Remember that time when we were kids and we were afraid of monsters lurking in the dark?

We thought they'd come out at night and eat us, or that they'd be hiding under the bed waiting to grab our feet as soon as we fell asleep.

And then we grew up…and surprise, surprise! We're still haunted by monsters—but not the type we typically think of when we hear the word "monster."

We're haunted by our own self-doubt. We're haunted by our fear of failure and criticism. We're haunted by impostor syndrome—that feeling like we don't belong where we are because we're not good enough. And when these things happen, it's hard not to let them affect us.

We all have fears—and those fears are real monsters that hide in the dim light of our minds. We can't stop them from coming, but we can learn how to make them go away by shining some light on them!

In this podcast episode, I'll share with you some actionable tips on how to face your fears and how you can move past them so they won't hold you back anymore.

So tune in and listen up: at the end of this episode, I have something exciting for everyone!

"We are a reminder of what Australia wants to erase." - Alicia Jay

While we may be a country that prides itself on being one of the most diverse and accepting nations in the world, Australia still has a lot of work to do when it comes to racism.

In this podcast episode, Alicia Jay shares her lived experience as an indigenous woman and single mother who has experienced racism first-hand.

For those who aren't aware of the statistics regarding Aboriginal people in Australia, you'll be shocked by what you learn from this episode.

Alicia is an incredible woman with so much to say not just about anti-racism but also about other compelling topics like fatphobia and unrealistic beauty standards that affect us, women. She uses her own lived experience to evoke confronting conversations about these topics—and she does it in such a way that I guarantee will make you want to go out there and do something about it!

And she's not afraid to make you uncomfortable with her bluntness when it comes to having these conversations.

There are a lot of reasons why I love this podcast episode with Alicia. For starters, it's a reminder that we all deserve to be heard and seen—especially those who are marginalized in our society. It's also a great reminder that we can always use our voices to make a difference.

We talk about:

  • What it means to be an Aboriginal
  • What led Alicia to run her anti-racism workshops & why it’s important
  • Alicia’s perspective regarding Australia Day
  • Megan’s perspective on speaking out against racism in Australia as a white woman
  • What can we do to be a greater ally of Aboriginal people
  • The changes that Alicia hopes to do within the beauty industry
  • The meaning of being grounded in life
  • Tips on how to manage so many different things at the same time
  • And more!

Learn more about Alicia Jay at @8983aj on Instagram. Alicia also has a 4-week workshop called Deconstructing Australia Day: https://www.aliciajay.co/deconstructing-australia-day-workshop

There are 8 billion people in the world, but no matter how unique you think you are, there is still one thing you have in common with every single person on this planet...

We've all been there: you're on a roll, feeling like things are really going your way, and then…. BAM! Life throws you a curveball and your confidence gets knocked out of the park.

I've been there too. I've had some pretty significant setbacks in my life—things that left me feeling completely lost, hopeless, and even depressed. But I'm here today because I made it through those tough times and learned how to bounce forward after being knocked down by life.

We all have an inner storyteller.

It's the voice that narrates your life and defines what you can or cannot do.

It's the one that tells you that you're not beautiful enough, smart enough, or talented enough.

It's the one that tells you that being anything less than perfect makes you unworthy of love.

But it's also the one that tells you that it's okay to make mistakes because they are part of the learning process.

This inner narrator is powerful: it shapes our reality and guides our actions. This is why it's so important to be aware of the stories we tell ourselves—the ones we're consciously aware of, as well as those lurking in our subconscious—and work on rewriting them in order to achieve our goals and live a happier life.

Just because your story is written, doesn't mean it's set in stone. You have the power to write a new chapter, and even rewrite the entire thing if you need to.

And that's why this episode exists. Because I know what it feels like when you're stuck in an old story that no longer serves you—and I want YOU to feel empowered by the fact that YOU CAN DO ANYTHING!

Are you ready to begin unpacking your stories and transforming your life?

Are you ready to stop torturing yourself for making mistakes?

