Listen in as we talk with Breath Coach Jess Buckley all about resting, napping and creating a beautiful life for yourself, beyond the grind of the Patriarchy, capitalism and, yes, the holiday season. We talk about how to create moments of peace for yourself, how to “Pause & Refresh” when moments seem overwhelming and how to manage expectations so that you can enjoy this season for all its cozy, delicious, restorative hygge (pronounced hew-gah). As Tricia Hersey’s book “Rest is Resistance” teaches us, we have everything to gain from rejecting the “grind culture” and insisting on being well-rested. These are choices we must make for ourselves, even if it takes a lot of unlearning to get there. And then we finish off with a song that embodies the feeling of hygge, from its sultry melodies to Billie Holiday’s luscious lyrics, let it help you get into the soft, cozy and restorative spirit of the holiday season. It’s so good to be back with you again! In this episode, we have a real talk about the grief and anger resulting from the American election while also figuring out how to move forward. It’s important to be honest with yourself and allow space for your feelings right now. AND it’s important for YOU to take care of YOU, focus on what you can control, connect with people around you and purposely create joy (don’t dare let them take it away!) We are all gutted that we have so much more work still to do, it seems inhumanely cruel because it is. But like those who successfully fought to remove Brazil’s right-wing fascist president, Bolsonaro, we can use their slogan, “Ninguém solta a mão de ninguém” which translates to “No one let go of anyone’s hand”, we are in this together. No matter how badly they try to separate us!For daily inspiration and motivation follow Strong Women Co on facebook and Instagram:www.facebook.com/StrongWomenCowww.instagram.com/strongwomencoTo join our FREE online Sisterhood:www.facebook.com/groups/SWCTribeCheck out our website for our programs:https://strongwomenco.com
In this episode we talk about Spring as the season of letting go, cleaning out the old and making space for the new. Letting go is a rarely easy thing to do and yet it’s universal to the human experience. So, let’s talk about letting go, labyrinths and more! Also in this episode we have a special treat for you, the thoughtful and wise Jane Doull reads out her “Letting go” intro and blessing for us!For daily inspiration and motivation follow Strong Women Co on facebook and Instagram:www.facebook.com/StrongWomenCowww.instagram.com/strongwomencoTo join our FREE online Sisterhood:www.facebook.com/groups/SWCTribeCheck out our website for our programs:https://strongwomenco.com
Hello 2024! Also, how dare you sneak up on me like this. With both feet now in the new year, it’s a great opportunity to ask ourselves what we want out of 2024. It’s important to take a moment and ask ourselves what our heart’s desires and goals are for this year. If we don’t take the time to ask ourselves it’s so easy to get swallowed up into other things like work, family drama, parenting responsibilities, etc. The world asks a lot of women, and we often oblige. And because of this we need to make a special effort to figure out what we want so that we can work towards it. We need to take a pause, go inward and ask. Otherwise, we are not the main character in our own stories. We are a supporting character to other people’s stories. And girlfriend, you deserve to be the main character in the story of YOU. Fortunately, to help you gain clarity and perspective for this year I have a FREE worksheet for you. Super simple. Super helpful. Go ahead, give yourself the gift of ASKING YOURSELF WHAT YOU WANT. And then write it down. This is a great tool for focusing our priorities and better understanding ourselves. Here’s the link to the worksheet:https://strongwomenco.com/product/swc-2024-worksheetAlso, here’s the link to the Connect + Reflect Workbook for processing all that 2023 was:https://strongwomenco.com/product/reflectionworkbook/For daily inspiration and motivation follow Strong Women Co on facebook and Instagram:www.facebook.com/StrongWomenCowww.instagram.com/strongwomencoTo join our FREE online Sisterhood:www.facebook.com/groups/SWCTribeCheck out our website for our programs:https://strongwomenco.comFeatured song:“Slow Burn” by Kacey Musgraveshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NC7cmWkBoz4
Hello again beautiful pod squad! We’re back after the summer break and so excited to talk to you about becoming WHOLE. What a concept, right? How do we do that? Well, one way is to integrate the different versions of ourselves we carry around. We may hide away or ignore parts of ourselves, but those parts are still there and they require love and acceptance, too. They are all a part of YOU and all of you deserves love and compassion. So, come gather up all the parts of yourself you’ve ever left elsewhere and remember your glorious wholeness! Repeat after me (filling your name in the blank):I am here. I am whole.I am ________________For daily inspiration and motivation follow Strong Women Co on facebook and Instagram:www.facebook.com/StrongWomenCowww.instagram.com/strongwomencoTo join our FREE online Tribe:www.facebook.com/groups/SWCTribeCheck out our website for our programs:https://strongwomenco.comFeatured song:‘We Are Integration’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzbJXgz4QAs
