Today, it's easier than ever before to get caught up in pointless arguments—especially around non-essential beliefs, word choices, and traditions that only stir up division. The war has already been won—through the power of the cross, our enemy's defeated. Yet, as believers, we still face daily battles in the form of spiritual warfare. Still, the enemy seeks to deceive and destroy, using lies to pull us away from abiding in Christ. Daniel faces a life-threatening situation as a direct result of his faith and obedience to God. Daniel knows that Yahweh is king, and has made it his goal to bring people to faith in Him. In spite of this threat to life and limb brought by an unbeliever, and facing a torturous death, Daniel could still have peace, knowing that God is in complete control. How can we follow his example?

We conclude our series in Acts seeing that Paul has finally made it to Rome, having come through unimaginable hardships all the while. Paul believed that in spite of the treacherous journey he faced, that God was with him and would remain faithful. Most of us are in the middle of navigating a storm of some kind. Typically our first action is to attempt to navigate raging seas on our own strength. Could it be that these storms are used by God to show us how helpless we are without his strength? Will we turn from our striving and trust him? What do you need to surrender?

While God is working things out behind the scenes, and in people we may not expect, He preserves and protects His people and His Gospel. God is at work in all circumstances, even when it may appear that He is doing the opposite. Our job, like Paul's, is to trust God and be obedient to Him while the promise unfolds.
We live in a time where the truth of God's word is seen as out-of-touch at best, and hateful at worst. Those who do not tolerate God's way will ask us to forego truth for the sake of peace. We, those tasked with sharing the Gospel of Christ, will need to know how to respond. Will we persevere in a way that brings honor to Jesus or to ourselves?

Because Christ came to the world full of grace and truth, we should follow His example and love others with grace and truth. We tend to lean one way or the other. But we can learn from Christ, understanding what it means that He came full of grace, full of truth, and showed us how to strike that balance.
The prophecy in Genesis said that the offspring of Eve would crush the serpent's head, and the serpent would strike his heel. What does this even mean? What type of child could do this? What type of person could destroy satan, wash away our sin and overcome death? Only one person, the one to whom Mary gave birth and named Jesus. He is the one who will save his people from their sins. Has Christ done this for you? Is the Messiah your Lord?
Now that Christ has come, we are able to trust in His grace for salvation. This side of the cross, we no longer trust in religious dos and don'ts, or reduce our faith to checking off a bunch of boxes. Are you fully trusting in Jesus Christ and His righteousness applied to you through faith in Him? Will you rest in God's sovereign grace?
All those who place their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior are given the Holy Spirit to dwell inside them. But what is the Holy Spirit? Does He control us like a video game character, or let us do what we want? We'll see what it looks like to walk in step with the Holy Spirit and how we can hear His guidance, experience His comfort, and follow His lead.

From the beginning, the growing church had to be on the lookout for false teaching. Paul couldn't be everywhere, so he issued a charge to leadership, the shepherds of the church, to cling to the Gospel of grace they had been given. Even today, wolves can creep in and disrupt the work of the church. We'll discuss ways we can be aware of wolves and how God in His grace protects the church from a very real threat.

With just a word, we can bring destruction, or we can breathe life. What a kindness and gift to receive a word of encouragement, especially in times of true adversity. All of us can recall times when we've been affected by the words of another person, and we'll see how the power of grace and kind words propelled Paul through all types of trouble.
In order to receive Christ as one's Savior, a person needs not only to cede control of their own life to Him, but also relinquish the worship of all other gods. While we may not fall on our face in front of carved images, we need to rid ourselves of anything that takes God's rightful place on the throne of our hearts. This will not be a popular message in an increasingly hostile society toward God's word, but God is worthy of our trust and worship.

