1.) Enjoy each season
2.) What do you want the nights to look like now?
3.) What am I doing today for their tomorrow?
ROMANS 12:17-21
17 Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. 18 Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.
19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge;
I will pay them back,”
says the Lord.
20 Instead,
“If your enemies are hungry, feed them.
If they are thirsty, give them something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap
burning coals of shame on their heads.”
21 Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.

MATTHEW 18:15-17
15 If a brother sins against you, go to him privately and confront him with his fault. If he listens and confesses it, you have won back a brother. 16 But if not, then take one or two others with you and go back to him again, proving everything you say by these witnesses. 17 If he still refuses to listen, then take your case to the church, and if the church’s verdict favors you, but he won’t accept it, then the church should excommunicate him
As parents, we start off controlling every aspect of our child's life. We discuss practical ways to release control and begin to influence and when that right time is.

1 Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord,[a] for this is the right thing to do. 2“Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: 3If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”[b]
4Fathers,[c] do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord. (Ephesians 6:1-4 NLT)
- Don’t discipline because of anger, discipline to teach and restore the relationship

What is it?
- Holy Spirit is our helper to live godly lives
- The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity (Father, Son, Spirit)
- He is a gift from God
- Baptism is not salvation
Why do I want it for my child?
- Living for Jesus is hard
- Holy Spirit teaches
- But when the Father sends the Comforter instead of me—and by the Comforter I mean the Holy Spirit—he will teach you much, as well as remind you of everything I myself have told you. (John 14:26)
- Guides you
- When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. (John 16:13)
- Gives us power
- But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power to testify about me with great effect, to the people in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth, about my death and resurrection.” (Acts 1:8)
- Power to be a witness
How do I receive it?
- Ask for the gift
- The physical evidence that you’ve received this supernatural gift is speaking in tongues, a supernatural language from God.
- Holy Spirit won’t force you to do this
- Holy Spirit gives you the words, you speak them
Even as Peter was saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those listening! 45 The Jews who came with Peter were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit would be given to Gentiles too! 46-47 But there could be no doubt about it,[c] for they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. (Acts 10:44-47)
- Keep asking for it
- When you want something, you keep asking
- Can ask anywhere, anytime
- Sometimes Jesus wants us to care more about Him than the gift
- Keep obeying and loving Jesus daily, making Him #1.
- God doesn’t give the gift out just willy nilly
What happens next?
- Being baptized is just the start
- A greater love for God and people
- Having God’s eyes, God’s heart
- Easier to witness
- Holy Spirit will help you not sin
- Pray in tongues at will
- When I pray in a group, I often pray in the Spirit
- Fruit of the Spirit
- Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentlest, and self control
- Gifts of the Spirit
- Prophecy,
How to lead your child into it?
- Teach you kid about the Holy Spirit
- Might feel weird, but it is supernatural
- You might feel unqualified
- Share what you’ve learned today
- Receive the Baptism yourself, share your story
- Encourage your child to seek the Holy Spirit on their own
- Pray with them/over them
- If you make it not weird, it wont be
- If you make it weird, it’ll be weird
- Why should your house be a weird place to pray for the gift of the Spirit?
- Ask about it, talk about it
- Encourage your child to seek the Holy Spirit on their own

Letting go is difficult. It's an art, not a science.
We teach our kids now to let them go. (Proverbs 22:6, Deuteronomy 6:6-9).
We as parents hold on tightly because we want to be in control instead of trusting God to lead our kids.
Being generous is believing there’s always enough to share, no matter how much you have.

Galatians 5:16-23
16 So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.
22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
As parents, we’re trying to set our kids up for success while also enjoying their day to day. In this episode, we'll share the importance of praying for your child's heart and some specific ways to pray.
Proverbs 4:23 Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
Jeremiah 17:9-10 “The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.”
1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

We all want a Godly family that likes each other - even after our kids are grown and out of the house. So how do we create that in real life? Two things we as parents can do to create a Godly home - model our faith and talk about Jesus often.

- Scary stuff is everywhere and we can't avoid Halloween. So let's leverage it for spiritual growth!
WHERE I’M COMING FROM BIBLICALLY
- God is a god of peace and joy
- Jesus came to bring people back to life from death and sin
- Jesus is described as the hope and light of the world
- If you’re a follower of Jesus, then our worldview should correlate with Jesus
- Jesus came to bring healing, not glorify sickness
- Through His death we gain eternal life, the end result being the focus not his death
- Eternity is real and the missions of every Jesus follows is to get people to Heaven, not Hell
HOW TO TALK ABOUT THIS HOLIDAY
- Decide with your spouse, by yourself where you stand
- You can talk about these things without adding a spooky factor to it
- Death is the main topic of Halloween
- Give a Christian understanding of death
- God didn’t want us to die, but sin caused death. Jesus came to save us.

- Try and identify fear
- What is scary about it?
- What is the concern will happen?