In this episode Kelly talks about how the mothering and nurturing we do makes the world go ‘round. She talks about how being a nurturing leader and mothering are synonyms, even if we have a complicated relationship with the word Mother. She talks about the fears she had about becoming a mother and why self-mothering (or being your own inner-mom) is so important. She also tells the interesting origin story of Mother’s Day and the badass, feminist organizer, Julia Ward Howe, who started the special day as an effort to bring women together in the name of world peace. Just wait until you hear the Mother's Day Proclamation of 1870! And we end with a super cute feature song that you may want to share with a loved one. It’s true. You are. You are doing so much better than you think you are. Unfortunately, Women rarely have an accurate view of ourselves (thanks, patriarchy!). Too often, we exaggerate personal setbacks and minimize our accomplishments. It can be easier to remember the critiques and negative stuff than the positive compliments. So, this is a podcast to help you realize that you are actually - and honestly - doing well, great even. Especially considering all you’ve been through. And how do I know that you’ve been through a lot? Well, we’re women. We brave so much. We endure and survive and soldier on. We keep lives and families and movements going. We are the glue that holds whole worlds together. Take a deep breath, you are doing so much better than you think you are.
In this season of rebirth and awakening, many of us are feeling the call to return to ourselves, return to who we truly are. Most of us have been distracted and over-stimulated from the uncertainty and chaos that were the last three years but now, as we peak our heads outside the cave of winter, we are curious and hungry to get back to ourselves. Returning to ourselves means remembering who we were before the world taught us who to be (and who not to be). This is a great time to take inventory of our lives and look at what brings us joy and makes us feel “like ourselves”. It’s also a great time to acknowledge what makes you YOU and what makes you amazing and unique. What makes you feel strong and healthy? Who do you want to be this year? How could you insert more joy and pleasure into your life to bring yourself back from the underworld/otherworld? We discuss this plus more in our latest episode and we finish off with the perfect song to help us come Home to ourselves! For daily inspiration and motivation follow Strong Women Co on facebook and Instagram:www.facebook.com/StrongWomenCowww.instagram.com/strongwomencoTo join our FREE online Tribe:www.facebook.com/groups/SWCTribeCheck out our website for our programs:https://strongwomenco.comFeatured song:“Back To Myself” - Erica Jennings https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8QpdbCt30Y
It’s our first episode of 2023! Let’s talk about fables, stories and journeys to the underworld and back. Listen in to hear about the importance of the journey, including the magic in the “darkness”. Kelly talks about Inanna, Persephone, Alice in Wonderland and Dorothy in Oz - all women on important journeys for wisdom, power and their souls. There is so much to learn and grow from when it comes to “the journey”. There’s much to accept and be grateful for, even the hard stuff that sculpts us into evolved versions of ourselves. Acceptance and gratitude, our theme and mantra for 2023.For daily inspiration and motivation follow Strong Women Co on facebook and Instagram:www.facebook.com/StrongWomenCowww.instagram.com/strongwomencoTo join our FREE online Tribe:www.facebook.com/groups/SWCTribeCheck out our website for our programs and kits:https://strongwomenco.comFeatured song:“New Day” by Alison Wonderlandhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMAh4ExhXm4
So happy to be back! And I LOVE diving into the topic of this episode: yin energy, yule time and the holy days around the winter solstice. This time of year has ancient roots of rejoicing, feasting and being together. So many modern holiday (meaning “holy day'') traditions are based in pagan or nature-centered spirituality and they are beautiful to acknowledge and celebrate. This is the special time of year where we can really “lean in” to the divine feminine, the warm and nurturing things that bring us hope for the future. It’s a wonderful time of year to carve out time for ourselves to be still, introspective and grateful. Happiest holidays to all our amazing listeners around the world!2022 had many lessons, challenges and gifts. Part of owning and embodying our power is by owning the energy we create and transmit to the outside world (and to ourselves).
By taking responsibility for the energy we bring, we are acknowledging the power we have, while consciously creating the lives and futures we want. We are not mere victims of life’s circumstances. We are powerful agents of our own lives. We create and attract what we “put out there”.
Don’t you think it's time we owned the energy we put out into the world? Well, let’s do this!

