Hey Podcast Family, I hope this video helps as many of you who are aspiring to create a Photography or any other type of small business. Starting your company can be a bit tricky and daunting. But if you commit to your process, find your groove, and stay the course, you'll find yourself in a position of constant growth.  Too many of us worry about the accolades, things we can't control, and the perception we're giving off.  In my 7 years, these are all distractions. The money, the confidence, and the strategy all come from doing the work. If you have that mindset, you'll be set for life.  That's the formula for success in my opinion.

In today's episode, I had a candid discussion with my mother about how we can leverage her over 2 decades of experience in the health field to build awareness for her business. The strategy we set was to build top of the funnel awareness for her health & nutrition brand using live-recorded zoom calls.

My motto for 2021 is to build a business around a topic that you're passionate about. If you can have even 1 person on that call and share something that changes their life, then you'll have started the process of building that business that you desire.

We are living in one of the greatest generations to start a business. As I engage in conversations with more business owners like myself, I am lead to believe that many of us aren't taking the time to learn ourselves before venturing off into a business. Hey podcast, I think there's no debate at this point that the answer to many of our successes lies in outputting a quantity of content on a daily basis on the current relevant platforms. Being grateful comes from deep within your soul. I truly believe that as much as the media paints a negative image of the world that things are truly significantly better. All of us can share our voices without being blocked off by 4 old white men in an office. We're going to live longer, we can communicate with each other at scale, and more. Yes things aren't perfect, yes bad things do happen, but I refuse to not be thankful for the life that I have! Remember, you are in control.

In order to truly deal with people, we have to understand ourselves. Any successful business has a host of meaningful people core to the functioning of it. The founder's DNA typically trickles down into the flow of the business and it's important that we as leaders understand ourselves before we get involved in a people oriented thing such as a business.

As the intenet continues to eat everything in our world, a strong reputation or brand will be the final frontier of business. Yes your sales work right now, and they’ll continue to work for a long time. But please don’t let that cloud your vision on the fact that you need to spend an equal amount of time branding and providing people upfront value!

If you wait for something like new years as the lever to change you're bad habits, you might be a procrastinator. In order to truly affect change in your life, it starts now. Not tomorrow, next week, or next month. We have to get more serious about auditing our behaviors if we truly want to make progress for ourselves.

Stress management is something we don't speak about often enough. Life is all about how we handle stress because at every turn there's another set of problems. It could be friends, family, work, a new personal business venture, or things just not going to plan. There comes a time in everyone's life where they ask if they're making the right choices. Now this isn't a playbook on how to figure out your life decisions, but it's an honest self evaluation game. We all have the same 24 hours in the day. We all just use it differently. Today I share some of the things that have helped me to become more effective in my execution and it all boils down to executing on my time in silos. No multi-tasking, no time hacks, just good old allowing time to tasks, breaking them down, and sticking to them. It's so basic, but it works, trust me!

I'm always very inspired by people's dreams and aspirations. But I'm usually disappointed by the fact that there's a meager amount of execution on those dreams when I do my due diligence to hear what's going on below the surface. My reminder to you and to myself is to dream big, attack those small steps, but most importantly, START. Too many of us don't start for a myriad reasons. And I hope that you can begin your process of understanding who you are, and what gets you ticking today.

We can't afford to wait until those final bleak moments in life to be grateful for the people we have around and and the things that we have present in our lives. The key point in today's podcast is that context matters. If a world class art piece was presented in a run-down store front it'll be perceived way differently than if it were given a grand spectacle at the MET. Perception is king.

Hey everyone, today I reflect on the past year and my transition into doing marketing for small businesses. If it's anything that I believe, it's that you should test it on yourself. Over the course of the year, I spend an obnoxious amount of time consuming content in the form of audiobooks, podcasts, videos, pitches to clients, and listening more keenly to the problems surfaced by the end consumer. All that to say is execute sooner than later. You can always figure out later how to perfect the process but share your thoughts with the world!