We live in a physical world, but there is also a spiritual realm. God warns us against entering into the spiritual realm in ways that He has not designed for us. This is a choice we have, and we'll discuss how we can avoid opening ourselves up to demonic influence, as well as the power and protection we have by the presence of the Holy Spirit.
There is nothing wrong with seeking knowledge, especially Biblically. But as we'll see on Sunday, knowledge will carry you only so far. We're not meant to live by sight, but by the Spirit. The power of the Holy Spirit, when we are under His influence, provides power and wisdom where our knowledge is deficient. But what does it take from us to experience this power?
Paul encounters obstacles both politically and culturally in his second missionary journey. We too as Christians will experience opposition to our faith, but how do we overcome it? What's the difference between compromising and conforming to culture at the expense of the gospel, and becoming all things to all people for the sake of the gospel?
Sometimes our obedience doesn't yield immediate results. There may be times when you know you have followed clear instruction from the Lord, you have sacrificed, been faithful, and God seems to suddenly go silent. This Sunday, we'll see how Paul handled this exact situation, how he reacted, and what God did.
Last week we talked about how to be prepared for Christ's return. This week we will look at a story Christ tells that will demonstrate proof of that readiness, so that when we encounter Christ on the day of the Lord, we will hear Him say "Well done, share your master's happiness." Will you be ready? How does your life show it?
Are you reading the signs? Seems like each day there's a new reason to believe the end is near. But we trust Christ to faithfully keep his promises, and He has shown us ways to be prepared for a day that will arrive like a thief in the night. Are you ready?
A servant is forgiven a massive debt but refuses to show mercy to a fellow servant with a smaller debt. The master condemns the unforgiving servant's lack of compassion, emphasizing the need to forgive as we've been forgiven. Does our compassion reflect the degree to which we've been forgiven?
It's no surprise to God that we would face fear and anxiety, but like always, He provides reassurance and strength to face anything that comes. So what do we do when fear strikes? How do we cast our anxieties onto God and what should we look for from Him?
Clean and unclean are two common terms we see God use throughout the Bible. These terms are used to describe places, animals, objects, and even people. God calls his people to discern what is clean and unclean. But what happens when we get it wrong and mislabel people? The Pharisees in the NT were confident that they were right, but were they? How do we avoid falling into the same trap and being guilty of spreading what the Bible calls “The yeast of the Pharisees?”
"Don't judge me!" Usually heard when someone doesn't want to be embarrassed about some quirk in their personality. Nearly as often, a heart's cry in times of weakness or fear of someone forming a wrong opinion about us. But why does Christ utter these words? Is He really forbidding discernment or using good judgment? Or is this a reminder of His grace?
"God is Love!" It's a mantra repeated by those who claim to know Him, and 1 John 4 tells us it's so in His own words. But what does this mean? Why is it so important that we understand what love truly is? After all, our understanding of what love is will inform our understanding of who Jesus is.
All those who trust Christ as Savior will spend eternity in glory with God. Isn't it enough though to just get to glory? But how do we do that? How do we trade the risky and perishable investments of this world and trade them in for eternal rewards?
in Luke's account of the Gospel, he writes that Christ came to call sinners to repentance. Well, what is repentance? Simply apologizing? Feeling bad about something we did? Or is it something greater? We'll look at what Jesus means by repentance, why it matters, and what we can do about it.
We know that God has promised to never leave us or forsake us. David even pondered, "Where can i go from your presence?" But haven't we all endured times where it seemed like God was ignoring us? When our cries seemed to fall on deaf ears? So how do we endure? How do we set our hearts on God during those exhausting times?
Are you a Christ follower? One of the ways we can tell for sure is how He has changed our lives. Though our decision to follow Him may not result in earthly wealth, power and esteem, it will certainly result in surrender to and complete trust in Him. We'll examine what God calls us out of and what He calls us to when we decide to follow Jesus.
On a day we celebrate fatherhood, it's the perfect Sunday to take a closer look at "how we should pray" as Jesus demonstrates in Matthew 6. The Lord's Prayer demonstrates how God relates to us as His children, how we should see Him, and how prayer invites Him to be Lord of our lives and circumstances. Will we as His children trust in His kindness and declare Him to be King?
As Paul continues to share the gospel in Athens, he encounters an alter inscribed with "TO AN UNKNOWN GOD." Seems silly to not know what or who you are worshiping, doesn't it? But Paul used this situation to share who God is to a people who did not know him. Will we be people bold with the Gospel, and able to share Christ in any circumstance?
There are so many good things we can be doing throughout our lives and with the time we have, but If we are to truly become the people Jesus calls us to be—we MUST be a people who rightly view and consume the Word of God. How we view and engage the Bible makes all the difference!
Why did Jesus have to suffer, die, and rise from the dead? This question is arguably the most important question anyone will ever ask. Why is this so important? There are very real and lasting implications in how we answer. Our responses have a direct affect on our life today, for the rest of our time on earth, and for all of eternity.
As physical and spiritual beings, we have the ability to tap into the power of the spiritual realm—both the spiritual realm of light and the spiritual realm of darkness. God's Word instructs us how to be influenced by the Holy Spirit and how to avoid being influenced by evil spirits, which will open us up to oppression and darkness. When we seek Jesus through the spiritual disciplines of the faith, we find freedom.
