect and revitalize both personally and professionally.
I am always looking for that common thread that ties life together and feels good on the inside. The Self Care Architect foundations come into play. I feel into them in Body, Mind & Soul as part of my January process. As mentioned in this podcast and countless times in previous episodes here are the nine Self Care Architect foundations:
(Self) Love
Soulful & Heart Centered Living
Finances (Abundant Living)
Boundaries
Community & Relationships
Health In Body, Mind & Soul
Creativity
How We Consume (digitally, emotionally, materialisticly, nutritionally)
Clarity

This epsiode dives into what it feels like to button up a 3 month long cleanout project. How to be kind to yourself while doing it and all the emotions that come up as you take on your wanted and unwanted material posessions.
You really realize doing some inner work around your values, actually simplifies your life and helps you walk your talk, make decisions, create community and a relationship to yourself that backs you up time and time again. The needed or desired boundaries become more clear as you step into this way of holding yourself accountable, creating some space for yourself amongst it all.
There are a lot of feelings tied up in what we physically have in our life. Having an emotional outlet beyond the acts of donating, recycling and trashing what you don't need, is essential self care. A lot of answers come in the doing, moving us forward.
Need support on your personal unpacking or want to get clear on your values? Reach out for a comfortable space to unlayer all the stored emotions and feelings that go along with your unpacking your life. Thanks for listening in. ~Janae

Hello again, This episode is about taking on all the emotions and physical trapping of too much stuff! Everything in storage is getting my attention. The simplification project outside the tiny house and inside myself continues on! I'm saying yes and no with equal amounts of enthusiasm and hopefully inspiring others to do the same. I've learned so much by taking this project on. It's freeing and worth the effort, both physically and emotionally.
Things that have helped with the simplification and sorting process:
Designated areas for Donate, Recycle/Garbage, Sell/Consign
Asking family members if they want any of the genrational goodies!
Putting more emotional/detailed sorting into labeled bins to go through in another season.
Be kind to yourself and allow all the emotions
Baby steps and all day clean outs are both form of progress.

Hello there, This episode is about not waiting for perfect conditions, listening to your body, and feeling the layers of your life. Physical and emotional memories may be in boxes in storage or buried deep within. Time to clear out and clear up what feels better on the inside and let go, donate, recycle, regift the rest.
Join me in taking on all the emotions and physical trapping of too much stuff; saying yes and no with equal amounts of enthusiasm! Let the simplification project outside the tiny house and inside myself begin!

Personal Revolutions come in many forms. In this episode we explore the power of rest, slowing down and words in many forms, particularly the power of a single word. Theme words for the year are a restful, fun and intriguing way to enter each day. They help us, find support for what life requires of us; delight in the doing and undoing in simple, abundant and embodied ways. Good things take time and intention. Finding the right questions to ask yourself gives you the best answers and keep your theme words top of mind. Janae's 2022 Word of the Year: Open, with personal curiosity guiding the way. Hello and welcome to the Simple, Abundant and Embodied podcast series with micro episodes here for you whenever you need them. Today we will be talking about Embodiment and Clarity, our final episode of this Self Care Architect trio and the entire mini series.
I encourage you to slow down, pause when needed, attune yourself, breathe deeply, spend time doing things you love, hanging out with people who feel good on the inside, love on your pets, your joys in whatever form. move your body and feel yourself relax even just for a moment. Build upon that one embodied step at a time. Moving our bodies moves us through emotions. Avoiding feelings is a form of stagnation. Use your body to live into your emotions as a healthy way to take areas of your life that need more joy, ease and calm. Bring yourself back home. This is a simple, abundant and embodied way of living that feels good inside and out.
“Let your body call you back into yourself, into your most deeply embodied self. Land, dive, soar. Find the crumbs that lead you back home.” ― Cheryl Pallant,