Are you ready to see things from a different perspective, and feel more confident in yourself and your abilities?

Well then, let's get started!

BUT BEFORE WE DO THAT…

I'll let you in on a secret:

I'm working on a new course, UNSTOPPABLE, and I want you to be the first to know about it.

So don't forget to follow me!

(If you're already following me, thanks! You're a rock star.)

You think being fit is all about dieting and losing weight?

You're wrong.

Getting that fit body is so much more than just dieting and losing weight. It's about feeling good inside—it's about having an inner peace that radiates out to everyone around you.

And when we say "fit," we mean more than just a body that looks good in a swimsuit - we mean being healthy from the inside out. That means healing your trauma, your inner child, and facing the darkness so you can come out as the best version of yourself—the optimal version of yourself!

But let's be real: We all need support on our journeys, especially when we're doing things like facing our inner demons or dealing with trauma from our past.

And that support needs to come from people who get it—people who will stick with you through your journey and make all the difference in helping you become who you're meant to be.

That’s why I’m so thrilled to have Sondra Gatien with us today to talk about her own transformation —and how having a support system like this can change everything for you.

Sondra is a woman who knows what it feels like to be knocked down—by a major car accident, by a failed relationship —and then take herself back up again with the help of amazing women in her life. And now, she guides other women in their health and fitness journey, helping them to break free from traditional health industry extremes and focus more on what matters: their own inherent self-healing powers.

We talk about:

  • What led Sondra to become so passionate about helping women rewrite how they connect to their own bodies and their hearts
  • How having a support system in the form of two amazing coaches helped her become who she is today
  • What really works when it comes to achieving optimal health
  • And so much more!

It’s time to stop ‘should-ing’ all over yourself and break that good girl conditioning!

Do you swing from being the good girl to miss independent or do you like to play in one more than the other? And how is that working out for you?

In todays episode I dive into what it means to be a ‘good girl’ and how you can shift out of this narrative.

How to learn to become the observer and notice without judgement, what the opposite looks like and how BOTH paths can lead to passive aggressive behaviours or resentment within our relationships and in business.

So what story is it that you are continually playing out? Are you getting the results YOU desire or are you feeling frustrated resentful and burnt out?

When we start to look at how WE want things to look and operate it’s amazing how quickly things can change. When we change or morph who we are or how we want to show up in the world to please others instead of being our own authentic selves, we are actually hurting ourselves.

The good girl loves being the martyr and it leads to burn out down the track. The other side is the independent woman and doing everything on our own.

Miss compliant or Miss independent?

“I’m a strong woman I’m independent I don’t need anyone” vs wanting to please everyone and over caring.

Both lead to martyrdom, resentment and burn out, feeling discouraged and lack of results.

Start challenging who you are being and the role your playing and how you want to show up in the world! Find what is true for you and live into that. What’s best for you will always trump anything else.

Who do you desire to be and what do you value?

It’s only when we can take a step back and truly take a look, that we can start to break the cycle.

You get to choose your narrative, find that middle ground and write YOUR story!

If you want to teach something, you must embody it. We can only really empathise with others if we are connected to our own pain and suffering and we earn the lightness so we can share it out in the world.

If you are a highly empathetic person and want to make a difference in the world, if you’re doing meaningful work in the world or consider yourself a changemaker and you really want to create positive change then this episode is for you

What I talk about:

  • my personal goal of running a half marathon and what I made it mean about me. Nothing has meaning except for the meaning we give it.
  • what the training and a hip injury has taught me
  • Comparative suffering. It’s ok to feel the feelings and acknowledge our pain - in fact it’s very important that we don’t.
  • Be willing to be uncomfortable in the messiness of the pain and emotions you’re feeling. Put boundaries around it with others if you need to
  • My thoughts on the dark night of the soul/the messy middle/the rumble

Empathetic people can often diminish what we are going through and it’s too easy to not acknowledge or own pain. Reframing our pain before we sit in it never truly works.

