The arrival of Jesus in the womb of Mary was a turning point for her, Israel, and all of mankind. When He arrives, everything changes, and nothing will ever be the same again. The Pastor's jumped into the heart of the season with part 3 of our series on Advent that walks through the darkness-shattering moment of His arrival that fills us with hope for when He will come again. What a sweet reminder that we all desperately need!
The way we live our lives should be a message to the world to get ready, because the King is coming. As we continue to walk through the season of Advent, we look to the life, death, and ministry of John the Baptist as an amazing example of someone who prepared the way for the Lord. We should look to his journey and to the commands of the Lord to live in such a way that announces to everyone we encounter to repent and be ready for the King to come!
What you anticipate will change the way you live your life! This week the pastor's jumped into the season of Advent, which is a sweet opportunity for followers of Jesus to stop and give thanks for the coming of Christ in the manger, but also to stop and purposefully set our eyes on the second coming of Jesus!
Jesus prays something powerful in John 17. He asks the Father that we would be one just like he and the Father were one. Unity within the body of Christ is monumentally important and seems to be lacking in this age. How do we go about unity in the local church, and in the big "C" church? The pastors tackle unity this week and talk through some truths, hinderances, and challenges for us to process.
In this bonus episode, the guys chop it up about an important issue in the church: what does it mean to be a kingdom first people in the midst of a culture wrapped up in the “American dream?” Are the kingdom of God and our national identity at odds? How we react to things has to be gauged on whether it's based in our emotions, or on the truths of the Kingdom. If they are not, there must be humility and repentance.