Hello and welcome to the Simple, Abundant and Embodied podcast series with micro episodes here for you whenever you need them. Today we will be talking about Abundance and Clarity
Abundance is a side effect of doing what we love fully and being who we are fully. It is a deep breath for our whole being. Moving into an abundant mindset from one of scarcity is life changing and brings us more clarity of what we truly want for ourselves. What do you truly want for yourself? This shift is transformational and is available to us freely. Accept where you are, who you are and revel in it. We are in command, not control of what happens or what has happened to us. Thinking about this from a state of abundance rather than lack and scarcity fills us up.
Getting clear that life happens for us not to us is expansive, abundant and enriching ultimately giving us a clarity and clear way of being that supports us through life's ups and down. As sweet as this sounds, we are not just here for the milk and cookies. We grow and expand in relationship to our courage to get clear on what we really want and how we want to feel at the end of each day. How do we bring in more clarity you may ask. Let’s face it life is complicated, get curious not complacent. Even if you don’t quite believe it yet or in every situation, Come from a place in your mind, where you are already worthy, walk into a room, engage in a conversation with clarity and conviction. This creates abundance within, little by little, step by step. Build upon that because truly you are enough, worthy and loveable just as you are.
Affirmation: “You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself.” – Jim Rohn

Hello and welcome to the Simple, Abundant and Embodied podcast series with micro episodes here for you whenever you need them. Today we will be talking about Embodiment and How we consume. Think Digital Intake, Emotional Thoughts, Materialistic Needs/Wants and Nutritional Choices.
The most basic lesson is thinking about our breathing, something we do naturally to stay alive. If we think about it as a tool that is already within us, you don’t have to add anything in to receive what you need. Exhale creates space for the inhale, walking away makes space for walking into something new.
Affirmation: “Minimalism is the intentional promotion of the things we most value and the removal of anything that distracts us from it.” Joshua Becker
Thank you and see you next time for more Simple, Abundant, Embodied Living with our next foundation - Our final trio of this mini series will be about exploring clarity in a simple, abundant and embodied manner.

By consuming less we have more time, space and mental clarity for ourselves. Notice what you can nurture with less?
Digital world, less notifications, allotted times instead of time drains of all day use, systems and structure = less distractions
Emotional clutter, breathe easier, pay attention to what is truly important.
Materialistic needs and wants, less to clean, clear and calculate (budget); quality over quantity.
Nutritional Choices, more energy, more conversation at meals or saying that you want to make some changes. These efforts honor yourself and others, feeling more whole and abundant.
Affirmation: Abundance is a process of letting go; that which is empty can receive. ~Bryant H. McGill

How can you simplify your choices to create space for yourself without out feeling saturated or personally consumed? Time to ponder, pause and live into what you really want. We will be talking about how we consume as a whole, with simplicity by our side. Simplifying always brings up a lot of questions within us to get down to what is important for us to have or not have in our lives.
Simplicity and Saturation comes to mind when considering how we consume, Digitally, Emotionally, Materialistically and Nutritionally.
How can you simplify your choices to create space for yourself without out feeling saturated or personally consumed? Time to ponder, pause and live into what you really want.

Hello and welcome to the Simple, Abundant and Embodied podcast series with micro episodes here for you whenever you need them. Today we will be talking about Embodiment and Creativity. Embodiment is really tuning into the clues that our body is sending us, listening within and basically following our intuition or gut instincts.
Activation Step: Move your body and listen within to support yourself. Creativity comes to us in so many forms, by moving our bodies we expand this concept.
Are you a believer that structure provides freedom? There is freedom and and more in structure. It sets up an abundant foundation that supports us as we explore an unlimited amount of possibilities. Creativity taken to heart via our thinking, creating, loving and more expands our life as we grow out of scarcity and into abundance one movement at a time.
Affirmation: Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist. Pablo Picasso
Please take to heart, the most loving form of embodiment is really listening to your body and not second guessing your first instinct. The world needs your creativity in all forms. Thank you for joining me today. Until next time, be your own best friend and learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist. Activation Step: Ever have thought about linear thinking versus creative thinking? Honor that energy. We can have it all through how we approach life and with creative thinking. It is the sprinkles on top, the lemon twist, the spice of life or that bit of unexpected joy and freedom of thought. This way of being, Expands our time, experiences and ultimately our joy.
Reaching out to a new experience creates abundance. Yes, maybe it will not go as you envisioned it but it creates an opennessness for more abundance, another experience or emotion that you hadn’t even thought was possible. Abundance is expansion in so many ways. In the wise words of Brene Brown: There is no innovation and creativity without failure. Period. Brené Brown
Affirmation: You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have. Maya Angelou