The more we resist what we are feeling the more we push it aside and the more we diminish it then the more it manifests itself in other ways, we become emotionally disconnected (to ourselves and others). and we actually end up suffering more and often feeling resentful.

It becomes counter intuitive - the way to heal our own suffering is to sit in the messiness of it. This then opens up the space so we can ask ourselves powerful questions and gain clarity on why we feel the way we are feeling.

Do you desire to make a positive change in the world?

I’ve spent at least two decades of my life creating positive change and in todays episode I share with you my top tips to actually create that change.

It can sometimes feel isolating and frustrating when we are trying to create that change or reach that goal.

You also don’t need to fit into any box that society places on those that are in service - you CAN create positive change and still want to do all the things and not fit into any particular mould. Doing one thing doesn’t mean that you don’t care about the other thing.

A great example of this is having a successful career or business AND still being present at your child’s important events. They can both be important to you!

Are your desires really yours or someone else’s?

It’s only when we can make the distinction of decision vs desire that things will really shift in our life!

So many women I’ve spoken to live in the state of desire - what do you REALLY want and desire in life?

Trouble arises if we stay in this state as we are still wishing hoping and waiting for that thing and wanting that thing to be ours

Have you decided that what you are desiring is actually yours? Chances are if you are still wanting or desiring it, you’re not moving from desire to decision.

Once you’ve made the decision you start to make different choices and ask different questions like - well if this already mine, then who do I need to be to have that thing?

What small steps do I need to take in order to achieve it?

Make the decision that what you desire is for you, then everything else that is standing in your way of achieving it will disappear.

Are you waiting for all your ducks to be in a row before taking action? To launch that course, do a social media post or get your website up?

You are not alone. There is never going to be a perfect moment to start.

If you’re finding yourself playing safe and sabotaging your results - it’s time to take some awkward action!

Often we think it’s fear of failure that stops us, but more often than not it’s fear of success.

The judgement from others and fear of rejection can be very real!

In this episode I talk about taking some awkward action at a networking event and why I felt nervous to share about my business wins - the tall poppy syndrome kicked in.

The dance between desire and what success means is when the self sabotage and procrastination kicks in and we all have our own success triggers. It’s not the skills and knowledge it’s the story you’re telling yourself about what success means for you and what you’re dream actually is!!

Change happens on an identity level - our identity impacts what we believe, impacts the stories we tell ourselves the habits we create and how we experience life.

That next level of success is there for you to take - and you have what it takes! You’ve just got to back yourself!

If you’re ready to take the next step, truly back yourself and take messy action, enrolment is open for Impact Accelerator Mistressmind (IAM): https://meganjaworksi.com/IAM

Have you ever wondered why some of your competitors are able to attract the clients that you really want and you're not?

I know I did. And I was frustrated. I had a course launch and it failed miserably.

I tried to attract my ideal clients using social media but I could never even reach them. It was like my social media efforts were all for nothing.
I'd post, but I'd get no engagement. No one was interested in what I had to say or how I could help them.

It felt like my posts were just going into the void of the internet and disappearing forever (or at least until someone found them by accident years later).

But then I learned what most business owners don't know about attracting their ideal clients on social media: they're not doing these 5 things!
And after learning these 5 key strategies and implementing them into my own business, I was able to finally attract my dream clients - people who were actually interested in what I had to offer, who wanted what I had to give them, and who were so excited about working with me that they couldn't wait to get started!

Now that I've figured out how to do this myself, I want to help YOU do the same!

If you want to know what they are, then you got to listen up to this podcast episode.

And if you want to have all these wonderful things in your life right now - well, then this episode is for YOU!

So join me as I talk about the 4 keys to being bold in your biz and life so that together, we can create more impact than ever before!.

You're a circle. You're not a square.

You know what I'm talking about, right?

It's that feeling that you're constantly trying to fit yourself into a box that just isn't right for you—you know, like when you try to be someone else because you think you have to be in order to get people's approval.

Or when you feel like your life is just one big performance and no one will ever see the real you.

