Are you struggling with putting outfits together for different occasions? You want to look good and feel confident in your clothes but struggle with time to even go shopping? Are you frustrated with buying pieces you love and then not know what to pair it with in your closet? The Founder of The Stīl Trust has a solution for you!

The Stīl Trust began as the brainchild of Asbasia Mikhail, The Stīl Trust’s Founder and CEO. After wearing a school uniform for the first 18 years of her life, Asbasia never had to worry about choosing an outfit. After high school and into her professional years, Asbasia found it more and more difficult to find a complete look that fit her personal style, especially after becoming a mother. With a growing number of responsibilities to juggle, she often didn’t have the luxury of time to shop for herself.

After running into this problem time and time again, she came up with the idea of a service where people could ask an expert online for fashion advice. Fast-forward ten years, and that idea has blossomed into The Stīl Trust, an online service for busy, style-minded women and men to easily access fast and expert styling advice tailored to their personal tastes.

"As a style-minded individual, I’ve always wanted to look my best. However, as a busy mom and ER physician, I was challenged with time and a post baby-figure, and I consistently struggled with figuring out what to wear. I was certain I was not the only one facing this issue, a realization that compelled me to create The Stīl Trust."

More on Asbasia Mikhail:
Asbasia Mikhail is an Emergency Physician from Los Angeles, CA. She has been practicing Emergency Medicine for 25 years. Despite her background in medicine, she has always held a passion for personal style and the fashion industry. She began her entrepreneurial journey 5 years ago with an idea for a styling service she conceived of over 10 years prior.

For the first time, aside from my husband interviewing me, I had a male guest on the show. I had the honor of sitting down and diving deep with the author and poet of Time & Knots, Taran Singh. Each poem was thoughtfully and beautifully written to give you perspective on time, to give you perspective on life.

In this episode Taran takes us on a journey of how he came to write Time & Knots and his interpretation of his favorite poem and my interpretation of my own favorite poem from his book. Taran shares his wisdom and deep reflection of time. His poems are a reflection of our vulnerabilities.

"Change is inherently part of acceptance. When you accept anything you are virtually present in that moment."

"Create reflection points as part of our life not just creating time for it."

Click the website link below and get a signed copy of Time & Knots from Taran Singh. His book is also available on Amazon and Audible.

Understanding your archetypes and how to use language will help you to bring out and enhance your power to influence, to persuade, to negotiate. Each person is born with an overall archetype, but there are many layers of archetypes within us when it comes to passions and hobbies, inner shadows, within a relationship and when we transgress. Archetypal psychology allows you to reason, act and behave using outside elements.

In this episode Claudia Monacelli (a published author, professor, international liaison officer, sociolinguistics and archetypal psychologists) apply her studies on me. Quite fascinating what I learned about my archetypes!

Show Notes:

  • 3:04 It’s about your thinking patterns, your attitude, the way you speak, and power is your stance in relation to who you are speaking to.
  • 18:15 Overall archetype when we are born
  • 30:32 Archetype in a relationship
  • 40:05 It’s not that we (women) need to be empowered, we are so powerful. It’s women finding their voices.

In this episode we uncover many layers, the many layers that I needed to dig deeper into because I feel like my life is out of balance in time, energy, and space. Ana Merced, Empowered by Self Love coach, gives me a mini coaching session. She applied her very own Empowered by Self Love program on me. If you haven’t checked out the last episode (Part 1), she gave a great overview of her program, breaking down the pillars of the program.

I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous for this episode. It is definitely an episode of vulnerability, and aha moments for me. Ana will call you out on your BS and you will witness that she did just that with me.

  • You are an entrepreneur feeling that everything is urgent and you are the bottleneck if things don't move.
  • If you struggle to make time for yourself and your life feels completely out of balance.
  • If you tend to put others first before yourself.

See how Ana helped me navigate through to understand what I was feeling, honor my yin and yang and understand what I need to do to reset.

Ana is all about being authentic, she goes above and beyond supporting her clients to connect to the highest version of themselves. She offers a complimentary 40 minute session and I would take her up on it! You can schedule that complimentary session with her on her website at anamerced.com.

The pandemic has created a "shecession," so many women, mothers and single mothers had to make sacrifices, lost their jobs and are finding their way again. I hope this episode will encourage whoever is listening out there to keep fighting, that this is only temporary, to reach out for help and support.

