Enlighten & Envision is a regular podcast facilitated by Claudia Ferryman, award-winning instructor, speaker and author. Each episode is designed to educate individuals in how to develop their adaptive capacity and to build psychological resources for resilience. Each podcast is between 5-30 minutes and covers tools and topics ranging from mindfulness, meditation, compassion fatigue, emotional intelligence, NLP and cognitive behavioural change. Many of the concepts, tools and techniques discussed are based upon Claudia's books Emotional Resilience and The Communication Chameleon.
This 10 minute mindfulness practice will help you fall into a deep, restful sleep. You will progressively scan your body from head to toe as you allow this deep breathing meditation to relax any tension you might be holding in your body. Explore this practice to calm your mind and body and bring awareness to the present moment, and dampen down the overactive thinking that might be keeping you awake.
Repetition of positive affirmations while in a meditative state are an effective way to re-condition your thoughts and feelings. In this 4-minute episode you will be guided to say a series of powerful and positive statements to yourself.
This affirmation is filled with statements that empower you to be calmer, more relaxed, healthier, confident and courageous. Research indicates that it takes 66 days of consecutive repetition to create a new habit, so remember to reserve a few minutes each and every day, to say these powerful and healing suggestions to yourself.
Repetition of positive affirmations, especially during meditation, are well known to help us shift negative thinking patterns that can change the way we feel and eventually help us to change unwanted behaviours.
Affirmations are also proven to lower our stress levels, decrease anxiety, improve our confidence and concentration as well as help us feel more in control of our well-being. This is in large part, because affirmations can work on a subconscious level to recondition thinking patterns to promote a sense of empowerment.
In this 7-minute guided visualization, I will be declaring a series of positive affirmations specifically designed to strengthen your self-esteem, confidence and overall well-being. I recommend that you use this frequently to embed these beneficial suggestions in your mind where they will have a positive affect on you mentally, physically and emotionally.
The Heart-Centred Breathing Meditation is a 6 minute practice that is ideal for calming your emotions as well as reducing unpleasant feelings such as anxiety. In this meditation you will be directing your attention to your heart and the centre of your chest as you deepen your breathing.
This meditation can provide a natural opening of your heart's intuition, as well as a deepening of the communication between mind and heart. This is a great meditation to do on the weekends or when you have a bit more time to contemplate before and after practice. Just before you start, bring to mind a problem you would like to solve, do the meditation and then take some time to reflect on what came up for you by writing in your journal.
The following 8-minute meditation is especially important for those who are caring for others, and who might be susceptible to burnout or to taking on the emotions of others. It's important to practice this each and every day as a form of self- care.
Research in mindfulness suggests that doing this Loving-kindness practice will help you to build up your self-compassion and compassion for others. Doing this practice every morning is an excellent way to prime your mind, body and emotions for the day’s work and to you enhance your resilience.
The first 48 seconds of the podcast is an introduction which you can fast forward to go directly to the meditation.
This 8 minute meditation is a great practice for releasing tension from your upper body, especially tension in the neck and shoulders where most of us hold our tension. The mediation combines gentle stretches along with breath-work, to elicit deep relaxation as you nourish the mind and body. I highly recommend using this meditation during the day or evening to release any build-up of muscle tension in the body.

This is a three-minute introductory mindfulness practice that works for everyone, whether you are a beginner or experienced at meditation. This guided meditation uses the breath as a focus for attention and is designed to reduce mental chatter and induce a sense of well-being.
This is a simple practice that you can use throughout the day to refresh and calm the mind as well as relax the body.
This is an eight-minute guided meditation designed to help you become more grounded in your mind and body.
To be grounded means you are confident with who you are; your mind is calm and you are able to pay attention to what is going on inside yourself as well as what's going on around you. When you are grounded and centered, you tend to be calmer in stressful situations as well as able to think more critically in order to make better decisions.
I recommend using this meditation as part of your waking up morning practice or winding down evening practice, or anytime you feel you need a longer mindful practice to unplug from the whirlwind of your day.
This calming five-minute song is ideal as background music for your mindful practice or meditation. It was designed and recorded by sound engineers and musicians to simulate an alpha brainwave frequency which will help regulate your own brainwaves to match this relaxing vibration.
The natural sounds of drums, bells and synthesizers come together in a beautiful blend of revitalizing sounds.
