Empire Monitor: Recent Episodes

Empire Monitor is dedicated to analysis of imperialism, geopolitics, and foreign policy, particularly in the Middle East. Episodes will frequently cover current events, history, and philosophy.
Members of Eastern Washington Progressives (EWAP), two of whom are going to the candidacy process to become members of the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), discuss what is perhaps the most well-known text by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels: The Communist Manifesto.
This is episode one of what will be a weekly series on leftist, and predominately Marxist, political theory. We will be treating each episode as a discussion, in which we cover the text and discuss where and how it applies to today. "Socialism: Utopian and Scientific" by Engels is next, so stay tuned.
Please forgive the poor quality. We are meeting virtually because of the pandemic, and are new to the whole process. Things will improve in the coming weeks and months ahead.
On this episode, we first discuss the statistics surrounding COVID-19. Then in the main segment, we take a look at the global authoritarian power grab taking place.
