New York has the second highest rate of reincarcerating people on parole based on technical violations. People are sent back to prison not for a new crime but often for trivial matters such as being late for curfew or missing an appointment with a parole officer. This episode we are in conversation with Yami, Henry and Abu who share their unjust experience with parole in support of the LESS IS MORE ACT, New York.
The Less is More Act will restrict incarceration for technical violations, and will provide the right to a hearing for violation of parole rather than being sent straight to jail among other provisions. Check out the fact sheet and sign the petition on www.lessismore.org.

Craig Cesal, a current federal prisoner, discusses finding resilience and fighting back when the system gets it wrong. After serving 18 years of a life sentence without parole, Craig has been temporarily released to home confinement through the Cares Act to protect some federal prisoners from the health risks posed by COVID-19.