There’s a whirlwind of chaos going on out there and it can be so easy to get swept away into it. It’s time that we prioritize our own peace. It’s time that we purposefully sought out peace for yourselves. It’s time that we created more peace in our lives. And there are so many ways to do it!
What brings you peace? What allows you to slow down and catch your breath? What nourishes you and helps you feel grounded and whole? We talk about all this and much more in this episode!

I’m back from summer holidays and ready to give you your podcast dose of encouragement, support and sisterly love. If you are feeling a little lost lately, you are NOT alone. The whole world is in a state of transition as we stare down the barrels of so many unknowns. It’s OK to feel a little (or a lot) lost right now. It’s normal, even. And I’m here to remind you that you are strong and powerful, even when you feel lost. PLUS, feeling lost is part of our heroine’s journey. Or as Christina Feldman explains in her fantastic book, “The Quest of the Warrior Woman”, a “season of discontent” is part of our warrior process. We are growing, evolving and figuring out how to use our power for GOOD.
No woman is an island. So glad to be back with you!

What a week, right? What year is this even? How do I process all that’s happening in the world? We cover that and much more in our latest episode. There are plenty of reasons to become radicalized - to hold views in opposition to the current political, social, or religious status quo. We have SO many systems that are not working for us. It’s time we challenge these systems by speaking up - using our voices AND our actions. It’s time we practise radical self-acceptance, radical self-love, radical compassion and radical self-worth. It’s time we acknowledge that we’ve been radicalized and now we are ready for the next steps. Come on ladies, let’s get in formation.
And dayum, we need to stop the roll back on human rights, including women’s personhood and sovereignty.

It’s time for a little healing, letting go and all that other good stuff. In this episode we talk about why women find it so hard to forgive themselves and why we punish ourselves for past perceived mistakes. We also talk about the magic of forgiving ourselves and creating room for our better, happier future. We even finish the episode with a tiny, easy exercise in realtime to help you forgive yourself a little more. You and your bright future deserve it.

If Mothers Ran the World There Would Be No War
In this episode designed to empower and encourage, Kelly talks about what it would mean if mothers ran the world. We look at cultures where women and mothers traditionally lead and talk about how after making, growing and keeping alive another human, you are less likely to send a child to war. We talk about the power of women to “break the script” of the status quo and how it’s time that people with pro-social, pro-future, pro-collective good perspectives were catapulted into decision-making and leadership positions.
Quotes mentioned in the episode: “I am sure that if the mothers of various nations could meet, there would be no more wars.” - E. M. Forster
I do honestly think that if women were running the world there would be more investment in peace, because basically as women we do not want to see our children killed. Maybe I am completely idealistic, but until we see women in equal positions of power in the world, I just think that we are doomed.” - Meryl Streep
“If men cannot get along without the shedding of blood and putting the knife to the throat of a brother, let them no longer set themselves up as guides and rulers but confess their self-evident insufficiency and turn the management of affairs over to the mothers who will temper their justice with love and enthrone mercy on the highways.” - Mary Elizabeth Lease

I was so glad to chat with Elaine Dunphy about the revolution of joy and the beauty of connecting to our bodies. Elaine teaches classes of beautiful moving meditations called NIA. And who couldn’t use more tools to add joy, health and happiness to our lives? PLUS, I have great news that she’s giving us all a FREE CLASS in the Strong Women Co Tribe! Let’s make more joy in our lives!
As Elaine explains it, “As adults we are somehow of the belief that there is no time for bringing out our inner child to play anymore - Nia is an outlet to let that happen. Nia invites you to step away from your everyday schedule and take one hour just for you to dance and move your body. The neat part is that if you have two left feet, Nia is a perfect class for you - this is about moving your body YOUR way. The result is stress free movement of your body done to uplifting music that leaves you feeling relaxed and refreshed.
Elaine’s personal mantra is JOY – finding it in her life and sharing it with others and creating joy through movement sharing the Nia Philosophy with her students.”
It’s time we focused on ourselves a little more. Let’s do this!

In this episode, we talk a little about the year that was 2021 and then dive into the REAL reason most of us have any nice feelings or memories of Christmas: strong women. It’s women who organize the festive events, synchronize schedules, buy the majority of thoughtful presents and bake almost all the cookies. Women make Christmas. Really, women make the nicest parts of life. So, this time of year celebrate yourself and all the women in your life that make life BETTER!
We finish off the episode with a special live recording of one of the most beautiful songs to ever celebrate a woman, Ave Maria recorded in Sint-Janskathedraal in Den Bosch.

And we are back! Woohoo! In this episode we talk about how women can set themselves up to win so that they can save (and be!) themselves! There’s a lie we’ve been told: it's that we need something or someone outside of ourselves to save us. No, ma’am. The ONLY one that can save you, heal you and protect you is YOU. There’s a freedom and power that comes from realizing that you have everything you will ever need inside you. So, be your own hero, set yourself up to win. Be that princess who saves herself! Be the Queen who reigns confidently over her queendom. You are a GROWN WOMAN, you can do WHATEVER you want!

