The exhibition features a selection of artists, including Geir Harald Samuelsen, Anne Ingeborg Biringvad, Fredrik K.B., Christer Karlstad, and Hanne-May Scheen.
The Motherland Art Exchange brings together artists from both Norway and the U.S. to reflect on complex concepts like migration, identity, and belonging through striking contemporary art. Commemorating 200 years of Norwegian immigration to America, the exhibition traces the journey from shared heritage to an evolving cultural exchange, reminding us how historical movements continue to shape our present-day identities. The exhibit opens on October 10th at Nine Mile Gallery.

Host Gregory Rich welcomes Twin Cities based artist Bob Hest. Bob believes “a successful painting must tell the audience who that person is,” and his bold, expressive style reflects just that—portraits not just of faces, but of emotion, story, and identity as well as abstracts that are not your typical landscapes, objects and events. Bob creates emotions on canvas (and other substrates). This episode explores what drives Bob’s unique approach to art, the role of empathy in visual storytelling, and yes—his favorite cocktail while painting.