In this episode I interview a power house and friend of mine Elaine Tran about her story of coming to America, being a mom at a young age, the struggles that she went through and what it took to build the success she has today. Today she has her very own insurance firm, real estate investment company and vacation rental, but it took grit and resilience.
Highlights/Quotes:

  • Giving up was not an option
  • Be aware of the opportunities around you, speak up for what you are looking for or need
  • Everything is temporary good and bad

Honored to be a guest on the Bright Life Podcast with Jessica Johnson. Great questions and a great conversation on the messy middle of being an entrepreneur. Check out the episode!

“The entrepreneurial journey can be harder, longer, and more trying than you ever expect. How do you keep your motivation high when you're in the building stage—not the everything-has-worked-out stage?

Diana left the corporate world three years ago to take on the challenge of reinventing a woman's blazer. She shares about navigating curveballs (there's nothing quite like a pandemic hitting while you're building an office-wear fashion brand), moving the finance industry to the fashion industry, and fine-tuning hundreds of iterations, fittings, and fabric swatches in pursuit of the perfect blazer.

Hear how she handles setbacks, trusts the timing of her journey, and keeps purpose front and center through it all.”

This too shall pass...

On the last episode of 2020 I share with you a story that was a reminder to me that what we are going through is temporary, this too shall pass as with all bad things and good things. I share my thoughts on what 20/20 vision really meant as I reflect back on this year and how we can take what we learned from 2020 to shape our story going forward. Take what 2020 has presented us and turn it into an opportunity to come out of this better and stronger. Have you taken time to reflect?

2020 was a year that forced us to face our biggest fears, doubts and insecurities. There really was nowhere to hide. However, it’s important to reflect on how we dealt with it. What did we learn? How did we grow?

Before every change, before each breakthrough are growing pains, like a butterfly. Before the caterpillar becomes this beautiful, vibrant butterfly, it is alone in it’s cocoon transforming. Maybe 2020 was your cocoon period, no where to go, but grow.

I’ll be asking these questions to reflect on my own story, but invite you to do the same. What does 2021 look like for you? What goals are you setting?

In order to help you, I have also developed a 2020 Reflection template and a 2021 Goals template for you to download and complete off of our social media.

Happiness. We all want to be happy, but do we know what it really means? What is happiness and what does it really take to achieve it? What is your definition of happiness?

In today’s society, we often place our happiness on the worth of materialistic things or achievements: the new car, the great career, a promotion, the perfect body.

But true happiness comes from within. We should never feel like we have to chase happiness, because it is within us. Truly knowing yourself on a soul level, speaking your truth, knowing your values, what you stand for, feeling gratitude for your life and the joy of being alive are all things we can think about in our quest for happiness.

On this week’s podcast, I explore this with Irina Melkumyan, breathwork facilitator and coach. We talk about how to discover this happiness that has always been inside of us, and why so many people find it so hard to do so. Irina believes that humans all have a few simple emotional needs, and that is to feel loved, valued and noticed. Using breathwork as a tool, Irina has made it her mission to create a safe space for people to go on a journey guided by their own breath and find the answers within themselves while feeling loved and noticed.
**"As long as you define happiness outside of you, you will not be happy."

"Comparing yourself to others dilutes your happiness."

"The beauty is in the journey, not the destination, it's in the becoming."**

More about Irina Melkumyan:

Irina has spent years studying the human mind, awareness and the power of breath. Today Irina practices breathwork every day and devotes her time leading people in groups and one on one journeys through breathwork.

Outside of leading breathworks, Irina also helps entrepreneurs build and grow their businesses. Irina Melkumyan is an Entertainment Banking Relationship Manager working directly with clients to proactively manage and develop their business and personal banking relationships while providing tailored financial advice. She maintains a high level of trust and acts as a consultant to her clients.

Irina is also actively involved in the community. She has been working with St. Baldrick’s Foundation since 2014, using her voice and skills to help raise money and awareness for children with cancer. She is also the Board Chair for the Young Women’s Commission for the SoCal Women’s Conference, she uses her time and energy to educate, mentor, and inspire young entrepreneurs to achieve their goals and dreams authentically.

Self love is easier said than done. Self love is an act of awareness of yourself, who you are, your values, it's honoring yourself and your self worth. In this episode Brooke Watt and I have an in depth conversation about what is self love, the journey to self love and what the difference is between self love, self care and being selfish. Do you know?

Brooke's approach to business and life is driven by compassion, grounded in empathy, and rooted in respect for self and all beings. One of the many things I admire about Brooke is that her actions show that she honors herself and loves herself. It is not an easy journey to get to a place of self love, wiping the slate clean and discovering who you really are. Join us as we also discuss steps to take towards self love.

"Self care is icing on the cake, self love takes work, it's mixing the ingredients, it's messy and it takes patience."
"**The only true awakening to self love is to acknowledge own and love all parts of yourself. The path to wholeness. Path to self love."