The word “strong” used to be exclusively associated with physical strength but recently we’ve begun to realize that true strength is of the emotional and psychological variety. In this episode I walk you through some easy tools to better understand your own strength and resilience. I also offer theories as to why women, as a group, are so very strong. It’s important to know your own strength and be reminded of your own power. Recognizing that you are a Strong Woman is still a revolutionary act in a world that teaches you to hide your strength. Let’s celebrate our fortitude and adaptability - let’s celebrate our strength and resilience!

In this episode we talk with the famous + talented author + trailblazer, Patricia Lynn Reilly about women-affirming actions, words and realities. We talk about reclaiming our lives, images and bodies as our own while dismantling the patriarchy, one revolutionary act at a time. Patricia Lynn brings her beautiful work to us to highlight the power of personal sovereignty in a society that pressures us to look perpetually young while ignoring (silencing?) the challenges and triumphs of our years. How is it that “aging naturally” is still revolutionary for women while men gain status and power as they age?
Strong women, it is time we thought about aging differently. It’s time we honoured and celebrated the accumulation of our years and wisdom!

When we hear other women’s journeys of healing it helps us make sense of our own. In my most honest and raw podcast yet I talk about a big part of my own healing journey and where I am with it now. Healing isn’t something you do just once and it’s done. Healing takes time to unfold. And the layers, oh my the non-linear layers. Sometimes things come up in your healing journey that you thought were over, that you thought were healed. But then they pop back up begging for further light, healing and love. It’s important to acknowledge that you haven’t gone backwards. And it’s ok to be re-triggered sometimes. Why? Because: Healing is NOT linear or simple or straightforward or even obvious.
To be honest, I felt VERY vulnerable as I recorded this episode. I had to keep reminding myself that storytelling is healing. That the personal is political. And that making (and sharing) this podcast episode is part of my own healing journey. So, if you are listening to this show it means I put on my “big girl” pants and decided that my story was worth telling. Walk the walk, right? Not just talk the talk. Let's do this!
Let’s normalize sharing our healing journeys. Let’s refuse the isolation silos that the patriarchy puts us in. Let’s support each other in our healing journeys.
Thanks for bearing witness to part of my healing story. I'd love to hear yours! Listening to one another’s experiences is one of the most curative things we can do.

Happy Pride! One is not born, but rather becomes a woman. “One is not born, but rather becomes a woman” is a quote by Simone de Beauvoir in her 1949 book, in which she discusses the treatment of women throughout history. This quote is a great reminder that becoming a woman is a process for us all, including our trans sisters. In this episode I talk with Rhea Rollmann, the award-winning journalist, writer and radio producer/podcaster based in Newfoundland, Canada. Rhea is a brilliant and thoughtful woman who shares part of her story of transition, “coming out” and the beauty of rediscovering oneself. We talk about gender identity, normalizing the inevitability of individual transformation and the freedom of being who you truly are. We also speak about the importance of Pride and how we can prioritize “joy” in our lives (and our social activism).
To Rhea: A special thank you to you for sharing your experiences and wisdom with us. And as my station Program Manager, without you, the Strong Women Power (half) Hour would NOT be where it is today. Mad love! Xo
Happy Pride everyone!

There’s a common theme that keeps coming up lately. Women keep saying, “I just want to feel like myself again.” These last 16+ months have left many of us aching for us to just “feel like ourselves”, whatever that may be. We remember a version of ourselves that wasn’t so depleted and wary from dealing with the pandemic. Many of us remember a version of ourselves that wasn’t so burnt out and had more energy. It makes sense that we long for that sense of self as many of us are beginning to think about what “life after the pandemic” may look like.
We’ve changed and grown. We’ve faced fears and stresses beyond our imaginations. And we will be stronger and more resilient for it. And yes, it’s hard. All (re)birth is.
In this episode Kelly helps you to start “feeling like yourself” again through real-life tips you can use.
Get to know your wiser, stronger self. She’s pretty kick-ass.

There’s something undeniable about the power of an eclipse. Ancient peoples would look up at them in awe similarly to the way we do now. Eclipses are about shedding the old skin, letting go of old patterns and creating space for the new. They are about healing and growing. They are a wonderful time to reflect, go inward and we have extra tools to help you get through this next powerful eclipse season! In this pod we have Astrologer Jennifer Collins on to help us understand the astrology, emotions and realities around the upcoming eclipse season. Also, we have created a special Lunar Eclipse Kit and playlist to aid you on your journey of discovery and healing. Let’s connect to our ancient women ways. Let’s honour ourselves and our journeys. Every try, every ounce of effort counts in this game called life. Trying MATTERS. And in current times when we may be feeling “effort fatigue” due to all the extra energy, work and time even simple tasks take, it’s nice to be reminded that all the effort, energy and TRYING matters. It’s accumulative and it’s the only way anything ever gets done, really. Research-wise, effort matters even more than ability or talent! Your perseverance matters. Your grit matters. Showing up matters. Make sure to celebrate your endurance and resilience. You deserve it. We are going through one of the weirdest times in history. Let’s focus on our “wins” and honour our efforts thus far.

