What sets us apart? Leviticus is about separation. A separate sacred space. A separate sacred people.

Building the tabernacle created sacred space. The laws and rituals created sacred people. Separate from other nations. A sacred people who took care of the poor and the stranger called to treat them with integrity.

Sacred space, sacred people and a safe place.

Our homes, our workplaces, our communities, are they safe spaces?  It's up to us to create them that way.  Treat people with respect and honour.  It is not only the right thing to do; it creates safe homes, great workplaces and safe communities.

As believers, we are sacred space, sacred people called to be a safe place.

When Jesus came. The first century Israelite  knew so clearly what he was bringing was so different. Jesus was forgiving people and releasing them from deep moral failure.  This was something that had never been done before. This was life changing.

Forgiveness is available to everyone for God is not willing that anyone should perish.

Living  the milk and honey life.

It Is Finished.

Exodus 40:34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

It is finished.

The master craftsmen have finished, and laid down their tools. The Artisans have completed their tasks. The labourers are gone back to their tents.

Everything is finished. All the work has been done just as the Lord commanded Moses.

This is now "Sacred Space" on the earth. A space where  ordinary men and women could come and enter into God's presence.

"I will do the very thing you have asked"

This is what God said to Moses. Let the profundity of this sink into your hearts. God is ready to start again, this time with Moses.

We are privy to the most intimate conversation between Moses and God.

...................

Moses prevailed upon the Lord and the Lord changed his mind.

God will change his mind. God will do things differently when we ask. Prayer, intercession for ourselves and others is time well spent. Milk and Honey people are not fatalists saying "what will be, will be"

They are those who prevail on God to bring change, to save lives, to give a hope and a future.

What has God called you too. Bezalel and Oholiab were filled with the Spirit of God. Given skill, ability, knowledge in all kinds of craft.

We often think a calling is traditional ministry, But God calls us to many different kinds of work. Arts, crafts, business, trades, retail. The gifts and callings of God are irrevocable. Romans 11:29.   fulfilling our callings is our spiritual act of worship.  No matter where you are, or what your doing seek to worship God with the work you do.

Fear paralyses. Trust makes a way where there is no way.

David wrote this Psalm when he fled from his son Absalom who was attempting to usurp him.  You can read the full story in 2 Samuel 15 - 20.  It's an incredible story of leadership that trusts God. In it David epitomises the New Testament quote Be wise as a serpent and as gentle as a dove. (Matt 10)

1 John 4:18 tells us perfect love casts out all fear. David on the run, slept and woke refreshed. Saying "I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side"
