In this week’s episode, I want to explore the often-muddled line between professional paid work and hobbies. Should the two ever be combined? What are the pros and cons to blurring these lines? Does taking a hobby and turning it into a business or revenue stream kill your flow or take the pleasure out of it? This is a topic I have grappled with over the years, and this year, I think I’ve come to a few conclusions and want to share those with you in this week’s episode. I’ll reveal what I think are the top three elements you should consider if you’re going to take a hobby and turn it into a business.

This week I wanted to pop in to talk about one of my favorite topics – productivity, but more specifically, the act of getting something done because you made it a priority. So many of us feel like we’re slaves to our schedules with everything that needs to happen in a given day. But I have discovered certain things to be true, and one of those is to really take to heart the following: if it doesn’t get scheduled, it doesn’t get done!
In this episode, I let you in on some of my own experiences with planning and the key ingredients to getting things done.

Well, let’s just address the elephant in the room...I've been "missing" for several months. Towards the last quarter of 2020, I was gearing up for a whole slew of crazy cool episodes I wanted to release. I thought I was ready to dive back in full force. I was WRONG!
In this episode, I reveal what's been going on, what I'm working on, and what my 2021 plans are. It's probably not what you're expecting!
After listening to this episode, tell me: What are your goals or wishes for 2021? Are there activities you plan NOT to do in order to make space or time for new ones that will serve you better? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.

This week, I’m addressing an issue that comes up a lot for me and my entrepreneur friends, and that’s this feeling of being ‘alone’ in our businesses. Whether you’re an entrepreneur with a team or a solopreneur with a small team or you’re a team of one, entrepreneurialism can be a lonely place…
Especially if people in your immediate surroundings or environment just don’t ‘get you’, or don’t get what you’re trying to build, achieve, be or do…
In this episode, I give you five suggestions or five ways as to how you can up-level yourself and your business by creating a more tailored ‘circle of 5’.

As I kick off a fresh batch of summer episodes for you, this week I’m focusing on a concept that has truly fascinated me for the past several years…and that’s TIME. Not just time itself or the passing of it, but the EFFICIENT use of it.
I recently wrote an article titled “Manufacturing Time: Start Living the Life You Thought You Didn’t Have Time For” which was published in ALOVEDLIFE Magazine. In the article, I really dive into the concept of manufacturing/creating “more time” for the things you love to do or dream of doing.
In this week’s episode, I give you a solid glimpse into the meat n’ potatoes of that article, so you can start doing MORE of the things you love to do and stop believing that you don’t have the time!

I’m coming at you this week with something a little different – a short and sweet solo episode of my musings and thoughts over the past few weeks.
I recently spent a couple of weeks overseas on a mini family vacation and while there, I had a few strong thoughts and streams of consciousness that seemed to come at me on repeat, so I thought I’d share them with you and see what you think…and whether or not you agree with some of the conclusions I’ve come to regarding certain aspects of entrepreneurship.

What are the biggest problems that most companies have with their websites, and why is fixing them not as simple as just redesigning them? That’s the question we’re going to answer this week on the Raise Your Frequency Podcast.
We’re chatting with Chris Dayley, VP of Site Testing & Optimization at Disruptive Advertising. Chris is a digital marketing entrepreneur with a passion for helping businesses succeed online. In 2016 he merged his company with Disruptive Advertising, offering full-service A/B solutions to clients including strategy, design, development and analytics. He’s worked with big names in the podcasting world such as John Lee Dumas, and he’s going to make us think twice about what we’ve been doing (or NOT doing) with our websites.

In this episode, we’re going to toe-dip into her book’s main premise…busting the old-fashioned belief in working harder and longer to achieve success.

This week we’re diving into businesses that operate on monthly recurring revenue from their clients, as opposed to working with clients on a project-to-project basis and constantly being on the hunt for new clients to hit certain revenue numbers.
So how does it all work? How did Madeleine Lambert, CEO and Co-Founder of Content Refined, manage to create 50K in monthly recurring revenue in just two short years in business? In this episode, Madeleine pulls back the curtain and reveals some of the strategies and systems in place that have allowed Content Refined to be successful with this model.