You're feeling trapped. You're suffocated by the rules and expectations of the world around you. You feel like you can't be yourself because someone else has decided who they think you should be.

But guess what?

It doesn't have to be that way anymore. We are more than capable of taking control over our lives and living authentically in our own bodies - we just have to break out of the cage first.

And now's your chance: with today's episode, Hayley Latcham will be sharing with us the 9 keys to women's empowerment so you can be who you truly are - an empowered woman ready to take on the world on her own terms.

Don't miss this one!

What if I told you that the most important thing in life is to own yourself?

You might think I'm crazy. You might think that there are other things that are more important than self-acceptance. But hear me out.

If you don't love yourself, how can you truly be happy?

If you don't love yourself, how can you feel confident in your own skin?

If you don't love yourself, how can you shine?

I believe that when we learn to accept ourselves for who we really are, good and bad, then we get closer to our true potential.

But how does one go about learning to love themselves? And why should we even bother trying to do so?

In this episode, we'll explore how self-ownership can help you reach that next level in life and start bringing in real success.

So get ready to learn the power of owning yourself unapologetically and reap all the awesome rewards that come with it!

We're told to be appreciative of everything we have, but at the same time, we should never ask for more than what we're given.

If we do ask for more, we're called greedy or demanding—and those are not words any girl wants to hear. It's like there's some kind of unwritten rule that says if you want something more than what you have, then you must be greedy.

But here's the thing: all this time I've been thinking that being grateful and demanding were two completely opposing forces. That if I wanted something better out of life, I had to choose between one or the other. And I'm here to tell you that's not true!

You can absolutely be grateful for what you have in life while also demanding what you deserve out of life. And as women, this is where our power lies—in knowing how to balance both of these things together. This is how we achieve our goals and live the best lives possible! More money, more recognition, more respect—more of just about anything is possible if you're willing to ask for it and work towards it!

But if you don't demand what you deserve—if you don't speak up for yourself—you'll never know how far you could have gone.

So listen up and learn how you can be grateful AND demand more from yourself and your life!

Do you ever struggle to ask for what you want?

I think a lot of us do—we're worried about being rejected, or we just don’t want to come across as needy or demanding. And I totally get it.

Not asking for what we want may seem like a small thing, but it can lead to big problems.

When we don't clearly and authentically ask for what we want, it can lead to passive-aggressive behavior, frustration, anger, and resentment—and that's no way to live!

But when we ask for what we want, clearly and authentically, we put ourselves in control of our own destiny.

And that helps us live the lives we're meant to live—the impactful, fulfilling lives that are waiting for us.

What do you think? Are you ready to learn how to ask for what you want?

If your answer is yes, then you’d have to tune in to this episode. We're going to dive deep into the key ingredients that we need to have before we can ask for what we want and how we can actually articulate what we're asking for. We'll also talk about your fears around rejection and how a "no" is just another step closer to a "yes".

This is going to be an actionable episode so be sure to have your pen and paper ready!

Do you ever feel like you're not making progress in your life? Or that you'll never be able to make the impact you want to make in the world?

I totally get it.

Sometimes it can feel like for every step forward, there's a step back. You might be trying to do all the right things—working hard, doing what everyone tells you to do, putting in the hours—but still feeling like you're getting nowhere.

We've all been there.

But what if I told you that not moving forward doesn't always mean that you're failing?

In fact, sometimes, slowing down can help you level up and achieve more than what you initially planned.

And if you really want to go far in life, the path is rarely linear—you'll have to take risks, step out of your comfort zone, and make some mistakes along the way.

In today's episode, we're joined by Jas Bhandal, who shares her remarkable journey - the ups, the downs, and everything in between. She'll talk about how she went from studying law to finding her true passion in making positive change within the fields of mindfulness, yoga, and meditation.

If you want to feel empowered or want some inspiration for pursuing your passion, this episode is for you.

