On today's episode of Go Be Wyoming, Aaron had the pleasure to interview Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2022, Madelaine McElwee. They talk about Madelaine's current rodeo schedule and her preparation for Miss Rodeo America. Madelaine has been keeping herself busy by keeping up with her aviation certifications, traveling to Florida and Alaska but ultimately ended back up in the State that she loves. Madelaine was born and raised in Laramie, WY she talks about her upbringing and how her support from her family encouraged her to become a Rodeo Queen.

She talks about the Mrs. America and Miss America Strong pageants and organizations which allow married, mothers, or single mothers to compete in their respective pageants. Brooke also talks about her work in Thankful Thursdays in Cheyenne, WY and her experience with recovery.

Today's episode of Give No Ground is part one of our series taking a deeper look into the Energy sectors of Wyoming. Part 1 is an overview of the financial history and tax revenue from all sectors (i.e. oil, natural gas, coal, wind and solar). Wyoming has to take a good look at reality when discussing the 'legacy' industries (oil, natural gas and coal) versus renewables (wind and solar). Also, in the same breath since the energy, and natural resource economy (mining, etc.) provides so much to the State's budget - Wyoming needs to review the current spending and costs of services across the State.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. The legacy industries still provide close to $1.5 - $2 Billion dollars in tax revenue when solar and wind barely cover $50 million a year. Compared next to the yearly State budget which is close to $2 Billion... something will have to give.

On today's episode of Go Be Wyoming, Aaron was able to catch up with host of the "Ramble Room Podcast" and candidate for Wyoming House of Representatives House District 29, Ken Pendergraft. Ken is a carpenter by trade (Aaron recorded this episode in his new studio at Cross Creek Media) and was a pastor. Aaron and Ken talk about Ken's motivation to run for HD29 and what he sees needs to be done at the State level for Wyoming's major issues; finanical stability, education and economy.

Ken also gives some background and history to the now infamous, "Oath Keepers" group. The Wyoming chapter of the Oath Keepers - as far as Ken is aware (and other founding members), the group was started around 2006-2009 and has had no significant activity since. This leads Aaron and Ken to discuss the current state of Wyoming media outlets and the large disparity of dis/misinformation.

On Today’s episode of Go Be Wyoming, Aaron had the pleasure to interview 17-year DCI (Division of Criminal Investigation) Detective, Chris McDonald. Chris is the Team Leader for the ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) division for the State of Wyoming. Chris briefly describes the laws and rules of enforcement for Detectives within the DCI throughout Wyoming. They cover what a day-to-day and week-to-week looks like for DCI and ICAC agents. DCI are also the detectives that investigate and gather the evidence in any officer involved shooting across the state and provide that information to the local County District Attorney’s Office to make the final determination. The DCI reports directly to the Attorney General and Governor’s office – but obviously works closely with local law enforcement agencies. At ICAC, they receive internet tips from the NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children) who have received majority of the tips from the large tech companies who flag potential internet crimes. Learn more about ICAC and Internet Crimes – if you are a parent or educator this is a great episode to learn about ways to prevent these crimes or to catch exploitation online.

At the end, since April 7th was National Beer day - brought in a sneak preview of a Jackson Hole brewery, Snake River's latest beer, "Code III". An IPA that hopes to embody Code III of the Cowboy Code of Ethics.

Governor Gordon is a Wyoming native from Johnson County and served as the State Treasurer from 2012 to 2019. Under his tenure as Treasurer, Governor Gordon led Wyoming to have the No.1 ranked managed funds in the U.S. and No.3 worldwide in 2016. On this episode Aaron and Gov. Gordon discuss economic and energy initiatives such as the Western Inter State Hydrogen Hub Coalition (CO, UT, NM *potentially MT), the IIJA (Federal Infrastructure Bill) and Wyoming’s top priorities regarding agriculture, roads, and broadband.

Lastly, the importance of blockchain development and how Wyoming is leading the way in this industry nationwide.
