Welcome to a brand new podcast from South Mountain Community Church, a multi-site church with 5 locations in Utah.
This is the Fully Delighted podcast where we will talk about topics that enable you to live with more delight and less despair. Did you know that God is most glorified in you when you are most delighted in Him? That’s right. And the more devoted to God you are, the more delighted in God you will be.
In this podcast we’ll talk in-depth about what it means to be fully delighted in God, and we want to invite you along for the journey. We’ll be hearing weekly from our lead pastor, Paul Robie, and others as we explore full devotion, and full delight. We hope you’ll join us each week as we take our next steps on this journey together.
In this “hidden track” epilogue, the hosts explore what history and church tradition suggest about Mark’s life and dramatic death, and how it may connect to the abrupt ending of his Gospel. They unpack the possibility that Mark was martyred in Alexandria around Easter during Nero’s reign—potentially before finishing his account—leaving others to preserve and extend his work. The conversation reflects on how even an unfinished story can carry a complete and powerful message, shaping how we read the Gospel of Mark today.
In this final episode of the season, Eric and Trevor reflect on a powerful Good Friday and Easter weekend, celebrating the impact of prayer, community, and the record-breaking number of people reached across South Mountain. They then wrap up the Gospel of Mark by exploring its abrupt ending, the debated additional verses, and how the resurrection ultimately affirms a greater story that gives meaning and direction to our lives. The episode closes with an invitation to step into that story—recognizing that Mark’s ending isn’t just a conclusion, but a call for each of us to choose how we respond to the real Jesus.
In this episode, we explore the powerful contrast between the way of Jesus and the way of worldly power through the lens of Palm Sunday, where His humble entrance reveals a radically different kind of King. As expectations of political rescue collide with God’s deeper plan of salvation, we uncover how the crowd’s praise quickly turns to rejection—and what that exposes in our own hearts. Ultimately, this conversation invites us to see Jesus for who He truly is and challenges us to reflect how we “show up” in light of His kingdom.
On this episode of the Fully Delighted Podcast, we explore the Mount of Transfiguration and what it reveals about Jesus' true identity and glory. This powerful moment connects the Law, the Prophets, and the story of Sinai to show that Jesus isn’t just a teacher; He is the fulfillment of it all. And in both our mountaintop and valley moments, we discover that the glory of God doesn’t crush us because Jesus was crushed for us.
Go behind the scenes of this week’s message on the Fully Delighted Podcast as Pastor Kelly and Trevor unpack Mark 8 and the tension between who we think Jesus is and who He really is. From personal stories to deeper context, they explore the confession, correction, and cost of following Jesus—and the pieces that didn’t make it into the sermon. It’s an honest, insightful conversation about letting Jesus reshape our expectations and what it truly means to follow Him.
In this episode of the Fully Delighted Podcast, Pastor Eric and Trevor unpack Mark 6 and the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000, revealing how Jesus shows Himself as the final Shepherd and the greater Prophet. Through the lens of the H.A.L.T. principle—Hungry, Angry, Lonely, and Tired—they explore how our deepest appetites often lead us toward unhealthy solutions when we are spiritually exhausted. This conversation invites listeners to see how Jesus truly satisfies our deepest needs and provides real help in moments when our souls are most vulnerable.
Pastors Eric and Ben reflect on Jesus calming the storm in Mark 4 and what it reveals about who Jesus truly is. They explore how Christ’s limitless power, wisdom, and love reshape the way we understand suffering, fear, and faith. Rather than promising a life without storms, this conversation points to the deeper hope found in trusting the One who holds authority over all of creation.
In Week 4 of the Fully Delighted Podcast, we continue our journey through the Gospel of Mark by exploring three powerful scenes in Mark 2 where Jesus confronts religious misunderstanding and exposes the danger of “ignoring reality.” Through dinner parties, fasting questions, and Sabbath debates, we see how both religion and irreligion can act as unreliable narrators in our lives, distorting who Jesus is and who we are. This episode invites you to trade false stories for the true and better story of the God King who brings real joy, real rest, and real freedom.
In this episode of the Fully Delighted Podcast, Pastor Eric and Trevor dive into Mark 1–2, exploring Jesus’ authority to forgive sins and bring true fulfillment beyond changed circumstances. Through the stories of the healed leper and the paralyzed man, they reflect on how Jesus meets our deepest need, not just physical restoration, but a restored relationship with God. The conversation closes with a powerful look at what it means to be fully delighted in Christ: loving God for God’s sake and finding an unshakable identity in His love.
In this episode of the Fully Delighted Podcast, Pastors Eric and Trevor walk through Mark 1:16–39, exploring the authority of Jesus as the God King who calls disciples, casts out evil, and heals the sick. Together, they unpack what it means to submit to Jesus’ authority—not as a burden, but as an invitation into the good and flourishing life. Whether you’re new to Mark or deep in the reading challenge, this conversation will encourage you to take your next step toward being fully devoted and fully delighted in Christ.
Welcome back to the Fully Delighted Podcast from South Mountain Community Church as Pastor Eric and Trevor begin a brand-new season walking verse by verse through the Gospel of Mark. In this episode, they introduce Mark’s fast-paced and hope-filled account of Jesus, exploring the historical setting, the role of John the Baptist, and why this “good news” would have been so powerful for first-century believers. Join us as we go deeper than Sunday sermons and rediscover the real Jesus, the God-King who invites us into life fully devoted and fully delighted in Him.
In this final episode of the What It Means to Be series, Pastor Eric is joined by Trevor and Heather to answer some of the biggest questions submitted by the SMCC community. Together, they explore topics like heaven, the Trinity, salvation, suffering, spiritual gifts, and how Christians navigate culture with both grace and truth. With honesty, humor, and deep biblical reflection, this conversation points listeners back to the hope that Jesus is enough.

Redemption is beautiful. Every Christmas season, we’re immersed in stories that celebrate and embrace this reality. We love these stories because they display for us, in full and living color, the wonder of redemption. Of a life gone bad only to somehow be restored and returned to goodness once more. Yet, no matter how much we enjoy redemption on the screen (or the page), we sometimes struggle to believe it’s possible in “real life.” We delight in redemption stories, but we struggle to believe that redemption could be possible for us…and for others...
Giving is a redemptive act. If you’d like to partner with us redemption this Christmas, click here.