Do you ever feel like you're not good enough? Or smart enough? Or pretty enough? Or just generally enough to sell yourself and your products or services? You try to put yourself out there, but something holds you back.

Trust me, I get it. As an entrepreneur, I've felt that way before.

It's so easy to look at other people online who seem more successful than us, with more followers and more dollars in the bank, and wonder why we can't be like them instead of just embracing our own personal path. But you know what? If you don't learn how to sell yourself on what you're doing and why you're doing it, no one else will be sold either!

I mean, it's kind of like the old saying: "If you don't believe in yourself, no one else will."

So how do we get over this hump?

In this episode, I'm gonna show you how to resolve this inner fight by learning how to be sold on yourself, before others will be sold on your product or service.

Are you a dreamer?

Do you have big goals and strive to be the best you can be?

Personal development is a wonderful thing, but there’s a big difference between bettering yourself and striving for perfection. Nothing is ever perfect, so believing we need to obtain it leads to overachieving, procrastination, self sabotage, avoiding risks and not showing up. Those things are never good.

In this episode, I talk about how perfectionism used to play out in my life and why it’s so damaging to our lives, businesses and relationships. If this is something you struggle with, I share some keys that will help you shake things up and focus on progress over perfection.

We all have stories in our subconscious that influence the way we respond, the decisions we make and how we feel on a daily basis. These stories shape who we think we are, where we fit in the world. Our egos work hard to keep those stories alive.

In this episode, I talk about what your ego is, how it’s formed and how you can tune in deeper to your intuition to respond from your heart space instead of your ego. I share some examples of how our egos can be triggered to wreak havoc and 4 ways to help you tell the difference between your ego and the voice of your intuition.

There is always more for us to learn about ourselves and our human behaviour. I hope this episode gives you some insight into how you respond to situations in life and what you can do instead by tuning a little more into your intuition.

In business there will always be resistance. Something I have learned in my journey is to make sure I gain clarity on where the resistance is coming because it isn’t always as it seems.

I’m getting vulnerable again today as I talk about the biggest mistake I’ve made in my business to date. I wanted to share this with you today because I see a common pattern with female entrepreneurs making the same mistake without really being aware of it.

In this episode, I share my journey through a time of real uncertainty, how my confusion translated into my messaging during an important launch and how I allowed fear to stop me in my tracks.

My biggest mistake was putting others on a pedestal and not trusting my intuition in the process. This mistake cost me thousands of dollars but the lesson I have learned is of so much more value. It taught me to lean into my intuition and back myself in my business. I hope this episode empowers you to do the same.

In today’s episode I am joined by the beautiful Nicole Gibson. She is a multi-award winning entrepreneur, a former mental health commissioner, a speaker, transformational facilitator, and source of immense love in the world. Nicole promotes love in everything she does and even wrote a book about it called “Love out Loud: a Millennial's Guide to Enlightenment.”

Nicole has overcome a lot to reach where she is right now and has gained a lot of insight from those struggles. Nicole also opens up about her struggles with an eating disorder and how love helped her to heal.

That love is not this idealised vision, a frequency we tune into and our purest state of mind. We dive into how you can find and create your own state of love. This spiritual journey is never an easy one, it is brutal, beautiful and humbling, but always worth it.

Mothers day is coming up, and it’s always an interesting time for me. On the one hand, I have two beautiful children and am so thrilled to be a mother myself, but I also lost my mother 10 years ago, and it is always a day of reflection for me.

To celebrate mothers day this year, I wanted to share with you the profound impact my mother’s life and death have had on me, and how she inspired me to lead the life I now lead.

My mum died after a battle with cancer and I remember the day she died like it was yesterday. For anyone who has been close to someone with cancer, you understand how brutal it can be to deal with it on a daily basis, but my mum battled it with a strength that still inspires me.

When she died, I feel like I lost a part of myself as well. I feel like that happens whenever someone we love dies. We live the rest of our lives with that hole, and it really hurts, but it’s also a reminder of the irreplaceable love we have.

