John 17:17 – If we want to know truth, we need to know Jesus. And we must beware of common alternatives to truth.
John 13:35 – The local church is important because through local church love the world knows we belong to Christ.
John 18:33-37, Philippians 2; Ephesians 5. How does Christ fulfil the office of a king?
Deuteronomy 18:17-20; Hebrews 5:5-6; John 18:37. What offices does Christ fulfil as our Redeemer?
John 1:14, 18. God became flesh and dwelt among us. This should bring us to awe and worship.

John 3:36. What does this belief look like, who has this belief, what are the consequences of unbelief, and how does this belief change us?
John 10:17-18 – Nobody, nobody, nobody can lay their life down and take it up again. That is, nobody except Jesus. God is great.
John 16:33 – Count on it, this world will have trouble. But God’s people can take heart (and even, ridiculously, have a greater joy!). Why? Christ has overcome the world.
John 6:53-58. Christians are called to feed on Jesus as spiritual food. Jesus offers believers true food and true drink in his word.
John 8:48-59 – If we want to learn more about who Jesus is, where better to go than to Jesus Himself? Is there anyone as amazing, glorious and awe-inspiring as Him?
John 8:34 – Wesley shows us from Jesus’ words in John 8 who is a slave, what slavery is like, how to become free, and what freedom is like.
