This is a podcast by Village Young Adults. We exist to create an environment for young adults to move deeper with Jesus and therefore change the way they relate to culture and the world in the scenery of everyday life. The Collective is a gathering for young adults (ages 18-30) that happens twice a month on Friday nights. The Collective is a way for young adults to connect and grow in community as well as learn how to follow Jesus more and more in their day-to-day lives.

Do you go through life encountering God? Like when you bring God to mind, what do you think God thinks of you? Does it feel like there should be more to our relationship with God and our walk with Jesus?
Tune in this week as Matt dives into the topic of God's love for us and how it changes us. What is stopping us from receiving God's love and what does his love even look like in the first place?
Do you ever feel as a follower of Jesus that you don’t fit into the Christian community? Where you think you are too far gone, or your sin is too great for God to forgive you. Where you question if you could be a part of the chosen people of God or not. But what does Scripture say about this? What does the letter from Paul to the Ephesian church say about our identity found in Christ?
Tune in this week as Dan dives into the topic of being the chosen people of God. What does it mean to be chosen? Am I chosen or am I excluded from the family of God?
You are trying to follow Jesus faithfully but you feel like there’s a blockage from hearing his voice. You want a relationship with him and feel like something is getting in the way. What are the things that are hindering us from hearing from the Spirit of God?

We hear of people and read throughout our Bibles of people who seem to have a conversational relationship with God. Is this even possible? Why doesn’t this line up with my experience? And if God spoke to me what would He sound like? And what role does the Holy Spirit play in it all?
Tune in this week as Matt dives into the topic of the Holy Spirit, who the Holy Spirit is, and is it possible to have a relationship with the Spirit.
The miracles in the New Testament. Jesus gave his disciples authority to cast out demons. The evidence of the Spirit moving in the book of Acts. The Spirit was moving then, but does the Spirit still move today?
Tune in this week as Dan dives into the topic of the Holy Spirit and the deep hunger that we have and that is available to us as followers of Jesus of the power of the Spirit.
Does God let bad things happen to good people? How can you worship a God who allows there to be so much pain and suffering in the world? Is God responsible for the evil in the world?
But what does the Bible have to say about the problem of Evil? And what is the wisdom for us as followers of Jesus for how we are called to live in the world today. Tune in this week as Matt dives into the topic of Evil, what it is, why it’s here, and what God is doing about it!
Is the Bible full of “arcane rituals aimed at pleasing a volatile deity” as one writer put it? Does God promote violence? Is He a wrathful God? Is the God of the Old Testament different than the God of the New Testament? Who would want to worship a God who is such a monster!
Or does the Bible contain a different message? Is this a true picture of the God that we find in Scripture? Tune in this week as Dan unpacks what the Bible really says about violence in the Old Testament and what the character of God is truly like.
Will only a select few people make it to heaven? While billions of people burn in hell forever? Did Jesus really teach that God would torture people for all of eternity? And the real question: What is God really like? How can this God ever be good? How can this God ever be trusted? And how could that ever be good news?
But what if we have it all wrong? What if God isn’t a sadistic villain that roasts people in hell forever? What if a lot of our views of hell are misconceptions? Tune in this week as Pastor Dan unpacks the Biblical perspective of the topic of Hell.
