In our 3rd sermon in the series "Chosen", Pastor Phil teaches on the importance of "chance" encounters in our lives. Through the use of stories of Jesus life and the chance encounters He is faced with, Pastor shows how we need to take advantage of every encounter we have with people.
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. Eph. 1:4-6
“But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Cor 3:12-18
This week Pastor Phil starts a new series called "Strongholds". This series delves into things that we hold onto that the enemy has control of.
1 Sam 30:1-10 David and his men reached Ziklag on the third day. Now the Amalekites had raided the Negev and Ziklag. They had attacked Ziklag and burned it, 2 and had taken captive the women and all who were in it, both young and old. They killed none of them, but carried them off as they went on their way. 3 When David and his men came to Ziklag, they found it destroyed by fire and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive. 4 So David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep. 5 David's two wives had been captured — Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel. 6 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God. 7 Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, "Bring me the ephod." Abiathar brought it to him, 8 and David inquired of the Lord, "Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?" "Pursue them," he answered. "You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue." 9 David and the six hundred men with him came to the Besor Ravine, where some stayed behind, 10 for two hundred men were too exhausted to cross the ravine. But David and four hundred men continued the pursuit.
This week we start off a new Christmas series entitled "God with us." When Heaven Met Earth talks about the importance of the nature of Christ. Christ is both fully man and fully God, a concept that is very difficult to understand. Pastor Phil helps paint a picture of Christ's identity and His importance this Christmas season.
This week Brian Houseman, guest speaker, joins us and shares how we can leave a Spiritual Legacy with our families.
We are all called to be servants. Jesus showed us that in His treatment of the Disciples when He washed their feet. Pastor Phil challenges us this week to be a servant to those around us and talks about what that should look like.
We are called as Christians to be compassionate for others, but that isn't the easiest thing to do. When you feel strongly for someone you might feel compassionate for them easily, but when you don't like someone or don't have a connection with them, then compassion is more difficult. This week pastor Phil challenges us to love the least of these and care for the people around us.
When everything is stripped away, what do you have left? Pastor Phil challenges us to look past the short life that we have on this earth and make sure we are pointed at bigger things and see if we are really willing to step across the line.
This weeks sermon focuses on how our giving has effected those around us and those who we cannot see. We hear testimonies from people who have been impacted by the generosity of Colonial Woods.
This week we start a new series entitled "Because of You". October is Missions Month at Colonial Woods and we just want to take some time to give a high five to our people and share powerful stories about the impact we have had as a church to the people we support. This week we will be talking about how the powers of our prayers have worked in the lives of people.

Nobody likes it when they feel like they are under attack. It hurts even more when you feel like you don't deserve it. This week Pastor Phil shares with us the story of Joseph and his life. Through his story about his unfair treatment, God shined through in an amazing way.
Throughout history shipwrecks have happened. Sadly, most of them were preventable. Often a small change in course or greater diligence in leadership could have prevented the disaster. The same is true in our walk with Christ. We never need to shipwreck our faith. God desires us to be strong in Him. There’s no need to be a casualty.
This week is Colonial Wood's intern weekend where we celebrate and thank our summer interns for their service to the church. This week we have Wesley Whetstone, a recent high school graduate and student of CWMC, as well as a summer intern, share with the church that we need to be focused on reaching our "lost cause" people in our life. People we we have given up on, but God hasn't.
This week Pastor Phil starts a new series entitled "Centered". In this series we will dive into how God wants us to stay centered in Him and maintain our spot in His divine will. For the first week of the series Pastor Phil talks about how we need to continually return to his presence.
This week Pastor Dan Hamrick delivers his message "Am I Listening?" In this standalone message, Pastor Dan shows us that there is a difference between hearing and listening. Our goal as Christians is to really listen to what God is trying to say to us.
Pastor Phil continues his sermon series, "The Bridge" this week with a message explaining the importance of being an influence in other people's lives. We are all authors in someone else's life and it is our job to "Pick up the Pen!"
In this week's sermon, Pastor Phil shares how we can find our Bridge home again. Desperation, Brokenness, Promises and Large Life Events are all ways God uses to Bridge our life home again.
Pastor Dan and Pastor Chelsea, the Student Ministries pastors share what is happening in the Student Ministries and also share about their theme for the year "Rise". They share with the congregation how their students have learned over the last year how to "Rise" and shine their light to their peers and the community.
