The Eight of Swords fell out of my hands the other day. I really hate this card. In this deck, it is a woman bound by cloth, blindfolded and surrounded by swords.

It reminded me that I was stuck in my pain. Likely true given that I have lost my two important people so close together. It was a reminder that I have been meandering through my life over the last 8 weeks feeling muted and unclear of my path ahead. Its is the visual representation of being bound by pain with the inability to navigate my way out. It's feeling hopeless, hapless and helpless. Sometimes I really dislike spirt.

Then the 8 of swords is also a call for for me (us) to sit in and not run from what's causing the pain. Time to embrace the fear and pain of the unknown and acknowledge that this is a brief moment in time. It will pass as all other things do. Even as we sit here, things have shifted if ever so slightly.

Give your self grace, allow yourself to feel what it is that you are feeling, acknowledge what's keeping you stuck and face it head on.

That is when the healing starts and the freedom of self begins.

Love you.

This was in my drafts from the end of last year, and it was too good to leave alone. Unedited, unfiltered.

These themes keep coming up to do what we need to do. I mean really DO the things that we are supposed to do.

This ties in to the second episode so I am going with it.

So when your soul remembers, its time to move..

Love you!

Season 4 Episode 3

March 21st was the first day of Aries season marking the energetic New Year. This is the time when things start moving for us making it the perfect time to start creating what you want to bring into your life.

In this episode, I talk about need to surrender, release and accept in to allow new and exciting changes into our lives. It is one of the best times for clearing out our emotional and physical clutter which brings us clarity and strength to move forward.

I also pulled some cards in this episode and discuss the meanings behind the Ace of Wands, 5 of wands reversed and Justice reversed as we move into the next cycle of change.

So meditate on what you want, grab your journal and hold on because the next little while is going to be an interesting journey into the next chapter of your lives.

Did you know that Pisces is the last sign of the Zodiac?   I only recently just realized this, along with the understanding that our movement into Pisces means the end of the old and the beginning of the new.  New cycles, new thoughts and behaviours, beginnings.  Sounds easy right?  Nope.  It means the release surrender and acceptance of what is.  It means letting go and trusting the process of the unknown.

It is not always easy to do and in this episode, I share techniques to help you ground and centre; including journaling, the use of mantras and mediation.

The unknown may be scary, but it can be beautiful when we open our heart, listen to what our soul needs and trust the process.

Love you!!

Season 4 : Episode 1

Have you ever wondered why you are stuck in a loop and unable to move forward?  Consider that there may be some energetic anchors that are preventing you from moving forward.   They are internal and external thought processes and behaviours that keep us anchored to our present state, preventing us from progressing.

In this episode, I discuss the why of those anchors, where they come from and how we can work to release ourselves of them.

Season 3, Episode 4

I recorded this episode some months ago and then it sat in my drafts and while the date has passed, the message is still relevant.   We often look outward to have our problems solved and our traumas healed.  While it is great to have help and someone to guide us, nine times out of ten, we have the answer inside us and we just require a nudge in the right direction.

In this episode, I share my experience with a client who had called and wanted a distance healing done.  I was happy to do so, but this client was in one of the most energetically magical places on earth and was unable to connect.  It happens often when we are blocked or stuck and the challenging part of that is not knowing where the block is coming from.  In many cases, it is not trusting that you are the are the answer and that it has always been you!

September is the time of harvest; the energetic New Year. A time of reflection, retreat and rejuvenation. Bringing in what you want takes trust and the ability to release. Take time to figure out what you want bybgounding and connecting to yourself. I talk about how journaling, sound therapy, meditation and some other techniques can help bring you back to centre and help you connect to your vision of what you want to accomplish. 💜

Season 3, Episode 2

Why loving someone who doesn't love themselves is so hard. This is the episode this week on Your Intuitive Heart Podcast.

All of us have either been in the position of loving someone who can't love or we have been the one who couldn't love because they/we couldn't love themselves/ourselves.. In order to love fully we have to heal what ever has hurt us in the past, step into the dark and acknowledge what's there. If we don't do that, we have no chance of finding and holding on to love.

What are we sacrificing when we stay in relationships where the other cannot love themselves? Sometimes we have to let go of this relationship to preserve our body mind and spirit.

I want you to Know that it is not your fault and that you are worthy of love and happiness. It just may be that this relationship can’t provide that for you right now.

Don’t dim your light to satisfy the dreams wants of others. Love you!

Season 3:Episode 1

Spiritual Fight or Flight: The act of running from what spirit is guiding you to do. We fight what we are called to do, and/or we run from it. Sometimes it takes some time to get to that point when our spiritual body and physical bodies are aligned to step into the next chapter, but when we do finally step into whatever we are called to do, we will find brings peace of mind and spirit  instead of anxiety and restlessness.

Season 2, Episode 8: Understanding Shadow work with Kori Woo.

This week I speak with Kori Woo, Astrologer, Tarot Card reader and fiction enthusiast about doing shadow work.

