Roadmap to Adventure Series
Have you or are you considering traveling or perhaps moving abroad? With the COVID-19 pandemic you might feel a bit frustrated or even that these dreams are no longer an option for you. Certainly, Coronavirus changes things; however, it is important to recognize that this pandemic and the challenges it poses to traveling and moving abroad are only temporary. If this is your dream, it absolutely makes sense to start thinking and planning ahead now.
What you are about to hear is my new series called Roadmap to Adventure, that is intended to help you do just that.
Episode Synopsis
There was no turning back for Christine Samuel, who set out for a new life in Canada in 1998. She shares how she dealt with the uncertainty and loneliness, and stayed strong even when she had less than $5 in her bank account. Christine tells how her commitment and resourcefulness led to her successful immigration and deep personal growth that makes her who she is today.
Bio
Christine Samuel is the founder of Inner Work Matters, a wellbeing coach and mindfulness facilitator. She specializes in helping highly driven women in their unique path to fulfillment to step into calm, inner balance, deep mental clarity, and purposeful actions.
Christine was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia. She got the urge to move abroad at the age of 18 and finally moved alone, leaving her family behind at the age of 26. Since then, Christine has lived in Toronto, Canada. Through it all, she has learned you need to be willing to let go of attachment to certainty to have a deeper and more profound experience of life. As German psychologist, Erich Fromm said: “Uncertainty is the very condition to impel man to unfold his powers.”

"An international move is like a marathon."
Amandine Souhami, who has lived in China, Brazil, Great Britain, Switzerland, and Morocco so far, shared this insight with me during our conversation. Recognizing this up front is important, but don't let that scare you away! If you truly want to move abroad, then listening to this episode, which is jam-packed with practical tips, will help you think things through.
Remember that idea you had but never followed through on? Perhaps you wanted to learn the piano, write your memoir, or hire someone to help you with your business. Whatever happened to that?
Sometimes life gets in the way. Sometimes we settle because it seems easier. Sometimes we forget why doing something is so important to us. Whatever the reason, this concept will help reignite the passion behind the ideas you once had and still would like to accomplish. It helped motivate me to do what was necessary to buy a car in France.
