On my birthday, August 4th, the native tribe of the San Francisco Bay Area, the Muwekma Ohlone people embarked on a journey of justice to gain Federal Recognition of their tribe as first nations people. I had a chance to interview the tribal Chairwoman Charlene Nijmeh a few days before they took off on their journey across the US from San Francisco to Washington DC on HORSEBACK! I was honored to gather with them in Solidarity for their spring ceremony but I did not expect to be shutting down the golden gate bridge with a protest.

Javiera Estrada is a Los Angeles based artist who has been well known for her photography and collage art but her new inspiration was sparked by the fashion industry's toll on the environment and her natural ability to think creatively!
METAL RAT- is Javiera's new line of upcyled one of a kind-hand painted vintage jackets and accessories that have caught Bohypsian's eye.
This interview with Javiera will spark your own creative urges and give you a sense of possibility and FUN!
I am honored to introduce my Maddox Haberdasher, my founding partner in the Juneteenth Coalition, a new team of activists on the Monterey Peninsula who formed out of natural synergy to celebrate and uplift black lives and issues in an effort to create equity for the descendants of slaves in our community and beyond . Maddox and I speak about the initial idea which came after the murder of George Floyed in the midst of a rising Black Lives Matter movement in America and an unprecedented pandemic in the modern world.
Our history together as co-hosts of events in the community come up in story as well as our intentions and visions for a growing celebration of blackness in the heart of privilege.
