You can try to make me feel ashamed of being a BLACK WOMAN.

You can try to dictate what beauty looks like and what intelligence acts like.

You can try to tell me what I should what to be.

But listen to this. "GOD could have made me anything and HE chose

to make me a BLACK WOMAN"

"SAY IT LOUD

I'M BLACK AND I'M PROUD"

If you are a Black person (African American) who grew up saying FOUR (4) instead of FO, someone at some time made fun of you. Like me, you grew up having to listen to Black folks say to you, "You sound white," "You talk so proper," "You're trying to be something you're not" or other such ridiculous comments. And at the same time, you've endured ludicrous comments from white folks like, "OH you're so articulate," "You're so well spoken, " "You're so well read," but never as a complement. Those comments ALWAYS include an element of surprise. Well, this episode is for you.

This episode is also for the Black people who choose to pick at other Black people because of how they sound. It's for the white people who engage in microagressions like showing their surprise at a Black person who says FOUR (4) instead of FO.

Are sports a way out of generational poverty, an avenue to creating generational wealth? Or are sports just another way to capitalize on the backs and talents of our Black youth? We are all familiar with the quote, "An eye for an eye” Gandhi's response to that was, “An eye for an eye will only make the whole world go blind.” Where do you think you fit in?
