Welcome to the Turnaround Talk Show &Podcast
Each week we will discuss different topics on health and wellbeing and how we can make the most of this precious life we’ve got.
In this show me and my guests will have fascinating conversations on how to use adversity as a springboard to create a thriving live
In this episode I spoke with Karinna Forlenza about how women can break the glass ceilings to ascend in their corporate careers. We discussed what are the glass ceilings that women need to break to progress in their corporate careers, why a good work doesn't speak for itself, what are the gender differences in the workplace and how to give visibility to your work.
Karinna is a seasoned business and corporate career mentor helping women who want to break the glass ceiling and ascend faster to advanced leadership positions in corporate careers. Karinna is a gender intelligence coach, an author and a TEDx and an international speaker who shared the stage with John Gray.

This Episode is relevant to anyone who has acquired a serious chronic injury or a physical disability as a result of a serious car crash or work accident and who has stopped dreaming about the future and instead allowed the trauma to define who they are and limit their aspirations.
In this episode Marcia talks to Gary Farrow who shares the shifts in perspective that were necessary for him to embrace who he became after suffering serious traumatic injuries in a car crash. He shares how he only recognised he needed to embrace growth and receive emotional and psychological support many years after the accident and how he overcame all his limitations to go from living with his parents and receiving welfare payments to moving to another city, living independently, embracing a full time role as a journalist and meeting his fiance.

In this episode I spoke to Susan about the transformation that she has experienced after being forced to quit drinking. Susan was quite used to drinking a full bottle of Rose every second or third day after school pick-up and whilst she was fighting a serious bacteria in her gut, she quit drinking to find out that she had forgotten who she really was. We talked about the impact of regular drinking to our health and vitality, how alcohol is used to numb feelings and that large quantities can quite often be seen as the socially accepted amount of alcohol in Australia. We also talked about the challenges in quitting or reducing alcohol consumption.

In this episode I spoke to Melilssa about how trauma is stored in our bodies and why we need to release trauma from our bodies, as opposed to using talk therapy, in order to find safety again and make space for new possibilities. Melissa explains why talk therapy can actually worsen the symptoms of trauma, how it affects our ability to connect with our intuition and perceive threat, and how we tend to recreate situations that reenact trauma until such time we learn to process using the felt sense through the body and the somatic experience. We talked about how to identify unsafe people that can potentially create more relational trauma in our life and more. This Episode is relevant to anyone who had experienced (or suspects to have) relational trauma and other types of trauma and want to understand how to heal it using the body to free up energy to create expansion and new possibilities.
