Gary Montalvo and Dawn Speaks are a dynamic business duo at a company called LimeLife by Alcone. Gary is the Chief Growth Officer and Dawn is the Regional Director. They first came on my radar when I was at a Direct Selling University presentation. The MC was talking about how their messaging is so powerful that it’s spreading like wildfire across the industry. So of course, I had to bring them on my show so you could hear their stories for yourself!

One of the big things they focus on is mindset. So many people have a scarcity mindset about direct sales, with thoughts like, “I’m not one of ‘those’ people” or “I can’t handle rejection.” Gary and Dawn break down those barriers, believing if you give someone the right mindset, they’ll shoot like a rocket.

During this talk, you’ll also gain insight on how to OWN that you’re a network marketer, to lead with what you’re afraid of, and above all else, get your butt to work! Gary and Dawn have embraced the opportunity side of network marketing, and after listening to this, you may just do the same.

Lia Ditton from www.rowliarow.com rowed for 86 days straight in the Pacific Ocean, from the West Coast of California all the way to Hawaii. She rowed for an average of 24 miles per day through winds and currents. When she sleeps, she has a sea anchor but it doesn’t keep her exactly in the place where she stopped rowing. She has to regain whatever distance she lost when she wakes up. For 86 days she was alone; nobody around, nothing around. Only the vastness of the ocean. She entered the Molokai channel which is so turbulent that I won’t even try braving with my twin-engine powerboat. And, she has to row through that for 37 more miles, without sleep. She capsized twice. Almost fell out of the boat and only barely hung on. She could have drowned. A friend of hers set off a few weeks before she did, and they found her drowned, hanging on to the boat with one arm. Compare what Lia did to what you’re doing. Look at her consistency. How do you stay compliant in the age of the FTC? The FTC is a fraud regulator, but so are consumers. If you chronically commit fraud consumers will eventually shut you down and if they don’t the FTC will. And it's a good thing. They may despise our business model but they more often than not tell the truth about fraud. Network Marketing, MLM, and Direct Sales are historically horrible self-regulators. We have proven over and over that we'll push the envelope until the market or the regulators push back. HOWEVER ... fraud and lying cuts both ways. Here are some truths the FTC is obligated to accept. They are public servants. There are 40 million American citizens that have chosen this profession. That's 40 million of us that have chosen a chance to fail … or maybe succeed. It's not illegal or fraudulent to offer, promote, educate, or sell an income opportunity. Opportunity is just that, the opportunity to succeed or fail. You can't find any implication of a guarantee in that word. Tune in to hear Richard talk about the FTC and new DSA guidance on earnings claims.
