Who says short stories are just for children? Andrew Segal, an amazing indie author proves that short stories can be just as enticing as a novel to a more mature reader, by exploring themes like romance, travel and crime thrillers in his stories.

The way Andrew portrays his skill-fully written, atmospheric detail creates tension and drama which I could really feel from listening to him today, the perfectly timed pauses and character voices really bring the stories to life.

It was really interesting to ask Andrew about the inspiration he gets for his stories and fascinating to learn that most of his stories come out of the blue! Everyday life can be the building blocks to an amazing story, you just need to tap into your creative side to see it unfold!

Andrew Segal Short Story number 1 in a series of 3

The thing I love about Andrew Segal is the segment of truth that he puts his own special twist on to become an original story. What I also love is his ability to get into character as he tells the story. He smiles as he finishes. Which bit was real and which piece was fantasy???

We asked Andrew to read 3 of his 40 written stories, these were gentle musings compared to the blood and guts and murder and intrigue in other stories. His latest book on sale through Amazon called ‘I am a Gigolo’ well, that’s another story style again. Such an interesting man. Will he base a story on any of us today, in his future writings? We may never know! Author Andrew Segal

Let’s not neglect the fact our country, counties and towns are dealing with some dark, uncertainty times at present... But from spending some time recently in and amongst Farnborough’s local high streets and indie businesses, I realised the importance of our community and locally run businesses, which at the moment are working harder than ever to get back on their feet again after such a tough time.

In the North Camp area, in particular, highlights for us would, of course, be, Wild Wild Western Wear with their stunning range of authentic western gear to fulfil your cowboy fantasies, Woods Butchers who are busy providing high-quality meats for those summer evenings! And of course, Madam Seamstress who delivers a personal and reliable service to her clients who are guaranteed to fall in love with their tailored garment.

I am proud to know there are many amazing business owners who love, care and respect the situation and responsibilities at this time. We will see light and clarity if we pull together and be proud of where we come from.

A return catches up with Reverend Mike Thomasson and Charles Barbor, The Power of Community in Surrey Heath is immense.

You only have to look at SURREY HEATH PREPARED.

Reverend Mike and a group of Rotarians immediately spotted how frightening COVID 19 could be within the community and set about, in record timing a hub of volunteers.

Thousands of calls were taken and food and medicine distributed were needed for those who feared to leave their houses due to medical conditions and age. We were truly blessed as this immediately became the heart of operations with some members including Reverend Mike having no time off for weeks, keeping on full alert to care for the needy.

Along the journey, Surrey Heath Borough Council came onboard with fantastic help and care help organised through the borough council from their own office and staff were deployed who also did long hours and amazing work.

THANK YOU Surrey Heath Rotary, Borough Council and a huge shout out to our much loved Reverend Mike!