This week, we’re going back to ‘business basics’, because at this time of year, if you don’t get the fundamentals right, you’re not going to be effective no matter what hoops you jump through. My guest this week is Tom Waltz, a Business Coach, Course Creator and the Founder of WaltzWorks. Tom breaks down Entrepreneurship 101 for our listeners as he teaches us the fundamental concepts we need to master from both the customer and the entrepreneur’s perspective.
To connect with Tom or his business strategy blog, visit https://www.waltzworks.com/
More About Tom:
Tom Waltz is a strategic consultant and coach who works with small business owners to focus their products/services on a specific type of customer, while running their business as efficiently as possible.
Tom believes that most business owners focus too much on what they want to sell, and not enough on what the market wants to buy. (He'll also tell you that business consultants tend to use vague, jargon terms that no one understands!) Tom holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Drexel University.

Many of the entrepreneurs and solopreneurs I meet have a tendency to put their business and work-related tasks at the top of their priority list, resulting in leaving very little or no time for self-care. I count myself among those who struggle to maintain a healthy balance between business tasks or projects, and self-care. That’s why in this episode, I’m going to share with you a list of seven self-care habits I’m working on building. Many of these self-care habits are interconnected, and that’s the beauty of it! Pete Davis is civic reformer from Falls Church, Virginia. As a millennial, Pete’s now infamous commencement speech at Harvard focused on his generation’s defining characteristic – that of being in infinite browsing mode, of keeping options open, of the inability to commit to an idea, a dream or a purpose long enough to see it through. Despite his speech being generation specific, it’s not just millennials that are stuck – this lack of focus and dedication can afflict anyone, no matter your age or current life status.
If your growth as an entrepreneur is stunted by an inability to finish what you start, or perhaps you’re stuck in what some call “analysis paralysis” or the ever-present “Shiny Object Syndrome”, then you don’t want to miss this episode!

We hear a lot about being present in the moment as a catch phrase, but do we really know how to achieve this?
With our fast-paced life-style and never-ending to-do lists, taking the time to really get clear on our goals, our life’s purpose, build great relationships…it can be kind of overwhelming.
My guest this week is an Equine-Assisted Life and Business Coach, author and speaker. Kate Neligan is the Founder of SynergyTV and well as the YouTube channel Conscious Rockstar. The theme of body weight and overall health is a delicate one for entrepreneurs, simply because we tend to put much more focus on building our business rather than setting ourselves up for a healthy lifestyle. We take care of our business tasks and others’ needs first and tend to leave our own health to chance or put it off until our bodies are screaming for help.
My expert guest this week is Michelle Hastie, who’s based out of Northern California. She’s a Binge-Eating Consultant and author of several published books about the psychology of weight loss, food addiction and disorders, and is currently completing her PhD to perform clinical research in this field. On this episode, she’s going to shed some major light on why you just can’t seem to lose the weight, even if you’re doing everything right and following all the accepted rules of the weight-loss game.

Do you ever find yourself daydreaming about writing your own book? A book that somehow allows you to demonstrate your skill sets related to your area of expertise, that could also establish you as a credible source in your field? Though writing your own book may seem like a tedious or overwhelming task, it doesn’t have to be, and it can actually lead you on the path to expanding your brand and influence, like a catalyst that reaches out to the clients you want to work with.
My guest this week is Daria Anne DiGiovanni, host of “Your Book, Your Brand, Your Business” on iHeart Radio and W4CY. As an author, ghostwriter, copywriter and independent publishing consultant, Daria shares with us how writing your own book can help you expand your brand, influence, credibility and ultimately, your reach to your target market. During the episode, she explains how you can get started, what to do if you’re stuck, and how to get your book out into the world!

As entrepreneurs, do you ever feel like your business life and your personal life are constantly in competition with one another? Have you struggled with trying to balance the two, or with finding an appropriate counter-balance?
My guest this week is Colleen Hauk, a certified professional success coach, speaker, trainer and co-author of the book Women Who Ignite. Just a few years ago, Colleen found herself in this all-too-common bind. A working mom of three with a professional career, Colleen felt her personal relationships with her husband and family became strained and she felt like she had to make a choice between her family and her career. Colleen shares with us her breaking point story, and how she came to the realization that she didn’t have to choose, that she could live the “and life” (her own coined term) and be successful at both.
In this episode, find out how to live the “and life”, what it means, and what Colleen did to turn her relationships and her career completely around.