Welcome to the Simple, Abundant and Embodied Living mini series with the Self Care Passport podcast. This truly is a series dedicated to practical, magical and meaningful ways of getting what we want in your daily life and lightning the way for ourselves to move forward in a positive, impactful way.
Action Step: Take an honest look at yourself, your habits and rituals. Notice how you are feeling and call yourself out on what is snagging you into not living aligned and in harmony. And... hydrate, we are an internal ocean. Give your body some liquid love)
Affirmation: I trust and respect my intuition and my body's wisdom.
Today we will be talking about Embodiment, Community and Relationships. Embodiment is really tuning into the clues that our body is sending us, listening within and basically following our intuition or gut instincts. The body never lies and stores a multitude of resources for us to use for support and guidance. Awareness and insight is amplified when we use our body as a tool rather than obsessing over what we think is less than perfect about this beautiful machine that carries us around.
One of things we learn and live into through the Body Mind community is to honor the energy that is showing up, wrap it in love, and then invite the energy you want to feel. How can we ease forward in our lives by honoring who we are and the community and relationships we crave.
The most loving form of embodiment is really listening to your body and not second guessing your first instinct. Your body will reach out in pain, raised shoulders, headaches and more when we allow too much negativity or unanswered emotions to guide us.
Motion moves us physically and emotionally. Deep breathing, a 10 minute walk can do wonders, simple movements as you invite in the energy you want to feel are so helpful putting one foot and thought in front of the other will change you. Wrap yourself up!
We get down to the loving decisions when we are willing to change our atmosphere, patterns of movement and ways of interacting.
Affirmation: I am able to easily move forward in my life
Thank you for joining me today and see you next time for more Simple, Abundant, Embodied Living with our next foundation - Health in Body Mind & Soul
Today we are talking Abundance in regards to Community and Relationships. After our basic needs are met, the notion of abundance is less about material conditions, revolving instead around an appreciation of life in its fullness, joy and strength of mind, body and soul.
Your actionable step in creating more abundance is noticing where you feel most alive full of joy in your community and relationships. Honor that, say thank you and use that to guide you; deciding how you will be or not be part of a community. Ultimately we all deserve a nurturing and amazing community. Collect evidence where this is present in you life and lean into this as a guide.
Affirmation: I belong in a nurturing and amazing community.
Is anyone really the same these days? We are reevaluating, learning, growing, struggling, contemplating, accepting, resisting, resting, moving forward, mad as hell and more!
Community and Relationships aren’t simple, yet we can bring SIMPLICITY into the mix by tending to what we want and don’t want.
Activation Step: Notice the way you are interacting to support yourself, others and what is important to you. We are stronger in community and relationships when we care for ourselves. Care for ourselves, not comparing ourselves to others.
Affirmation: I only compare myself to myself.

In 2012, Sensi launched her eponymous swimwear label, Sensi Graves Bikinis, to meet the demands of her sport (after losing one too many string bikinis in the surf, she decided to tackle the job herself and design suits that actually stay on in rough conditions).
The Hood River, Oregon local also produces and leads empowering women's kiteboarding retreats and has traveled around the world as a motivational speaker.
We talked about her sustainable swimwear brand, caring for the environment, the power of water and community, relaxing into being proud of her accomplishments; being resilient and empowered, redefining failure and her passion for developing content for her community that empowers, uplifts, and inspires.