There’s a lie that is told and repeated to keep us small and it is that we are somehow not enough. It’s the underlying belief rotted in so much negative thinking, sadness and even illness. But we are here to tell you (or remind you, because we all need reminding sometimes) that you are ABSOLUTELY enough. And that trying your best is, of course, enough. And maybe with our little visual meditation you may feel it in your bones a little more. Knowing that you are enough is peace. And you deserve peace.

This is the time for new beginnings. We’ve faced so many endings in the last year but like the ancient trilogy of the Goddess teaches us, there is birth, death and rebirth. And this is REBIRTH time. There is hope! There is light at the end of this tunnel! Some of us thrive in times of change and others struggle with finding our footing amid the “newness” of things. Whatever camp you are in, our host Kelly gives you five ways to turn endings into new beginnings with minimal pain and maximum joy.
Vive la révolution!
Remember: You are strong and capable. You are growing and healing. We are birthing a whole new world, together. And we were made for these times.

What we all need right now is to be extra kind and gentle with ourselves. It’s been a long, strange and confusing year. It can be tempting to critique ourselves or to try to rush back to some kind of “normal” but what we really need is patience, encouragement and support. The good news? In this story, the princess saves HERSELF. But to do that she must be nice to herself. She must listen to herself. And she must value her own voice and needs. It’s time to turn up the self-compassion and increase the positive self-talk. It’s time to be nice to yourself. You got this!
You are here. You are whole. You are a strong woman.

We all know these are trying times but there are things we can do to get grounded and clarify the meaningful stuff while letting the less important things fall away. We can bring those treasured joys to the forefront of our mind and day. As Trooper taught us, the sun can’t shine everyday but we are here for a good time. And hopefully a long time, too!

Wow, we have normalized so much hard stuff in the last year. And if you’ve been feeling pressure to be OK, despite the chaos and change swirling around, you are NOT alone. In this pod and radio show we encourage and support our listeners to feel and be whatever they are right now. It’s powerful and healing to be honest with ourselves as we face these times of massive uncertainty and ongoing stress. It’s wonderful to accept yourself for where you are and your feelings for what they are. Your future self is thanking you for all the hard stuff you are going through right now. Give yourself some love AND a pat on the back. You are feeling and healing the whole world as you do the work on yourself. Thank you for all you do and are doing to make it through. And sometimes simply existing is ENOUGH.

Featured song: The Healing Room by Sinéad O'Connor
I have a universe inside me Where I can go and spirit guides me There I can ask oh any question I get the answers if I listen I have a healing room inside me
The loving healers there they feed me They make me happy with their laughter They kiss and tell me I'm their daughter I'm their daughter
They say
You have a little voice inside you It doesn't matter who you think you may be You're not free if you don't know me If you don't know me See I'm not the lie that lives outside you And it doesn't matter what You think you believe You're not free if you don't know me If you don't know me See I am the universe inside you You come to me and I will guide you And make you happy with laughter I joy in seeing you're my daughter You're my daughter So believe you're not free if you don't know me If you don't know me
Living in hope is ALWAYS better than living in fear. And despite the rocky start to the year, most of us are SO ready for more optimism and faith right now. There’s a shift occurring. And even if the last year has caused us to be extra cautious, there is a growing desire to do better and be better. But what shall be? The question can be as paralyzing as it is wondrous. However, if we approach it with hope and confidence in our hearts, if we remember how truly powerful and resilient we are (individually and collectively), then we can create the better world that is aching to be born. We are part of the solution.
We shall overcome.
Reminder: We were made for these times.

We’ve survived 2020 and lived to tell about it! Yay!
We made it! We are going to survive 2020 and live to tell about it! This time of year is usually meant to be slower and more reflective as we celebrate life and all we’ve learned but this year there’s even more to process that usual. We all need to take some time to digest and absorb what this year has been, what we’ve experienced, what it has felt like and what it all means to us. Individually and collectively we’ve all learned and grown A LOT. Taking time to integrate that knowledge and lived experience is helpful and wise. And, of course, we can’t forget to celebrate all the good stuff, too.
Rest, reflect and rejoice. We are stronger and more aware than ever!
Happiest holidays to our wonderful listeners! We wish you joy, love and rest this holiday season! Happiest New Year, too! Rock on!