As we continue in Acts, we encounter a woman named Lydia. Through her leadership, generosity, and receptiveness to the Gospel, Lydia became a catalyst for spreading God's message. We'll see through her example and several others God's design for women to think and serve and lead in the Church.
As Christians, we may find ourselves disagreeing (sometimes sharply) with our brothers and sisters. Is someone right? Is the other party wrong? We'll look at a contentious situation between Paul and Barnabas and how God worked through it and received glory in spite of their differences.
What about those Old Testament laws? Do they still apply to us today? What about the new thing Jesus did? We will look at how Christ fulfilled the orders from those laws, and what applies to His people today.
The grace of God is an incredible thing. It frees us from a bunch of rituals and traditions that we may think we need to continue doing in order to maintain the salvation Christ gave us at the cross. So what's the harm in placing unnecessary rules and regulations and traditions on people, and how do we avoid it?
We've all encountered someone in our lives who impressed us with their talent, charm and charisma, making it easy to want to align ourselves with them. We'll see an incident in our text that Paul and Barnabas encountered that demonstrates how ill-advised it is to idolize a human person, and instead shows us the need to keep Christ on the throne of our hearts.
The Messiah was prophesied and promised long ago, and Paul’s speech in Acts 13 has one purpose: to demonstrate to the Jews how the promises of God to them were fulfilled in Jesus Christ. The ultimate proof? That Christ rose from the dead. We'll see that because Christ has risen, He is therefore worthy of honor and praise. Will you crown Him King today?
The "Gospel" is the good news of Jesus Christ, the Redeemer, sent to be the Savior of the World. Some will receive it and others will reject it, and regardless of the results, the Gospel is always worthy of being preached. To everyone, everywhere, laden with love and the wisdom of the Holy Spirit.
We live in a world that caters to our every desire, designed to make our lives easier. The calling God places on our lives is often anything but comfortable. We'll look at how God is glorified when we remain faithful to Him and how we can draw strength from Him to commit to that high calling He ordained for us.
Our God is a loving and gracious God, and one of the reasons we know this to be true is that He is adamantly protective of His glory. This Sunday, we'll see a couple scenarios in our text where people set themselves up against what God is doing, and how God intervenes. We'll see how the actions God takes are meant to protect His church and the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Ever pray for something so big that only God could accomplish it? Do we trust God enough to pray for the impossible? Maybe we call on God to work in a miraculous way. Maybe we need deliverance from something that imprisons us. Our first move as a believer must be prayer, and we'll talk about how and why this Sunday.
As the Gospel of Jesus spreads outside ethnic and social lines, God makes it clear that all are welcome and invited before the throne of grace. The table of fellowship has seats for both Jews and Gentiles. This has significant and far-reaching implications for the fledgling church.
The second half of Acts 10 shows us the amazing grace of God as salvation through Jesus Christ crosses ethnic lines and the good news spreads from Judea and Samaria into the Gentile world. In this story, the Apostle Peter is given the privilege of preaching the good news of Jesus to Cornelius, a Roman Centurion whom God had been preparing to hear the message of salvation. Come this Sunday and see how this "Gentile Pentecost" unfolds.
While God chose the nation of Israel to accomplish His will on Earth, it became easy for the people to fall into the trap of superiority, thinking they were simply better because of it. God reveals the sin of prejudice in the early church, showing them through Christ that the Gospel is for all people, regardless of ethnicity.
The phrase "God is sovereign" declares that God is in control over all the details of our lives. We may make plans that seem right to us, or think we know best, and then God has other ideas. When we are so used to being in control, how do we submit to God, trusting him to work things out according to His will?
We continue with the amazing story of Saul, whose miraculous conversion set off a spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that no one could have ever predicted. Ever wonder what purpose God has for you in the various details of your life that seem insignificant, but ultimately accomplish His purpose?
The Conversion of Saul demonstrates the great lengths to which God will go to save someone, and shows that there is no one beyond the reach of His saving power. But there's a lesson from Saul's life that we all must learn especially if we consider ourselves zealous for God.
Chances are good that the Holy Spirit has prompted us to do something that we're nervous about, especially in terms of sharing the Gospel of Jesus. Maybe we have limited knowledge. Maybe we lack confidence in our own abilities. But God is constantly preparing the way and the conversation. How do we step out in faith and trust that the Holy Spirit will empower us?
At times in our lives, we all face seasons of uncertainty, difficulty and even tragedy. During these times, will we rest into the power of God and His sovereignty, trusting Him to lead us through and make us more like Christ? We will take a look at how this Sunday as we look at Acts 8.
As the calendar flips to 2023, we may be making resolutions to make changes in our lives, maybe to eat better, read more, or take up a new hobby. While those are great ideas, the best thing we as Christians can do in the new year is to trust the Holy Spirit and walk in obedience to Him. We'll examine how this Sunday.
When Jesus ascended, He gave the church the power to accomplish His will and His purpose. As times continue to grow darker, the need for God's Church to remain in Him remains constant. What is that power, and what can the Church accomplish through Him?

