Here are the steps laid out in the track on how to make a mini habit.

  1. State the goal using one of the following verbs. Get, build, create, or become. For example, get a hot tub, build a business, create a new method for tying your shoes, become a pop star.

  2. Pull up the image of your life goal in your mind. Get a clear view of what it looks like, what you look like with it achieved. Force yourself to visualize the details for a few minutes. Steep yourself in it.

  3. Answer this question: What do you love about this goal? What are the most important features of it, necessary to consider it achieved? Like if you didn't have these pieces, it would not be complete.

  4. Rewrite the 3 most essential of those essential features, as concisely as possible, in 1-3 words each. Get these right for yourself. They are the essences you want to bring into your life right away and keep in your life every day from today on. If you do, you'll achieve your goal, or even better ones.

  5. Think of a big habit that, if you did it every day, those goal essences would be fully integrated into your life. Remember, if they are in your life every day, you'll achieve your goals. What habit would bring one or more of them fully into your life? Write that habit down.

  6. Take the habit and shrink it down so that it's so small it sounds like barely doing anything at all, a mere shadow of the big habit. Consider yourself on your very worst day, in which you feel like you have no energy, no patience, no friends, no Aliveness. On that day, you should still be able to do the mini habit. Write down your mini habit.

  7. Commit to doing the habit every day. On days when you happen to have energy, having done this tiny habit, you'll do more of it easily. On your worst days, you'll be grateful that you just have to do the mini version. Doing it every day will slowly but definitely begin to change the fabric of your life. You will be moving inexorably toward your big life goals and it won't be difficult.

  8. Choose a tracking system for your mini habit. Make sure you do it every day. Use a calendar app of some kind that reminds you every day, and you can check it off as done, or use a physical calendar and Mark each day with an X at the end of the day if you've completed your mini habit.