One of the best ways you can help yourself in times of stress and uncertainty (like 2020!) is to focus on what you can control, instead of what you can’t. People of all ages are burning out from the intensity and strain of this year. Mental health issues are on the rise everywhere. But there is good news: You have the power to focus (or refocus) your attention. YOU say what gets your time and energy. And in this episode Kelly offers up some support and helpful tips on how to focus on the things that are in the locus of your control and how to be choosy with what gets your precious time, energy and attention.
You are much more powerful than you realize. Make good choices for yourself and you’ll be fine. This is a marathon, not a sprint.
We are going to survive this year!

You are a child of the Universe and everything is unfolding exactly as it should - what a relief, right? That’s the main theme of this episode of the Strong Women Power Half-hour! In this challenging time of uncertainty it is powerful to be reminded of our power to help ourselves be grounded, reassured and whole. After everything this year has brought we are more tired and weary than usual but that makes this the perfect time to feed ourselves supportive and nourishing things. Listen to this episode to increase the peace in your heart and stability in your mind. Oh, and Kelly throws in some real life examples of the Divine Feminine, too!
You are doing great. Trust in yourself. You are doing hard things and you are still alive and kicking! And if you are ever swimming in doubt, confusion or anxiety repeat these affirmations to yourself (from the Mother of Affirmations, Louis Hay):
All is well. Everything is working out for my highest good. Out of this situation only good will come. I am safe.
Life only makes sense in hindsight. Have faith in yourself. You are doing the best you can and that’s ENOUGH. Everything in perfect time.

Wow. This year has been one wild ride. Collectively we have each been on our own journeys of facing our deepest fears (including the unknown) and we are still HERE. In this episode Kelly talks about the realities of 2020 through the lenses of the creation/destruction Goddesses Kali and Pelé while acknowledging how anxiety and depression creeps in at times of uncertainty and exhaustion. Kelly encourages you to ask for help and to give your past (and present) self some love for surviving this whole thing thus far. We include some journal prompts to help unload your subconscious and create more space for all that’s coming and wrap it up with a song that captures the whole vibe of the episode.
Be kind to yourself. You are doing great. Now make sure to tell yourself that.

No matter what, we need to create a livable life for ourselves. And even amid the chaos, we CAN create a livable life. There will always be stressors and distractions but we DESERVE a livable life with joy, rest, creativity and connectivity. Start with what you have control over (and let go of the things you don’t). You deserve all the good things. You deserve happiness and peace. So make that life for yourself as best you can. Covid realities have intensified our stresses, making it all that much more important to focus on the good things we have and increasing the joy whenever possible.
Start small. Everything is just baby steps anyway. You can do this. You are the master creator of your life.

We are in a time for transformation and change, individually and collectively. We are refusing to accept racial injustices anymore. We are opening our eyes to the systems that no longer serve us. We are angry, exhausted and determined to create a better world. We are evolving. Relationships are ending and the truth is bubbling up. It is time for us to say ENOUGH to the injustices, police brutality and violence. It is time for us to LISTEN to the experiences of our black and brown sisters and brothers. It is time to eradicate racism for the archaic, cruel, unjust underlying, all-encompassing system that it is. We can do it. We must do it. We are DOING it. Let’s keep going!

Raise your hand if you’ve been having all the feels this week? Yeah, we thought so. Everyone who is allowing themselves to feel is up, down and sideways as we experience, process, grieve and try to wrap our minds around this pandemic and our “new normal." In this episode, Kelly helps you identify those feelings and understand that they are completely natural and expected in a time like this. We are all experiencing unprecedented stress, confusion and uncertainty. You may feel overwhelmed or even “crazy” at times. You may be having mood swings, trouble concentrating or your anxiety may be through the roof - all of these things are a natural response to the stimulus and trauma we are collectively and individually experiencing. You are NOT alone. Whatever you are feeling - others are feeling it, too. Ease up on yourself and let yourself feel what you feel. It’s OK to be a mess. It’s OK to fall apart. It’s OK to feel happy and grateful without feeling guilty. In this time of chaos and uncertainty, give yourself space and time to feel whatever you feel. That’s where the healing starts. And hopefully this pod will help you feel a little more sane and a little less alone.
Stay safe, everyone. We are all in this together.

We are ALL going through one of the most challenging times of our lives right now. ALL of us, together. It may look a little different from person to person but we are sharing the same fears and worries for our future, our families and our lives. We have never been so connected. We’ve never had such an opportunity to change things for the BETTER. And yes, this is HARD. We are dealing with and processing so much. This episode is designed to encourage and empower you during this particularly challenging time. In it, Kelly has a real talk about all that’s going on - the good stuff, the hard stuff and the stuff that boils her blood. Plus, she gives you FIVE tips on how to survive this pandemic (and no, she’s not talking about washing your hands but obv, yes, do that, too). And this week’s featured song finishes off the pod to help you feel the love.