Sleep habits have long been the bane of my existence! It’s a very subtle difference, but one that makes a significant difference in your business and your productivity once you actually GET it. When you’re first starting out in business, it can be HARD to distinguish the difference between working IN your business versus working ON your business, so in this episode I take a deep dive into showing the difference between the two using real-life examples of mistakes I’ve made in this area, and what I’ve learned from one of my all-time favorite business development books, “The One Thing” by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan. We’ll tackle the notion of moving from “E” to “P”, taking you from a haphazard way of growing your business into a more efficient and intentional growth spurt.

Many of us grew up believing that if we put our nose to the grindstone, work as many hours as possible and as hard as possible, somehow, at some point, we’ll become successful, whatever successful means to you.
Part of being an entrepreneur means that you have to be willing to put in the work and do it consistently over time so your efforts compound, but where we OFTEN get it wrong is that we are following a really outdated model for this. On this episode, we’re chatting with Victoria Bauman, a leadership coach based out of Bali, who defines the old-fashioned hustle versus the “woke hustle” and helps us see that we CAN grow our businesses exponentially, rather than linearly.

Whether you work from a home office, an office with four walls and a door, a cubicle in a corporate environment, a co-working space or even if you work out of your car…decluttering our workspaces is something we KNOW we should do regularly, but tends to be one of those tasks we put off until we’re literally drowning in our clutter and there isn’t even a good spot to put down our coffee mug!
On this week’s episode, we’re going to hear from Jennifer Vaaler, a Business Productivity and Home Office Strategist. In 2018, it’s a given that to grow and scale your business, you need to have a strong online presence, but with all the noise on social media, how do you stand out? How you do differentiate yourself from everyone else out there who is running a similar business?
More importantly, how do you create a personal brand that feels authentic to YOU and to your potential customer? Here to answer these questions on the podcast today is Sarena Miller, a Montreal based entrepreneur who is the Founder and President of The Women’s Entrepreneurial Exchange and The Academy for Business Betterment.
In this episode, Sarena describes what we can be doing better when it comes to creating an authentic personal brand online.

In this solo episode, it’s just you and me. Me and you. I’m dishing out the dirt on some of the good, the bad and the downright ridiculous things I’ve done in the past, particularly when it comes to employment, entrepreneurial schemes and sources of income. I’m revealing all this in the hopes that some of you might relate to it, maybe learn from some of the mistakes I’ve made, have a laugh at my expense, and maybe even learn something about yourself along the way.
I’ll reveal some of the many, many types of employment I’ve had in the past, and what I learned from the mistakes I’ve made. At the end of the episode, I invite you to check in with me for accountability, so be sure to take a look below for where to find me outside of the podcast.

What does it actually mean to be grateful, or to practice gratitude? Today’s episode is going to feel and sound a little different. We’re going to tackle the art of being grateful, or in other words, practicing gratitude. You might have heard of this type of deliberate way of thinking in a spiritual context, but have you ever considered it from a business standpoint, or what it can do for your body on cellular level? To help us understand it all, today I’m chatting with Monika Marczuk, a Certified Body Talk Practitioner, Reiki Master and the Founder of Sprouting Tree Wellness, which offers professional holistic services.
Monika will guide us to a foundational definition of what it means to practice gratitude, and she’ll give us a sense of how daily gratitude can impact your health, your body, your relationships and your business. She’ll even give us some tips and tricks on how to get started with gratitude.

Hey there, I’m Lisa Capri and welcome back to the Raise Your Frequency Podcast.
What if you have so many bad habits dragging you down right now, and you don’t know where to begin to make improvements, or to how to go about getting rid of bad habits? In this episode, I want to tackle this very topic, just me and you. You and me. No guest. And I’m going to dig into my past a little for examples of bad habits I acquired, and how I crawled out of them. Well, some of them, anyway! I’m still working on a few, but more on those in another episode.
I’m going to share with you the simple, yet highly effective strategy I use to identify habits that I have that are no longer serving me (or never did), create new ones, and make them stick long term!
In this episode I mention a tool I created to help me do this, and I call it the Habit Modification Playbook. You can grab your FREE copy at: bit.ly/2Io7FTq

We’re going to meet Nick Boris, owner of Snap Forward, a Pittsburgh area network management and Facebook Ads Management company. Nick will share with us how he discovered that his personal development had a greater impact on his business than skills development, and how a simple morning routine he created changed everything about his approach to goal-setting and prioritizing. Not only will Nick share with us the exact morning routine strategy he used, he will also be outlining for us the three major types of distractions that can throw you off your game – and how to avoid them!