In an ever-darkening world, the light of Christ shines more brilliantly. While the darkness may be intimidating, God faithfully provides His people with power and confidence to not simply endure, but to overcome. But we need to know Jesus. We'll examine the power available to believers this Sunday and see how we can apply it in our lives.
As the church began to grow, the apostles were given the ability to perform miracles. These sensational, Spirit-empowered acts were intended not just to impress the crowds, but to bring glory to God for the purpose of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. How can God supernaturally work through you and your faith?
When we become Christians, the Holy Spirit empowers us in two ways. One is an ability to listen for and discern God's voice in the circumstances of our lives, and the second is the ability to be God's mouthpiece for messages He may have to others. But how do we recognize God's voice? How do we put that power to use? 🔥
A loud sound like a violent wind from heaven, tongues of fire and everyone hearing the Gospel in their own language! The first believers receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, and this Sunday, we'll see the amazing ways the Spirit works through the people and the church as a result.
Has God made you a promise during the course of your life? Remember what it was like when that promise was fulfilled? For many of us, maybe we're still waiting. In the meantime, what does God expect from us while we wait for His promises to come to fruition?
A new day is being birthed. A new era is beginning. Jesus ascended, leaving His disciples behind, but equipping them with the help of the promised Holy Spirit to begin the Church. The book of Acts contains the fulfillments of these incredible prophecies, and we'll look at a way the Holy Spirit operates among the believers like never before!
Whether you have a specific gifting of evangelism or not, sharing Jesus together means that the call of God is on each person in the Church to play a role in non-believers being able to effectively hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We'll look at examples from God's word how we can be ready and equipped to intentionally proclaim Christ to the world through our lives.
Sunday we welcome special guest speaker Reverend Bruce Huseby to deliver a look at Genesis 3, and the importance of knowing and seeking what is true. Bruce serves as Global Advisor for Crossover Global, a church planting organization that desires to see God glorified by providing gospel access through the planting of multiplying churches among unreached peoples.
You don't have to read far into God's word to find promises...they permeate scripture. Time after time we see God make, keep and fulfill promises. So what shakes our faith in the promises God makes? This Sunday we'll see why that happens and how God is worth of our trust.
We will encounter church leaders and teachers who claim and may have the outward appearance to be from God, and doing God's work. But what's real? What's true? Are you able to see through the smoke and mirrors to spot a wolf? We'll talk through some ways to spot these false teachers and listen to God's Spirit of truth.
God's desire for us is to pursue personal and practical holiness. Though we are righteous in God's eyes, we're still human, and prone to sin. While God is gracious, His word prescribes steps we as His children can take to live in right relationship with Him when we fail.
God designed His church to honor and obey Him, being His hands and feet on the earth. Part of this design are measures to care for and correct the church when issues of sin need to be addressed. This Sunday we'll see what He has set up and the reasons for it. Will we as the church humbly submit to Him?
The 23rd Psalm is one of the most well-known and beloved passages of scripture. While it serves as a great comfort during difficult times, there are several implications on a deeper level that we would be wise to cling to.
Anxiety is an emotion, and one that can cripple an immobilize us if we do not confront it. And like all emotions, God knows we will experience it, and can use it to draw us closer to Himself. How do we take it to Him and how do we get the Lord's peace when we experience anxiety?
This Sunday, we'll examine a story Jesus told of a young man who abandoned his father and family to stray into ungodliness. We'll pull out several principles from this incredible story serving to challenge and equip fathers to live up to the role God ordained for them.
God’s glory is very literally the most important—significant—goal and movement of the entire universe. It’s what all things are moving towards! We have a role to play in that, and we get to choose what our role is. One leads to our ultimate satisfaction in life and God receiving the glory he’s due, the other to perpetual dissatisfaction, wondering why we exist as we seek our own glory or glory in lesser things.
As we return to our series in Ephesians, we see Paul's instructions to the church as to how we can bring glory to God in the workplace. The way we carry ourselves and the attitudes we show to our supervisors/bosses/coworkers directly reflect the degree of our submission to Christ.
Friday night, we gather together as believers inJesus Christ to both mourn the crucifixion of Christ, but also rejoice in what it accomplished. How can we worship through two seemingly opposite emotions?
We may not agree on everything, and that's ok. Diversity is a part of God's Church. But we must remember that God designed for His church to be unified on essential things. So how do we remain unified when we disagree on seemingly important matters?
All of God's children have a calling on their lives. Do you know yours? As we continue through Ephesians, Paul describes his calling, his passion for it, and how he's living it out as an example for us.
We've come to the point in our study of Nehemiah that the wall is complete. What God has called His people to do has been accomplished. It's time to celebrate! Will we be a people that finds joy in celebrating the presence of God in our lives? Do our lives reflect a heart of worship toward Him?
