DJ Emma is a DJ, producer and broadcaster from Wiltshire with a passion for Soul, Funk, Boogie, Disco and House Music. She has performed at many of the UK festivals including Glastonbury, Creamfields, Camp Bestival, Wilderness, Shindig and was asked this summer by Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy to do a special ‘Balearic Breakfast’ set at We Out Here Festival in her iconic ‘Love Dancin’ tent.
Ahead of his appearance at Club Samba, Soho for Moodeena presents Young Pulse dropped a sick mixtape. 1 hour of disco, boogie and house featuring some rare YP edits and exclusive unreleased tracks.

Rare Wiri has been described by the label's architect Rayko as his 'Ugly Baby' - which at the time I took to mean a labour of love, a duty and perhaps something that wasn't appreciated, cherished nor celebrated by anyone outside of the immediate family. This was some years ago and a whole lot has changed since then.
I caught up with Rayko recently to discuss life in 2020/21, his situation in Madrid and how he has coped with the restrictions and differences brought about by Covid-19.
Initially there was a sense of shock with the infection rates, the fear and high death rates which led to the unprecedented restrictions in Spain, complete with militia style policing, on the spot fines and street arrests for those flouting the rules.
Madrid was shutdown. People were barely allowed to leave their homes and apart from a short trip to the local shops for supplies only dog walkers and police were on the streets.
It wasn't long before Rayko spotted a craze emerging on the streets of Madrid, which he called me about. People has started to walk fake dogs on home crafted leads in order to take more time outdoors. This hilarious and creative response to the restrictions imposed, appealed to his sense of fun and humour.
Next came the first heavy snowfall in living memory, the city was covered in deep white drifts for well over a week. Weird times indeed.
Rayko reacted well to the new normal and has spent this past year in his own deeply creative period working on new tracks including a series of originals featuring Elena Hikari on vocals.
His label Rare Wiri is now a centurion with just over 100 releases and a cast of artists including Danielle Baldelli, Eric Duncan, Psychemagik, Ilya Santana, In Flagranti, Sauco and of course Rayko.
The past year has given us a chance to reflect on many things and identify what is important to us all. Rayko and I have enjoyed a close relationship for many years and refer to one another as disco brothers. He was the very first artist I signed at Unity after tracking him down to meet in a seedy nightclub in Paris. We have endured some tricky times over the years and celebrated many, many more together on dance floors and DJ booths around Europe.
The core of our relationship has always been about music, Rayko's commitment and obsessive focus on what he believes to be great music has never wavered. He generates more content than any other artist I represent or have ever worked with. He produces a constant stream of originals, reworks, remixes, re-edits and artwork. recently he has started to make videos for many Rare Wiri releases too.
Rayko has a spirit of kindness and generosity that has seen him put out more mixtapes for blogs, labels and fans than most of us have hot dinners. Rayko (meaning Rock)is a man of stamina and will continue long after many will have called it a day. Just ask anyone that's partied with him, he still looks fresh at 7am ...on day 2!!
Naturally, he was more than willing to put a mix together for the Unity agency recently, however we decided to explore some of the different ideas and music he is into for this one. Rayko sports a large Vangelis tattoo on his forearm and has long lauded the brilliance of Tangerine Dream from an array of afterparty sofas, so I suggested we dig deeper into this arena of talent for the mix.
I am absolutely delighted with what he sent across and have been hoarding it for way too long. Thank you Rayko - See you on a dancefloor soon, my disco brother.

To say we are quite taken with Ralph Session is an understatement. His label 'Half Assed' is home to some of the best house tracks we've heard this year, the more we listened, the more we liked. Unity's founder Pablo Contraband took a handful out and road tested them with superb reactions and feedback so naturally our next step was to get in touch and get better acquainted.
We are very happy to announce Half Assed Records label boss and producer/DJ Ralph Session has joined The Unity Agency roster, and we are excited to be working with such an amazing talent.

New York born and bred, Ralph Session produces an intoxicating brand of contemporary house music that draws on the soulful and jazzy classic NY sound and the raw bompty shuffle of Chicago house. Opening set at what proved to be a fantastic night. Brixton Disco Festival had sold out it's Encore at Brixton Electric with Pablo kicking things off before Dimitri from Paris and Late Nite Tuff Guy.
Pablo Contraband has enjoyed quite a summer celebrating 10 years of his Disco Deviant club night, debuting at Sub Club and XOYO and touring extensively with other members of the Unity roster. Other highlights including Brixton Disco Festival and the Disco Deviant Finale in his hometown have made 2018 a year to remember. Next up are all night long sets with Unity stable mate Nick the Record scheduled in London and Edinburgh this November.
Plans are taking shape for a 10 years of Disco Deviant tour in 2019 with special guests handpicked from the roster - this series which will include LNTG, Dr Packer, Rayko, The Reflex joining Pablo for the night or hosting staged at festivals. Get in touch to be part of this series.

Leipzig based house head M.ono got this one together for us just in time for the weekend. Groove laden house with plenty of energy, often taking us down deeper before bursting back up for air.
He's been hard at it in the studio recently and there are plenty of releases both current and forthcoming with his name on them. His recent outings include Honey Butter, Dirt Crew,Traxx and a return to his own Rose Records.
There's more to come and we are happy to say he's ready to get back on the road.

2017 proved to be an amazing year for Dr Packer. He's released and remixed at a relentless pace for Salsoul, Defected, Glitterbox, Z Records, File Under Disco, Midnight Riot, Soul Heaven and Nang – The Perth-based DJ, originally from Northampton, has seen his profile raise significantly in 2017, with a series of European dates and Australian festival appearances helping further enhance his burgeoning reputation.
He then went on to be awarded Traxsource #1 Disco Artist of 2017 and scored 6 entries in Greg Wilson's 20 choice edits of 2017.
We are excited about what 2018 has in store for the Doc. It already looks set to be MASSIVE!

Andrew Weatherall playing at Disco Deviant in Brighton. A distinctive and vintage sound to his selections, most of the tracks played were over 20 years old. This was brought about by the fact that due to Andrew moving studio, he had been sorting and selling a lot of vinyl over the last month or two. Some of these were left over from these sessions and made for an excellent party.