The truth of the matter in this world is that everything that we go through is fundamentally a human problem. Social media doesen't change us inasmuch as it shows us who we are. Accountability is what I'm getting it. Change begins with accountability.

My Thoughts on motivational speakers is that they neglect a few of the practicalities in life.

They tell a great story but often times they ignore key things like hard work, maximizing your hours in the day, sacrificing short term happiness, all in the name of selling you a book or a course.

I believe that anyone of us can be motivational if we dedicate ourselves to our process and be consistent.

In my world, true motivation is doing.

Complain about not making any money in your creative business all you want. It comes down to figuring out how much time and energy you're going to commit to delivering your dreams. If you're not good at marketing, get a partner, if you are good, 10x down on it until you can afford to hire someone. In today's open world, complaining is for the weak and I stand by that.

There's moments in all of our lives where we don't feel like creating, socializing, and we need a moment to unplug and breathe. And that's perfectly fine! This episode is about being mindful to your feelings, and acknowledging them so that you don't stress yourself. Stress is the opposite of creativity because it suffocates it with expectations, anxiety and grief. Allow yourself to breathe!

Fashion shows are a place where we can all embody the persona of our aspirations, hopes and dreams through clothing. And Beverly Olivaace's intimate fashion show at the end of NYFW was no exception to this rule. While it may be quite difficult to paint a vivid picture of the show itself, I walk through its essence, the meaning of fashion, how it aims to make you feel good, and Ms. Beverly's launch of her fall 2019 fashion line and a recap of her wonderful summer looks. A big thanks to our friends at Amona Public Relations for setting up this connection for us! I hope that you enjoy the episode!

Everyone has difficulties, transgressions, moments of doubt, darkness, and lows that come from within. I believe that in taking the time to reflect and understand what human nature is about we can come to terms with ourselves. Please note that I'm speaking from my experience just like anyone else would therefore it's imperative that you figure out your internal framework. It starts with you. And it's you vs you.

Customers are like plants. The more your pour into then and delight them in their experience with you, the more they give back in the long run. Extracting value by constantly selling, designing products for your selfish needs, and neglecting their needs all together will never be fruitful. And for that reason, I choose to be customer first.

Your intent matters. When you’re giving selflessly, it has great impact on your business and personal development. People have a remarkable way of sniffing out selfish sales driven tactics and for that reason alone, I desire to be in a place where I can be trusted. And I believe that you build trust in business and personal life by being selfless.

I had this epiphany today as I continue to dive more into producing meaningful marketing strategies for myself and future potential clients. After taking an hour this morning to speak to a potential client, to understand what their business and personal aspirations were, I was able to product a meaningful marketing strategy that was relevant towards getting more attention to the client's platform. In listening to their needs, I was able to isolate ways within the framework of producing picture, text, and audio that would support that general goal. We're all human, I hope! A part of being human is the fact that we're bounded by our thoughts and emotions. They're so powerful so much so that a thought has the power to redirect our entire perspective on a matter. We're all bound to feel a lack of motivation sometimes so the best way to deal with those moments however brief or long they are for you is to let those feelings flow and subside without over judging yourself.

Storytelling has always been apart of our core functioning as humans. We love the story of the underdog, the come up, and success and fame. We have stories codified on the Bible, in historical tales, mythologies that shape our psychi, and tales of our family history. At every corner of our lives, there's a story to uncover. That's why this is so powerful for our businesses. And I believe when the right story is told it can truly impact the number of sales we have as well as the experience we provide for your customers.