"How I feel matters."
Brooke Watt Bio:**
“As a Creative Strategist I help brands transform their culture, in real and meaningful ways, that permeate people, product and process.”

Brooke December-Watt was born in Evanston, Illinois, grew up in California and Seattle, and have lived in New York and Hong Kong. She is currently the Senior Director of Global Merchandising for Men’s Apparel and Accessories at VansVF with 15 years of experience shaping brand, product, and people for global organizations such as Marc Jacobs International, AG Jeans, Centric Brands, and most recently Vans a VF company.

She has been recognized for driving brand visibility, innovation and growth on a global scale.

Many of you have asked what my story is and my journey that led to Madison / Savile. In this episode I'm on the other side as my husband, Adam Fallert, interviews me about my journey from childhood, to leaving home, putting myself through college and discovering my purpose. You'll get the lows, the highs and the in betweens. It's just the beginning of this journey as I build Madison / Savile and bring it to life, but hopefully you'll get to know more of me, where I'm from, who I am and the why behind Madison / Savile.

"Be patient with yourself in discovering your purpose."

"Your WHY is your north star."

"Being an entrepreneur is having an idea, a vision, a passion that you are bringing to life to share with the world."

Many of us have dealt with death in our lives or are dealing with it as we speak, especially as we get older we face the reality of our loved ones getting older and not having much time left with us. I thought this topic was important to talk about especially with the year that we have had of losing so many due to COVID, violence, and the natural disasters of the world. I invited my dear friend Samantha Denning, who has her own practice as a coach, mediator and facilitator, to share her own and very personal experience of losing her mother at a young age due to cancer, losing both grandparents, but most recently her grandfather. How do we cope, how do we grieve, how do we heal or even allow ourselves to heal in a healthy way with so much going on?

Some favorite messages of mine during this episode:

“Anchoring in those special moments…”

“Give yourself permission to disconnect.”

“Honoring for yourself what is true in each moment.”

“Accepting that they are gone.”

“Managing and honoring your capacity.”

“Move away from putting boundaries on your feelings.”

“Stop Shoulding Yourself!”

If you have lost a loved one, are grieving or just having a tough time and just need some help and guidance, or maybe have questions, Samantha and I are available via the Madison / Savile Insider FaceBook Group or send us a message on Madison / Savile IG, Facebook or website. Links are below.

Samantha Denning's Bio:

Samantha believes that the quality of our interactions and relationships dictates the quality of our lives, and this is the foundation of her passion and life's work: helping people improve the quality of their lives and building more productive and connected relationships. As a professional coach, mediator, and facilitator, Samantha provides customized support and solutions to a wide range of diverse and influential individuals and families, to successfully navigate complex challenges and circumstances (both personal & professional), while increasing their capacity to lead with greater impact and influence.

“You can count on me to support you and always bring a positive attitude and a fresh perspective to any situation. My dynamic blend of experiences, expertise, and credentials allows me to leverage a variety of techniques to confidently navigate and facilitate any situation. I believe everything is workable and with the right people by your side, you can adapt quickly, thrive in changing environments, and accelerate your capacity to lead with greater impact and influence."

Giving back and creating impact are hallmarks for her life and as such, she has established global philanthropic initiatives with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, the Special Olympics, and the Peace Corps. Samantha encourages people to: “Be Kind and Stay Curious.”

For my very first episode I reached out to my friend Tara McCann to share her story as I think her story will help someone out there that is finding her way. In this episode we have an open conversation about her life, how she paved her own way through all of life's struggles beginning with her rough child hood with both her mother and father in and out of jail for fraud, drugs and alcohol, feeling like she didn't belong, to ending a relationship with someone she truly loved.

Learn of the pivotal moments that guided her, how she listened to her heart along the way to find her way. Tara is now a successful senior marketing manager living in New York. If you meet her now, you would have never known of the struggles and the pain she went through. Her mindset, her laugh, her confidence and the joy that exudes from her would tell you otherwise...that she paved her own way.

A conversation between friends packed with messages of vulnerability, internal strength, sitting with your feelings, being real with yourself.

**"You never know how strong you are, until being strong is the only choice you have."

"Choosing to love yourself not in spite of the pain you are going through, you are choosing to love yourself because of the pain that you went through."

"Being real takes looking at the hard stuff."**

A Little More About Tara McCann:
Tara was born and grew up in Washington. She graduated from the University of Washington with a major in business marketing and entrepreneurship and now working in New York as a Senior Marketing Manager in startup initiatives.