The idea of shadow work was popularized by psychiatrist Carl Jung who defined the "shadow self" as being the pieces of self that we learned to suppress as children because they were considered to be undesirable. (Russell, 2021)That shadow self stays with us unless resolved or acknowledged as untrue; so how can we do that on a daily basis? How does one do shadow work?

Listen as Kori and I talk about what shadow work means and how one can use astrology, tarot, journaling, crystals and even storytelling to access, acknowledge and understand the shadow self.

We discuss author Joseph Campbell who wrote The Power of Myth – (not As a Man Thinketh noted in podcast) helped her find self, and the magic of crystals in helping us ground and find answers for our questions of shadow.

Where to find her:

Correction: In the discussion author Joseph Campbell is incorrectly credited for writing “As a Man Thinkenth” when it was author James Allen who wrote the book with the belief that everyone holds the belief to every condition that enters their lives.

Setting boundaries is another aspect of self maintenance that many of us choose not to embrace.  Is it because we are worried about disappointing others? Is it the fear of losing out on an opportunity or gig?

Setting boundaries is seen as selfish but in real life it is necessary for not only our self maintenance and well being but for those in the world around us.

In this episode I discuss the importance of setting boundaries as way of setting ourselves free by setting goals to get there.

Season 2: Episode 6 The process of spiritual growth is exciting and sometimes overwhelming and may require that we seek outside guidance along our path. There may be times in along that journey that we come across individuals who may not be as advertised; those who may have less altruistic motives In this episode my IG gal pal Shelby shares her painful experience of being temporarily blindsided by a similar group of people who were not who they claimed to be. They were a cult and they almost managed to get the best of her body, mind and spirit. We discuss: What it looks like to be groomed by an individual or a group  Trusting the "something is not right vibe" How to clear yourself of that energy  Allowing yourself to heal after the trauma These days Shelby continues to heal and as she continues to be a badass teacher, mentor and coach to her clients \nd so many others; present company included.    I am both  grateful and honoured that she shared one of her most vulnerable times with us.    How to find Shelby Follow her :@xo.shelbyrose Work with her: shelbyrose.com Listen to her :Raise your Vibration with Shelby Rose

How does trust allow for growth?  How do we get over imposter syndrome?   Growth into the new is often challenging because it usually means that we have to release suppressive thought processes and trust that the end game is in sight.   This episode is an excerpt from a reading that I did with my lovely client Lesia who I have counseled in the past.  She was encouraged to release her fear of moving forward, the importance of using her ancestral gifts, the importance of clearing out the shite that doesn’t belong to her, paying attention to and trusting the messages from the Creator that confirm her path. I also remind her that it is her lived experience that gives her the ability to teach and support others, not just books and courses.   Find her @inspiredbyhealing if you have questions or just want to say thanks!

Meet Genevieve, my 17 year old daughter an amazing young woman of many talents and accomplishments.  She is the second oldest of six kids and she is the only girl in the group. She also sees spirit.   Today I am speaking with her about what it was like growing up with the ability to see spirit and what was helpful for her to feel safe sharing her experiences with me and her Dad. Raising children is tough but add in the fact that your kid is a gifted intuitive?? This can be a challenging thing for some parents, especially if they are not as in tune as their kids are.  What do you say when your child approaches you about seeing a spirit? How can you best support them?  Gigi and I talk about these things and more on this week's episode.  Should you or your kids have any questions for her about her experiences, you can reach out to us on Instagram @wavyy_g @jo_ann_alfred or email me at info@jo-annalfred.com

It is important to practice gratitude, but can we do it in the present climate of a pandemic, civil unrest and overall uncertainty? Hell yes.  In fact, it is necessary.  In this episode I talk about how practicing gratitude daily even in the midst of chaos and disorder to bring calm and peace of mind.  It is the law of attraction working at full tilt peeps, bringing abundance and joy leaving no room for bitterness, sadness or pain.

It is a new year, you should feel new and refreshed right??  Not so much.

With the new year comes the hope for renewal and rebirth and here we are three weeks in and nothing feels different.  Why is that?

In another impromptu car rant, I discuss why you don't feel things changing like you had hoped and what you can do to relieve the anxiety you feel about things not changing.  I also talk about why it is is important to sit with things and not to force change.

Things are shifting, it will just take some time.

Love you

We talk about the importance of energetic protection on a daily basis, building foundations, trusting spirit, how confirmation from spirit could present in the body like and moving forward through your doubt and the doubt of others.

This episode was an impromptu recording on the way home from doing readings in Orillia.  A theme emerged of living the dream of others and not our own, and why many of us do it. Sarah is a Registered Nurse and mom of 3 year old Anna Grace, who left hospital life to pursue a new career as a certified Gentle Sleep Coach. She was looking for some guidance and clarification about her business. It later morphed into a coaching session of sorts.

Her reading focused on how she was sabotaging herself and her business, her struggles with knowing her self worth, fear, lack of trust and negative self talk; things that we all struggle with at some points in our lives. We also talked about healing her inner child, manifesting with the full moon, and overcoming her fear. While it was a great session , it tired her out a bit. The information sometimes knocks us out a bit before we are able to fully process it. In the end the goal is for her to find her power, peace, truth and love.
