Artist Bio: BLANG has been riding the decks since 1999 and has been steadily playing out at clubs and raves for over 20 years! Smashing out dance-floors show after show and has appeared on countless online radio shows, such as bassdrive.com and dnbradio.com; furthermore, has also hosted his very own drum n bass fueled radio show for 3 solid years at Cal State Fullerton’s Titan Radio (titanradio.org). He gained an appreciation for electronic music back in the mid-90s in the Los Angeles underground rave scene.
His mixing skills are intelligent, creative,and skillful with his acute way of transitioning tracks and dropping big bass and heavy beats. BLANG manipulates anywhere he can, keeping busy behind the decks in his mixes and live performances. Showcasing a wide range of skill, musical knowledge and taste… BLANG is always freshening up his sound and continuing to bring the heat, set after set!
With over 15 years now of dedication and involvement in the jungle & drum n bass music community, he has been fortunate enough to open up & share the stage with many established artists & Djs, just to name a few: Aphrodite, Rusko, Dieselboy & POTD, Liquid Stranger, Ben Soundscape, Bailey, RAW aka BBoy3000, Falinox, Nightstalker, APX1 & CRS?, Deacon, Direct Feed, Machete and Mason & Dstar; along with a long list of B2B sets with other local djs/ mc's from LA to Austin, Texas. BLANG is a seasoned Dj with his own production to match as he also drops his own original material from time to time.
BLANG has been producing drum n bass music since 2008 and in 2010 started up his own label imprint, Bell Ringer records, which is centered around releasing music by stateside artists in the drum n bass/jungle and dubstep genres. You'll find that his production style has a very organic and eclectic tone… With focus around deep bassline riffs and crisp drum work. This DJ/Producer out of Southern California, now residing in Austin, Tx keeps it consistent and his passion for D&B doesn't seem to be slowing down. BLANG has held a steady residency for 4 years now with Austin's local D&B crew SONAR DNB, which is every Tuesday night at Plush ATX. Recently BLANG has also started a new dnb/ jungle monthly in Austin called Catalyst with his good friend Mutiny from Lionway crew at the ever- popular Barcelona Nightclub. BLANG continues to keep busy in a scene that is continuously growing and shares his passion with music lovers alike!

The track has an elegant intro, laced with layers.. that bring you on a journey into deep/ dark space. With drums that are hard hitting and a sub bass stabs that carry you thru the mix!
DAYDREAMS is a more smoother type tune with an intro melody that grasps your attention... the drop is subtle but rolls out a nice deeply layered synth bass that sets in the groove nicely and creates a Sunday vibe! ENJOY!

The Tribal Knowledge EP is a concept curated by BLANG, a stateside dj/ producer from southern California who now resides in the city of Austin, Tx. The album consists of 4 tracks that represent the smooth, deep and gritty spectrums of drum n bass/ jungle music. ‘Against Time’ is the featured track off the album which hosts a moody and infectious melody drawing you into its story. The plot twist is when the drop hits with a gritty/ distorted bass synth that takes you on a rolling journey thru the track.
‘Impulse’ is tune collaboration between BLANG and SQUAKE, a resident of SONAR DNB and dj/ producer from Austin, Tx. Impulse is an energetic, vibey tune with crisp drums, spacious pads and a heavy bassline, that molds into a jungle infused track just before the breakdown to keep you listening. You can expect more to come from these two in the studio.
‘Landslide’ has a very infectious intro with snappy drums and symphonic sounds that draw you in. The build up is subtle yet when the drop hits it immediately encompasses your ear with a big rolling bass synth that carries you thru the tune!
‘Peacemaker’ the last tune on the EP, is a gem in itself. The track takes you on a spacious and melodic intro that reels in your attention. Coming to the drop the track takes on the shape of a smooth/ liquid roller yet surprises you with slight amen breaks and a analog drone synth sound sprinkled in that seems to widen and create space, to keep you in tune and turned on.

This was an idea I put together after listening to and watching Charlie Chaplin's 'Wold's Greatest Speech'... If you have never heard of it... Youtube it... you will be inspired and amazed as I was! So I decided to record/sample the speech and then build a track around it!! Here is little Bootleg DnB action for ya! When this hits 500 plays I will give it away for FREEEE!
