Through the words, "I identify as...", the enemy has hijacked a foundational principle that belongs to God. Only He has the right to tell us who we are... because He is our Creator. He made us. He is the One who knows who He made us to be, and what will bring us true joy. When we find out from Him our true identity, then and only then can we live in the fullness of life that He intended for us all along.
Today, our Savior is assuring us, "In Me, you may have peace." Peace is our inheritance, it is our privilege, and it is our right as children of God. This episode launches a series about walking in victory where it comes to the activity constantly happening between our ears. The mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, so come explore with me what it looks like to be Spirit-focused in our thought life!
When we imitate our Savior by choosing to wear the breathtaking garments of humility, we attract His empowering grace to ourselves. We were created to live in complete dependence on Him, humbling ourselves under His mighty hand. In His beautiful, perfect timing, He will restore, exalt, and establish you.
God has provided luxury garments for you and me. These are spiritual clothes, radiant in the heavenly realm. However, the Bible tells us that the robe of righteousness in which He arrays us is also visible the physical realm. How so? The gift of His righteousness becomes practical righteousness. We live out our overflowing love for Him in the shape of the "righteous deeds" granted us to wear each day. Holy Spirit calls us to faithfully keep this "bright, pure linen" clothing of ours on in anticipation of His coming.
When we worship the Lord "in holy attire" as Psalms describes, the glory from His presence gets on us. We experience His powerful voice and manifestations of HIs power that shift atmospheres and circumstances in the earthly realm.
When we worship God, we worship Him dressed in the splendor of holiness. Wrapped in His radiance, we are then ready for whatever may lie ahead. His presence infuses us with strength and joy.
Just as a winter coat can insulate you from frigid weather conditions, your spiritual garments are meant to protect you from adverse atmospheric conditions in the world around you. The layer of spiritual insulation that the armor of God provides is inpenetrable. You and I have the immense privilege of selecting and putting on what you are going to wear in spirit today--so let's dress for success!
Sometimes, like the prodigal son, we just need our Daddy to wrap us up in a fresh change of heavenly garments. As He does so, the voice of condemnation is silenced and we see ourselves as He does... as we really are. When our spiritual eyes are thus opened to heaven's reality, this results in our continual transformation.
When we clothe ourselves with Jesus, our spiritual garments are fragrant with His beauty. Everywhere we go, we spread the aroma of His nature to everyone around us. There is both loveliness and healing in wearing the robe of righteousness that He provides.
Jesus is stunningly beautiful. As He is, so are we in this world. You and I get to wear, as shoes, the readiness of the wonderful news of peace. This makes your feet radiate with the glory of God. Oh, how beautiful your feet--and your whole being--become, as they walk in His light!
In your hand, you hold everything you need for victory. In your hand, you hold the precious gift of grace. As God provided for David the five stones of grace, He has perfect provision for you, too, today, for everything you are facing. Engage the battle with those five stones of grace and watch as God flattens the mountains in your path!
Today we continue talking together about the mighty weapons that God has put at our disposal for victory in our battles, every time. The name of Jesus is far above every other name, and He invites you and me to invoke it in our moments of need. His name is full of power... and He wants us to experientially know this in the depths of our spirits.
Your testimony alone is an incredibly powerful weapon against spiritual attacks... but what happens when you take that testimony and you turn it into a prophetic decree? Double whammy, and that giant is coming DOWN! Today we unpack what it looks like to take up this second mighty weapon of ours.
Did you know that you have a dangerous weapon available for your use? Your testimony is a lethal threat to the enemy. Everything you have walked through with God up until now has prepared you for the moment you are currently facing. Pull out your history with Jesus, wield it, and watch hell tremble. You were born for such a time as this!
When David took off Saul's armor, he put on something so much more effective: the glory garment, the armor of light. God's glory is a shield around us that protects us from every fiery dart the enemy might try to send our way. When we learn to abide in His presence, even curses bounce off and fall to the ground, never to land on us.