Welcome back to the Raise Your Frequency Podcast. Have you ever had an idea for a business or a venture that you’re excited about, but for some reason, you haven’t yet taken action on it, or you haven’t fully committed to it? Or maybe as you listen to this episode, you’re actually holding on to an idea that you haven’t given yourself permission to explore yet.
Take this podcast for example. This podcast was something I’d been wanting to create for a really long time, and though I dabbled with the idea and started planning for it, it took me almost two years to actually give myself the permission (in other words, the head space and time) to actually do it. Why is that?
Could it be that deep down you're not sure how it's going to be received, what others will think, whether they'll like it, hate it, whether you're ready to put yourself out there (AGAIN, or maybe for the first time?)? All these feelings are totally valid and completely normal, and the good news is that they don't last forever. UNLESS you let them. Much of what needs to be done as entrepreneurs are the things that SCARE us, that make us wanna hurl, or that are simply out of our comfort zone. You know, that classic saying that everything great lies outside of our comfort zone. But why is it that we KNOW this, yet we often fail to do anything about it? It might be because we have to learn to just “get over our damn selves”! And that is exactly the title of the best-selling book we’re going to hear about today from author Romi Neustadt.
“Get Over Your Damn Self, The No-BS Blueprint to Building a Life-Changing Business” is a must-read book no matter what type of entrepreneur you are, or what kind of business you’re in. Romi calls herself a former corporate chick who was first a lawyer and then a PR executive. Fed up of the billable hour, she left that behind and found huge success through a career in network marketing. In less than three years, she built a 7-figure business with her husband. Her book has consistently ranked #1 on several Amazon lists since its release in 2016. Romi cuts through the BS and tells us like it is, and that’s why I’m THRILLED to be bringing her wisdom and experience to the podcast today.
In this episode, we learn about why women in business sometimes hold themselves back from truly succeeding. Romi gives us some of her best tips for avoiding the pitfalls that derive from working from home or how to get a non-supportive spouse on board. She even gets us to realize how valuable our time really is, and how to fiercely protect your time.
Finally, Romi tells us like it is, and gets us to understand how fear truly limits our potential.

Mindfulness seems to be having a ‘moment’ recently, but why? What does it mean to be mindful, and how does it apply to entrepreneurs in our fast-paced environments? Can we really become more mindful in just 10 minutes a day? Yes, we can! It’s all thanks to today’s guest, Dr. Patrizia Collard, a best-selling author and psychotherapist living and working in the UK. Dr. Collard is the author of “The Little Book of Mindfulness: 10 Minutes a day to Less Stress, More Peace”, a book that has sold almost a million copies on Amazon.
In today’s episode, Dr. Collard helps us to define what mindfulness is, why it’s important for our brain functions, and how it can help you in your personal life and in business! Dr. Collard is renowned for her coaching and training organizations, groups and individuals, particularly in the context of coping with and reducing anxiety.

Do you ever wonder if you can be spiritual while still spending most of your time in a fast-paced entrepreneurial space? Is there even a place for spirituality in the business world? Can we separate spirituality from religion in 2018? How has the definition of spirituality changed over time?
To help us answer these questions, in today’s episode we chat with Dr. Domenic Ruso, the founder and lead pastor of The One Eighty Church, located just North of Montreal, Canada. Dr. Ruso has a Master’s Degree in Religion and a PhD in Historical Theology.
Dr. Ruso helps us to define spirituality for ourselves and shows us how incorporating some form of personal and community spirituality into your workplace can actually bring your business to the next level. Dr. Ruso demonstrates through his story of founding The One Eighty Church that much like any other start-up, even the most motivated among us can still find ourselves questioning our true purpose on earth, and whether we’re making the right decisions on a daily basis.
