Welcome to a brand new podcast from South Mountain Community Church, a multi-site church with 5 locations in Utah.
This is the Fully Delighted podcast where we will talk about topics that enable you to live with more delight and less despair. Did you know that God is most glorified in you when you are most delighted in Him? That’s right. And the more devoted to God you are, the more delighted in God you will be.
In this podcast we’ll talk in-depth about what it means to be fully delighted in God, and we want to invite you along for the journey. We’ll be hearing weekly from our lead pastor, Paul Robie, and others as we explore full devotion, and full delight. We hope you’ll join us each week as we take our next steps on this journey together.
In this “hidden track” epilogue, the hosts explore what history and church tradition suggest about Mark’s life and dramatic death, and how it may connect to the abrupt ending of his Gospel. They unpack the possibility that Mark was martyred in Alexandria around Easter during Nero’s reign—potentially before finishing his account—leaving others to preserve and extend his work. Redemption is beautiful. Every Christmas season, we’re immersed in stories that celebrate and embrace this reality. We love these stories because they display for us, in full and living color, the wonder of redemption. Of a life gone bad only to somehow be restored and returned to goodness once more. Yet, no matter how much we enjoy redemption on the screen (or the page), we sometimes struggle to believe it’s possible in “real life.” We delight in redemption stories, but we struggle to believe that redemption could be possible for us…and for others...