As I'm saddling up for the 5th year of this journey, I'm beginning to realize more the necessity of loving your process. That love is what has kept me consistent when there was no money coming in to fend for myself. That love was what kept me going when I'd have people flop on me, criticize my work as shitty, or when I was told that I need to get a "real job". I advocate for believing in yourself. But also please be self aware in understanding how good you are because there's a fine line between being optimistic and delusional. Something I'm figuring out for myself daily. I believe that I'm at a point where I understand who I am, not who I'm trying to be. In acknowledging the things that I am blessed with such as communication skills, empathy, gratitude, and sharp perspective on the hardships of life relative to my own, these things have shaped me into who I am. The struggles that each of us have define us in unique ways. And it's because of this that I believe that you should tell that story. Not some caricature of who you want to be. You, your truth, your flaws, your gifts, your shortcomings, is the story. That's what makes you you.

It's in our nature to be quiet selfish and self serving, and that's ok. But there's a point where we all desire more accolades, respect, love but where does this come from? I believe that it comes from giving selflessly. Now, this isn't easy by any means. It takes knowing yourself, being comfortable in your shortcomings, and accepting the fact that we're all on a common journey with our own individual paths. In doing this podcast, I want to make my contribution to creatives, and other listeners alike by giving the insights that I've gained from my journey and the new things that I continue to learn. That is where the success lies. Try it!

This has allowed me to increase customer satisfaction while increasing overall gross profit because I'm able to take on more shoots due to me buying back my time.

Hey Podcast, it's been a few days since I've recorded an episode but today I'm here to spill some thoughts that I think would be helpful for anyone that's getting heavy into marketing or on the journey of understanding themselves like myself. We have to take deeper looks internally, ask critical questions of ourselves, deploy a little more empathy, and accept the shortcomings of all our lives. I believe that as we bring this conversation of happiness and internal success to the forefront, we'll be able to have more open conversations and extract more judgement out of the system. It'll take time though, but it begins with you and you can start today.

Hey Podcast, today I was thinking about this question "why are we compelled to do certain things?" And in today's episode I ponder those thoughts. Fundamentally, I believe it's because these brands have sustained a memorable emotional attachment in our hearts. We don't buy the products, we buy what the brand stands for and embodies. We buy ideas.

View Details

I believe we need to stop pressuring ourselves. For anyone in their early 20s like myself, we need to reframe our ideas on time and understand ourselves. I think we need to get back to a state where we are leaning into our passions. It's our passions that fuel us and keep us going when things get difficult. Anything not in support of that is an eventual burnout.

Hey Podcast, I was really pondering this thought of Enlightenment five minutes before recording and I'm lead to believe that it's happiness. Internal happiness. Doing what you believe and love. Giving freely from your soul without expecting anything in return and understanding that you're not entitled to anything. Your happiness is your responsibility and when you lean into that, the world becomes a frightenly better place.

Today, I continue the branding series by talking about creating relevance through content. I believe that content that is relevant to your end consumer creates an environment where they can learn and develop trust. It's not going to guarantee sales, but it creates a better environment for sales to take place which is what any business large or small needs! Hope this brings you some value!

Hey Podcast, I think this topic is important for all of us including myself. It's a matter of communicating your vision and idea of your company through actions, good or bad treatment, product placement, and the emotional connection that you're going to build with your customer. That's the game and that's why we need to understand why we do the things that we're doing.

Hey Podcast, this an open letter to my 22 year Olds like myself! We're just starting life. We've been given a framework where we got good grades to move to the next level when life just doesent work like that. I truly believe that we are in a remarkable time and I really want to implore that we all save our money, we stay true to our passions, and we be honest with ourselves. Our lives is ours to live and my father drilled that in my head. Not for him but for me. And I want to impart that onto you all as well. Thank you for your attention.

Hey Podcast, today I want to add some clarity to my thoughts on marketing. It's a very contextual art for both you and your target audience. There are general ideas like running ads to a specific target audience for them to perform an action, but at the same time, the flavor is contextual. I believe the best thing that we can all do is to understand what our personal and business goal is, understand what the customers needs are, and then work towards that. That I belive is essential otherwise you're going to fall in the trap of "you need to post at X time" etc when it's different for all of us.

