So much of CELT's work—and the work of teaching and learning in general—happens through sustained discussion and reflection. The CELT Podcast Network was imagined as a way to have these conversations in a public forum, as a way of showcasing the incredible work of our scholar-educators and the UK teaching community at large. Podcasts here engage with faculty, staff, and students on a range of critical issues related to teaching and learning, from specific classroom practices to larger perspectives on higher education. We invite you to listen in to our shows below, and reach out to us if there's something you'd like to explore further! We always like to keep the conversation going.

In this special episode of the Celt Podcast Network, Dr. Jennifer Osterhage shares her thoughts and experiences working as a researcher in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (or SoTL). Dr. Osterhage is interviewed by CELT’s Acting Director Trey Conatser and Drs. Janine L. Schmedding-Bartley and Leslie Woltenberg, leaders of a new Faculty Learning Community focused on SoTL offered by the College of Health Sciences. This FLC panel focuses on the research Dr. Osterhage has already undertaken and where she sees work in SoTL going both as a field and specifically at the University of Kentucky.
As our intrepid journey through the guidelines of universal design comes to a close, Jennifer and David gather one last time in order to talk about that final box: "Executive Functions."

Moving on with the Representation guidelines, Jennifer and David explore "Perception" and how we can practice accessible learning in the classroom!
In this episode, we explore "Self Regulation." How do we get students to push themselves farther? And how do we encourage that line of thinking to continue over the course of a semester?
In this episode, Jennifer and David dive into "Sustaining Effort & Persistence." How do we make sure that students put forth not just effort, but their best effort? More than that, how do we assure student success as they continue their education beyond our classroom?

In the first episode of this series, hosts Jennifer Pusateri and David Cole discuss the basics of Universal Design for Learning and how we can better incorporate it into our teaching. Briefly touching on the history and philosophy of UDL, they turn to the UDL Guidelines, a research-based framework designed to help instructors make their teaching more accessible and inclusive.