Have you ever wanted more, simplicity and ease in life, feel more abundance, while listening to the cues from your body? It feels good on the inside and the outside.
In this episode three questions are presented to ask yourself, before making decisions. The idea is to take yourself closer to where you want to be and how you want to feel, one step and choice at a time, all while listening to what your body is telling you. It's the Self Care Passport process in action.
Your decisions and choices are powerful, adding up to maintain and sustain a life you love. Saying yes and no with equal amounts of enthusiasm will come into play.
Questions to keep top of mind:
How can I keep this simple or add an element of simplicity to my life with this decision or choice?
How is this adding abundance in attitude or action to my life?
How is my body feeling as I contemplate this decision?
Checking in with yourself will change your world.

This episode of the Self Care Passport Podcast touched my heart as the girl I was long ago, and who still resides within to who I am today. There is so much to share and dive into when talking about suicide and mental health awareness. As Savannah Clements of, Keep Choosing Life a non profit confirms, there is no one size fits all when talking about mental health.
In this episode we talk about forgiveness, grace, helping others and how to keep choosing life everyday. May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Really, it is something to consider every day.
Mental health has been a huge topic of conversation during COVID-19 because of the effects of isolation on people. KCL wants to make sure you know that you are not alone.

Simplification and Energy Management
Opening up space within yourself and in your schedule is vitally important to living a life you love. Your memory space and physical body can get exhausted if we take on too much. It creeps up on us sometimes. We may actually enjoy what we are saying yes to, but too much input is confusing, causes stress and lack of lustre so to speak. We dull ourselves with too much.
There is a lot out there in the world to explore. This episode is dedicated to all the re words renew, refresh, relaxation, rejuvenate, relax and reevaluate and not forgetting about our responsibilities. I reevaluated recently and it felt so good, after the initial rearrange (another re word) that I wanted to share this with you.
Learn to say yes and no with equal amounts of enthusiasm. No, is a complete sentence with no explanation needed. Also included are ideas to have Movement, Money and Mindset feeling like love.

This podcast was originally an episode that I recorded with The Badassery Podcast, It was fun, inspiring and a step out of my comfort zone, being a guest on their show. It was the first time ever I heard my voice on this format. I'm excited to share this in reverse. The Badassery team graciously shared their audio with me. I loved doing this collaboration.
The Badassery theme is, Community is our Passion. This certainly is portrayed in this episode and in its original form. Here is what they had to say, as they introduced me, for their show a year ago this month.
Janae Fletcher has a unique take on what we would normally think of when we hear the term ‘Self Care’. As the creator of the Self Care Passport, Janae believes in each of us, being able to have more alignment, balance, flow and ease in our lives, whether it be our business or personal lives, enables us to develop deeper self awareness.
Janae is a believer of transforming each day into what we NEED it to be through self-awareness and simplifying materialistic ideals, while blending self care into an all encompassing lifestyle.

Foundation: Clarity
In this episode I talk about how I gained CLARITY by diving into the 9 Self Care Architect foundations with prompts such as Be, Be Courageous, Surrender, Be Loving and Allow.
The Self Care Architect foundations discussed are supported by the entire Self Care Architect series, starting at EP 11.
This practical approach to life and how I make choices came out of my desire to live a life I loved, moving through past trials and tribulations, anxiety, depression, healing from loss of loved ones, a marriage marred by emotional trauma, eventual divorce and “single” motherhood, raising young men that are stellar adults, my biggest worry and greatest triumph. I explain how my life is not how I imagined it.
Amongst it all I built a business from the ground up, while all of this was swirling around me and within me. I eventually found love again, a lengthy surrender, with the help of introspection a strong desire to change, supported by these foundations.
Motherhood, SELF CARE, tending to my business and love of many kinds brought me back to myself, raw but ready. I moved into finding my voice, speaking into my ideals and sharing it with others. Something at one point I thought would be impossible. I had been so caged and quieted that it hurt to physically be me. I used these foundations as my guide over the years and finally took that intentional leap to bring them more life sharing them with the world this last year via the podcast and with my clients.
My intent is to help others in practical ways with encouragement and a deep knowing that you can have a life you love, one step at a time.
Thank you for listening into this series. It is near and dear to my heart. ~Janae

How I thought about life and my desire for simplification and less clutter, both physically and emotionally, came to me with new insight, when I thought about it, as how I consumed life. This episode addresses many ways to live into that process.