Hey Podcast,  on today's episode, I speak about acts of kindness in business and the importance of it to our success.

Why don't we treat people in business like we do in real life? Marketing isn't always sales driven. When it's human driven there's more results that are ROI positive. People are not transactional elements and it's time that we really acknowledge this fact.

The best way I believe to be motivational is to stay true to yourself. There's no need to appear to be someone you're not when you know in your soul it doesen't feel right. If you become truly honest with yourself then that's where the motivational spirit will come from. Trust me, success is an internal thing, not from the external things that we gratify so the time.

As in observing the landscape of many developing business owners like myself, I'm realizing that alot of us are entering the business world solely because it's easy. Not because we love sales, not because we love the process of building meaningful relationships, not because we love the climb. Today, I implore that you truly look yourself in the mirror and understand whether you're even cut out to make a business, whether you're actually good at building a brand and whether you need a partner who's good. Maybe you might be a writer, or maybe you're better off just giving out hair advice instead of trying to sell it. If one person can understand this and figure themselves out, your path will become so much clearer.

Hey Podcast tonight's episode is about measuring your self awareness. I'm lead to believe that we don't have all the customers we desire because of simple laziness. Pursuing any business isn't easy. We're too passive with our customer acquisition and this is a call to action to be active in seeking out the people that we want to work with.

Hey Podcast, in 2019 it is difficult to be a photographer but it's also one of the best times to do so given the abundance of opportunity. One thing we have to quickly realize is that we're commodities. People add us to their carts, do price comparisons, and select whoever fits their budget or current circumstance at the moment.

Over the course of the past five years, I've learned that It's usually never personal.

And while we're commodities, the landscape is such that media is also commoditised. What this means is that we can engage with our potential customers at scale on platforms like instagram and Facebook, engage with them and put our two cents into the world.

The only question now is are you going to spend the time to engage with people and go hunt for your customers?

View Details

Hey everyone, I spent most of the day editing and engaging with people in instagram so I wanted to get on here real quick to speak about the importance of free work. It is the gateway to opportunity. By doing free work you get yourself in the door, you create an opportunity to build connections, and you get to show who you are. Five years into the game, I'm still activity collaborating and constantly innovating on ways to increase my content output. I hope this sparks you to keep working!

Hey Podcast, I just came to a self realization with how I'm gonna add more content to the platform. I'm not gonna overthink. I hope that it brings value because I know that sometimes a 2 minute clip might work better than a 9 minute episode for some people! Let me know your thoughts!

Hey podcast, today I follow up on the previous episode on why we need to market by giving some examples of companies such as Google, Nike, and Coca-Cola that are master marketers and some marketing tactics that I employ personally as a photographer that are apart of my long term marketing strategy to make 1 billion people know who I am.

View Details

Hey podcast, today I speak very briefly on why all of us need to employ some form of marketing. The opportunity is too great for us to be making excuses for why we aren't getting the output we can. It's quite simple, the reason you aren't getting as many phone calls or inquiries is because no one is aware of you. Marketing is bringing awareness to your products and services and without it although it isn't always a direct return on investment, it's the sole variable between someone knowing who you are, and you being invisible.

Hey Podcast, on today's episode, I speak about using happiness as a strategy for business development.

I truly believe that It is now more practical than ever to apply this idea in a 21st century world.

What I mean by this is that the infrastructure of the internet allows us all to gain unique audiences around things that we're passionate about. There was never a time in the world that someone could speak about comic books, their love for dry herbs, or custom made socks, and make a $40, 000 in ad funding.

Using happiness as a framework for business development is going to be a real conversation soon because the cost of entry is $00.00. Doing what makes you happy almost guarantees you'll put in an immense amount of hours and if you do it long enough.

In my five years thus far, beautiful things are beginning to happen and I truly believe that if you're good at refining the business tactics around what you love, it's almost like magic.