MANY of us are going through big transitions, gateways and initiations right now. The old ways aren’t working anymore so we are all working individually and collectively on these big (and necessary) transformations of our inner and outer worlds. Gateways and thresholds are a crucial part of our growth, evolution AND revolution. They signify a “before” and “after”. They remind us of how far we’ve come. They make us face our fears and JUMP. Whether it's a tribal rite of passage signifying a big milestone or a personal transition towards a more aligned life, acknowledging the gateway you are walking (or crawling!) through can be hugely valuable and helpful. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and you are walking towards it! Maybe it means you have to move or start a new job or finally create that business or stand up to your family - whatever it looks like for you, honor your process and KEEP GOING.
We are “levelling up” as we enter the next phase of our lives! Like the Goddess Hecate teaches, the thresholds and gateways are there for you but it’s up to YOU to walk through them. That’s the beauty of free will.
But don’t worry, you got this. We got this, together.

In this episode Kelly talks passionately about the importance of Greta Thunberg’s much needed message and inspiration. She talks about being an environmentalist as a kid (Captain Planet, anyone?) and why Greta may just be the perfect person to speak truth to power. Also, what’s with all those Greta-haters? What could be so wrong with a kid trying to save the world? We gotta address that. And to help you understand Greta and her message better, beyond what she says to world leaders, this episode includes clips of Greta speaking in her own words about her experiences and where her passions come from. Plus, we can all learn from the Greta and her focus on the science. She may be little, but she be fierce! And this world needs all the fierce, truth-speaking little girls we can get!

In this week's pod Kelly talks with POWERHOUSE author and creator Trista Hendren about her latest book, “How to Live Well Despite Capitalist Patriarchy”! It’s a great convo between two women who are figuring out how to resist and change the status quo while honouring their woman-selves in a world that tells them what and who they should be. We bet you'll learn something about how to heal, understand and care for yourself better!
Excerpt from the book:
“Capitalist Patriarchy sucks for women. We are taught to blame ourselves incessantly for everything that is wrong in our lives—without looking at the bigger picture of structural inequality at play. My hope is that as more women begin to wake up and share with each other, we will heal ourselves and weave our way out of this hellish maze together.
Capitalist Patriarchy thrives when women shut up and do as they are told. While it would appear (for some of us at least) that if we play by the rules, we will be safe—those of us who begin to rock the boat with our questioning and refusal to STFU know how easy it is to be thrown off the boat altogether—children and all.
This book will serve as a starting point to challenge some of our societal assumptions, in hopes of helping women become stronger and breaking their chains. As we begin to heal collectively, we can overturn this system altogether.”

Speaking from her own personal experience, Kelly dives in deep and talks about BURNOUT. What is it? What does it look like? Why does it happen? Who is most likely to get burnout? If you’ve ever been in a long “I just don’t feel like it” mood - you’ve likely felt burnout. If you are a workaholic, a people pleaser or a perfectionist - you’ve likely felt burnout. Emotionally and physically exhausted while feeling a lack of connection? That could be burnout. And maybe burnout is part of modern-day reality in the capitalist Patriarchy? We discuss all that PLUS what to do when you are feeling burnt out!

Featured song: “Unapologetic Bitch” by Madonna https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7lzOXlK1D8
Woke up this morning feeling that you were gone I thought awhile, but I'm finally moving on Said it, did it, hit it, quit it Then you let it go
See you tryin' to call me, but I blocked you on the phone It took a minute, but now I'm feeling strong It almost killed me, but I'm better off alone Now you sayin' that you're sorry, I don't wanna know Better face the fact you had to go It might sound like I'm an unapologetic bitch But sometimes you know I gotta call it like it is It might sound like I'm an unapologetic bitch But sometimes you know I gotta call it like it is You know you never really knew how much you loved me 'til you lost me Did you? You know you never really knew how much your selfish bullshit cost me Well, fuck you It might sound like I'm an It might sound like I'm an
I know you'd like it if I stayed home and cried But that ain't gonna happen, here's the reason why When we did it, I'll admit it, wasn't satisfied When the gun was loaded you were never on my side I'm popping bottles that you can't even afford I'm throwing parties and you won't get in the door Said it, did it, loved it, hated it I don't care no more Tell me how it feels to be ignored
In this bonus pod you get a self-love meditation to help your break open that beautiful heart of yours and fill it with LOVE! There is SO MUCH love here for you! Set some time aside for yourself, relax and listen!

