Political action has failed to yield results. Politicians don’t answer to the public. They answer to those who fund their campaigns. The way to make the world a better place is to take action ourselves and improve the world around us.
Socialism is a dangerous economic idea. There is really not much else to say here. It's and unworkable way to organize economic activity and is being sold to America's youth through social media. To many big right wing creators are focused on the culture war, while leftists swoop up America's youth by making economic promises they know they can't keep. Meanwhile the political right in this country is not presenting any kind of alternative to the planned economics and handout campaigns. If we are going to turn the tide in this country, sound economic ideas must be brought to the forefront.
Leeja Miller goes into a long winded rant about the evils of Airbnb, private equity and institutional investors. The housing shortage, she believes, is largely a result of these issues. She's almost right, as is the case with many on the economic left. When it comes to housing, healthcare, or education they often falsely identify the symptoms as the cause. Housing shortages, like all shortages, are typically due to government intervention into the market. This intervention typically prevents the market from responding to demand.
@moreperfectunion hilariously mis-categorizes our modern economic problems as a result of adopting Milton Friedman's free market approach to economics. Using @FDSignifire to try and present complex economic ideas in 12 minutes was probably not the way to go. Most importantly though, is this video was not a well thought out critique of lasseiz-faire economics but just another thinly veiled repackaging of standard leftist tropes.
For just a moment forget where you stand on the issue itself. Ask yourself what is the actual impact on society of the issue, and then, if it is getting a reasonable amount of attention. This country has real problems to solve, and the amount of attention being given to low impact social issues seems disproportionate. Maybe it's not an accident.
What is the endgame for the Trump indictment. People on the political left seem happy about it, but what does it actually mean for the future of our country?
It can be difficult to control our emotional responses to media manipulation. Recognizing it is the first step. As a society we have to learn to be critical of the people we agree with. Those media outlets who would claim to speak on our behalf. They should be held to the highest standard because the claim to be speaking on your behalf. You can call out misinformation from outlets you disagree with all you want, but you aren't changing anyone's mind. Holding sources you agree with to high standards is the pathway to the high ground, but more importantly, it's a path to getting people to listen to what you have to say. If you care about your cause, then you should be very critical of those who've been given a platform to speak on it. Celebrities are ridiculous, entitled and absolutely over-estimate their importance and relevance. Agree or disagree with them, can we please stop giving them so much attention? The "don't say gay bill" and the argument that it's a law against something that wasn't happening are examples of "fake news." The bill is named don't say gay as a flat out lie. This is the kind of garbage journalism that harms the LGB movement. Also, it IS being taught in public schools.
I hate talking abortion. As the Roe vs. Wade ruling is the talk of the country right now I decided to to a further, hopefully more clarifying video. Roe vs. Wade is controversial but the ruling really shouldn't be. It's hard for me to disagree with any ruling that puts more power into the hands of the states. Roe Vs. Wade and the whole abortion argument is far to philosophical to be governed from the federal level and states should be given jurisdiction. That is not to say there aren't several issues people who believe in liberty and bodily autonomy will have to reckon with in the coming weeks and months.
Income Inequality in America is constant topic of conversation. Wealth redistribution, corporate greed and political posturing receive most of the blame. While politics and corruption certainly play a role they are not the main contributors. Our broken and antiquated public school systems should shoulder much of the blame. The goal of public schools is completely misguided and is one of the key factors in the inability of so many to take full advantage of economic opportunity in America.
This is for anyone curious about libertarians. The content is really designed for Libertarians running for office. Libertarian views sit way outside what would be considered mainstream politics. The question we're asked can be uniquely challenging as we're not just trying to explain why we're better but inform people to the concept of non-aggression. I'm hoping to both inform people about the party, while helping those running for office.

This is a short case as to why we should open the economy as soon as possible. Public awareness is going to prevent any covid-19 doomsday scenario as was initially laid out. We need caution moving forward but it's time. We need to continue distancing. However we can't wait for a vaccine to open the economy. This isn't just about economics, but also about the social impacts of a poor economy and extreme isolation.
This episode has three parts. I initially discuss the hypocrisy of punishing YouTube creators for discussing coronavirus. Then I touch on the economic and political consequences of the actions taken to flatten the curve. Can Americans still consider themselves free people if they are so easily controlled and so quickly surrender their most basic rights?