After my mother’s death, I began to think more about my future. I truly loved teaching but I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more out there meant for me, and this was the catalyst for me to pursue it.

In this episode, I’ll dive into how I found my path, my passion, and my power over my own life. I’ll explore lessons I learnt and insights I gained which can help your life and your business.

Today I am incredibly lucky to be joined by Nartarsha Napanagka Bamblett, an Aboriginal woman from the Yorta Yorta, Gunai Kurnai, Wuradjeri & Warlpiri tribes. She is an indigenous facilitator and storyteller, a cultural contemporary performer, business owner, and a mother. Her passion is empowering self-love and confidence in women and connecting all people through indigenous culture.

We’re going to delve into the story of her family and the living trauma passed down from the stolen generation. The everlasting impact of having culture forbidden and family connections separated. She believes she is incredibly blessed to walk down a path of healing, to combine her connection to the oldest living culture on earth and all that she is with her access to modern education, health, and technology.

She talks inspiring others to choose the best way for them to live in their lifetime. Having them be, see, hear, and give themselves to the world in a powerful, respectful, and magical way. We also discuss the lessons Australia can learn from mother earth and indigenous knowledge. Rather than continuing to take take take from nature, we must learn to respect it and form a mutual relationship. I hope that this episode inspires you to think about things in a new or deeper light.

I believe that now is the time that women in business need to step up. Women who really care about making a difference in the world, women who care about leaving a legacy and strive toward making the earth a more just and equitable society for generations to come. Because as they step up into the person they were made to be, as their businesses thrive, so their impact grows and the world expands in strength and love.

In this episode, I talk about why I want to see money in the hands of women and why I truly believe that it will change the world. This is a topic so close to my heart and I share about the promise I made after visiting a group of young girls in Mumbai who were victims of human trafficking. I talk about the power of giving, some of my experiences running a not for profit organisation for the past decade and share some of the negative beliefs about money that I’m still unravelling.

We need to challenge ourselves to step up into the true potential of who we really are. What story are you telling yourself that’s holding you back? Are you playing smaller than you’re made to play in your business? Know this, that you are far more capable than you’ll ever know of creating the change you seek to make in this world, whatever that may be.

At some point in our lives, we all ask the same question... Who am I to do this?

You might be starting a business, launching a new product or stepping up into the next level to claim your space in the world. Perhaps you’ve made some big financial goals, you’ve decided that you want to make a greater impact in your life or you’re doing something to put yourself out there. At any point of growth, it’s all too easy to get caught up in self doubt.

In this episode, I talk about why so many of us are afraid of success and how we can actually use self doubt to teach us where we need to focus our growth. I share from my own journey in deciding to follow my intuition to start coaching female entrepreneurs and why we shouldn’t let other people’s limitations become our internal dialogue.

If you’re at a growth point in your life or business and self doubt is kicking it, don’t let it define who you are and the decisions that you make. Trust that you can learn and grow into the person you need to be to achieve your goals and live the life you truly desire.

I hope this episode encourages you and reminds you of who you really are, a powerful and unique individual with a divine purpose. So the next time you hear self doubt calling, you can reply to that voice with confidence, knowing that you’ve got this.

Wherever you are at in life or business, fear will be there. But it doesn’t have to hold us back. Doing a Facebook live, launching a new product, or attending a networking event can all trigger us into fight, flight, or freeze. This is because our brain cannot differentiate between real and perceived threat so most of the time when we are afraid, we aren’t actually in any danger.

In this episode I am going to tell you how to identify and deal with the different types of fear, so that we know when to act, when to trust our intuition, when to listen, and when to walk away. We will also discuss how to turn fear into a friend instead of an enemy so that we can ultimately move past it and the unhelpful behaviors it brings. We all come up against procrastination, self-sabotage, burn out, anxiety and so many others during our lives. We can learn to lean into these feelings, recognise them and move through them.

I hope that by the end of this episode you will feel a lot more confident taking action despite your fear, have an understanding as to where it comes from, and know that you can take back the wheel to your life.
