There is a newfound interest in plant-based medicines to treat a multitude of ailments. One of the most promising ways researchers hope these compounds can help is to address mental health. Depression is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide, and rates have only been going up. In fact, Boston University estimates that approximately 33%, or 1 in 3, people in the US experience depression on an annual basis. I interviewed transformational sales coach and podcaster Lois Koffi and she shared openly about her experience with psilocybin and DMT, found in mushrooms and ayahuasca respectively, and how they helped her overcome depression in her life.
