Welcome to We Believe: We focus on a new Article of Faith or belief from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints each month, diving into what they are, why they are important and how we can apply them more fully in our lives, to help bring love and joy into our hearts as we come closer to God and Jesus Christ.
This is part 2 to episode number 7, which talks about the Third Article of Faith. We believe that through Jesus Christ, all mankind may be saved by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel.
Jesus Christ has made it possible for all of us to be saved but it is by obedience to his laws and ordinances that we are changed and can become like our Savior and Heavenly Father. Laws and ordinances do not restrict us but instead set us free, allowing us to safely make it through this life and become a far greater person than we are today. My hope is that we can all desire to be more obedient in our lives and draw closer to the Savior and God.
We believe that through the atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel.
This is a 2-part episode with this episode focusing on what the atonement of Jesus Christ is and what it can mean for each of us. Jesus Christ was the ONLY being to be able to complete this essential atonement for everyone. His atonement is the way by which we can all return back to God. We don't have to suffer alone, hold onto our sins, or feel like no one understands us. Jesus Christ knows each one of us perfectly because he suffered for us individually. He knows you. He desires that you follow Him to find peace and your way back to God.
In this episode, I talk about how we can choose to fight along side Jesus Christ in the war today of good vs. evil. We have been given exactly what we need to do in order to have spiritual protection or armor. If utilized, this armor can protect you and your family against the evil attacks of Satan. We can boldly stand each today before evil and say, "not today Satan."
In this episode, I dig a little deeper into how God is both just and merciful. Why is this important to know? Every commandment or law that we are given from God has a purpose and obedience to that law will bring us blessings and disobedience will bring us punishment. Come partake of God's mercy through Jesus Christ!
In this episode, I share about our second article of faith, we believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.
We all have agency, even before we came down to this earth. We chose to follow God's plan and as a result, BAM, we are here! The life we live now is full of choices, large and small. The most significant choices in life either bring us closer to God or further away. We've been given the right path to live in this life to bring us back to God. Are we choosing daily to stay on that path or are we choosing to take an unknown path? Through Jesus Christ, we can always correct every wrong choice and be blessed when we make right ones.
This is part 2 to the episode about the Book of Mormon. Now that we have the book, how do we use it?
There are so many ways to study and read this book of scripture. I'll share my own experience and testimony of the Book of Mormon and give examples of ways you can use it. However you choose to study it, do it with an honest heart, seeking for understanding and the mysteries of God will be unfolded before your eyes.
For this topic, I have broken it down into 2 episodes. This one will focus on why we have the Book of Mormon in our lives.
We are blessed to have God's commandments in our lives to give direction and peace. However, without the true and complete commandments, how would we know our way through life to return back to Him? The Book of Mormon is God's gift to us to give us the complete gospel.