Get ready to open up and heal! This week's podcast is on self-acceptance, self-forgiveness & self-compassion! We also talk about "Mothering the self" - a SUPER helpful concept to help you stop looking to others for validation and worth!
Some take-a-ways include:
SELF-COMPASSION is: +Self-kindness - being warm and understanding of yourself +Common humanity - realizing all humans suffer and make mistakes +Mindfulness - observe your thoughts and feelings from an open, receptive and non-judgemental state without trying to suppress or deny them
The THREE parts of "Mothering the self" are: 1. Recognize you are worthy of love 2. Perceive your own needs (journaling is great!) 3. Meet you own needs (this builds trust and security!)
Self-acceptance, forgiveness and compassion are key elements of self-love and you deserve them all! May you listen to this podcast and find new ways to give yourself self-compassion!

Many of us are taught that our sensitivity is a weakness or a fault but deep down we know that our sensitivity is a gift to be honoured. Learn about them and more as Kelly talks about her own journey of accepting and respecting her sensitivity and what you can do to help understand yourself. This is a great pod for Empaths, too!
Featured song: "I'm sensitive " by Jewel
"I was thinking that I might fly today Just to disprove all the things that you say It doesn't take a talent to be mean Your words can crush things that are unseen So please be careful with me, I'm sensitive And I'd like to stay that way
You always tell me that it's impossible To be respected, and be a girl Why's it gotta be so complicated Why you gotta tell me if I'm hated Oh please be careful with me, I'm sensitive And I'd like to stay that way"

resilience noun re·sil·ience | \ri-ˈzil-yən(t)s The ability to recover from or adjust easily to difficulties, misfortune or change Resilience is the #1 key indicator in your happiness and success (as YOU define it)! Fall down seven, get up eight, right? You ARE resilient. And the more you acknowledge that part of you the better off you will be! Keep on rockin' it, sister. You got this.
Featured song: ICON FOR HIRE - "You Can't Kill Us" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezdyy7FeF8M
fave lyrics from song: One day we're gonna wake up, we're gonna be alright. We'll look back and be happy that we kept ourselves alive. We'll honor where we came from, see what the hurt was for. But we don't let our past hold us hostage anymore. Cause we got more to give, more to live, more to be. More to who we are than our broken history. Like an army we all know it's not all better yet. But we hold on, stay strong, and never forget
You can't, you can't kill us You can't, you can't kill us
We've been lost, been to the bottom. Beaten up, torn and forgotten. Still we fight, we will survive. Can't kill the fire we feel inside. We've been burned, drained and depleted. Left alone, we're not defeated. Still we fight, we will survive. Can't kill the fire we feel inside.
There's a lot of power in acknowledging and allowing for your natural processes. And part of that means falling apart sometimes. And that's OK. In fact, it's better than OK. It's necessary for growth and evolution. Falling apart or breaking down is not a sign of weakness, it's a sign that you're ready to let go and GROW. There's beauty in the breakdown.

As promised, here's your healing, grounding and connecting meditation! Take a few minutes, sit or lie down, listen, let go. Connect. Recharge. You deserve it! And remember, Strong Women - we are all connected!
Don't be afraid of it. Your rage and anger are SUPER important! The world needs you to tap into (and express) your true feelings NOW more than ever. You can do it! We can help. Women all over are feeling the important feelings of Sacred Rage and Righteous Anger - these crucial feelings help shape and grow our society for the better. However, women aren't really "allowed" to be angry in the Patriarchy. So, what's a girl to do? Rage on, sisters. We rage on as we rise! And we are in this together!

Intro song: Goddess by Iggy Azaela
Featured song: Follow Your Arrow by Kacey Musgraves
If you save yourself for marriage You're a bore If you don't save yourself for marriage You're a whore-able person If you won't have a drink Then you're a prude But they'll call you a drunk As soon as you down the first one
If you can't lose the weight Then you're just fat But if you lose too much Then you're on crack You're damned if you do And you're damned if you don't So you might as well just do Whatever you want So
Make lots of noise Kiss lots of boys Or kiss lots of girls If that's something you're into When the straight and narrow Gets a little too straight Roll up a joint, or don't Just follow your arrow Wherever it points, yeah Follow your arrow Wherever it points
If you don't go to church You'll go to hell If you're the first one On the front row You're self-righteous Son of a- Can't win for losing You'll just disappoint 'em Just 'cause you can't beat 'em Don't mean you should join 'em
So make lots of noise Kiss lots of boys Or kiss lots of girls If that's something you're into When the straight and narrow Gets a little too straight Roll up a joint, or don't Just follow your arrow Wherever it points, yeah Follow your arrow Wherever it points
Say what you think Love who you love 'Cause you just get So many trips 'round the sun Yeah, you only Only live once
So make lots of noise Kiss lots of boys Or kiss lots of girls If that's what you're into When the straight and narrow Gets a little too straight Roll up a joint, I would And follow your arrow Wherever it points, yeah Follow your arrow Wherever it points