Young David knew that he had to take off Saul's armor in order to walk in what God had for him. When he did so, he slew Goliath Saul's physical armor represented false spiritual armor: that of trusting in men instead of in God. In today's episode, we talk about getting free of the fear of man and learning instead to be in amazed by the Lord of Hosts. When we learn to live off His affirmation, we will not be trapped by dependency on human praises.
The Word teaches us not to put our trust in those things that are passing away: wealth, titles, accolades of this world, and so many other unreliable sources of stability and protection. Instead, we are to put our trust and hope exclusively in God. Today He wants to help us throw away worn out defense mechanisms and find our safety in Him alone.
In God, we often need to take something off in order to put on something better. In today's episode, we explore some ways we might be trusting in faulty protection mechanisms that He never intended for us. We discuss what it looks like to strip off false armor in order to put on the true protection which Holy Spirit provides.
When shame comes calling our name, we tend to do like Adam and Eve: we try to hide. Just as they fabricated an inadequate covering for their deep feelings of shame (out of fig leaves), we try to cover over our own shame with insufficient defense mechanisms. Jesus wants to show us a MUCH better way.
Before Jesus came into our lives, we were wrapped in shame as with a cloak. He gives us the breathtaking gift of removing our filthy garments and dressing us in His very own righteousness. This gift obliterates shame at our very core.
Shame is one of the most painful effects of the Fall of Man. On the cross, Jesus endured the anguish of our shame. He took it for us so we could be entirely free of it. He allowed Himself to be exposed so our sins could be covered.
"Shame off you!" That is the heart of God for you and me. Today, we begin a brand new series on the podcas, "Dress for Success!" Grace and peace to you today, dear friend. By grace, receive a revelation of who God is. By grace, receive a revelation of who you are in Him. By grace, grow every day a little bit more, empowered by this deep-heart knowledge. Growing in grace: what a glorious permanent process is ours!
It all boils down to your identity. "Who do you think you are?" If you think that you are a slave of sin, you will live out of that identity. But if you consider yourself dead to sin and alive to God, made a participant of His nature, your living will be an overflow of that true understanding. Your will live your earthly life in and from the refuge of hope's stronghold.
The superpower of grace is yours… for living free from slavery to sin. You don’t have to sin! As His grace empowers us, you and I get to live in continual victory. As participants in the divine nature, we offer ourselves to Him. Our compulsions become conformed to His righteousness that is alive inside of us.
Just like we were saved by grace alone, we walk into our destiny by grace alone. We are God's masterpieces. He dreamed each of us up and fashioned us to walk in an incredibly specific purpose... all as an overflow of His sheer goodness to us.
Do you long to know and experience God's love for you in the deepest part of your being? This, too, is a gift of grace. It doesn't come by trying harder. Ask your good, good Daddy for this wonderful gift. It is His delight to work in you by His mighty power, that you might know Him better!
God has another superpower to impart to you: that of changing the world through your generosity. He is going to empower you to sow your seed. He is also going to grace you to richly enjoy your daily bread. As you partner with Him, He has in mind for you to absolutely abound in every good work!
Have you ever begged God to take away a circumstance that was causing you pain? Most of us have. What if God wants to bring us the victory... THROUGH us? What if He wants to defeat our enemies by teaching us how to vanquish them? In today's episode we talk about the sheer goodness of God that trains our hands for war and our fingers for battle.

Grace is a gift of empowerment to do what you could not do on your own. When we shout "Grace!" to mountains, they WILL be flattened. God wants to show you what power and authority He has given you to command impossibilities to get out of your way!
Our belovedness is the starting point for our godliness. When you know, deep in your heart, how treasured you are, imitating Jesus is the natural result. Grace overflows in an expression of obedience.
If God is so loving, so tender, so patient, why do so many people instinctively think of Him as angry? The answer lies in the condition of our spiritual eyes. If they are healthy, we perceive Him as He really is. If they are sick, they keep us from receiving the light that sets us free. The amazing news is that He is offering us grace that will heal spiritual eye disease once and for all!
Are you wrestling with painfully difficult questions? Your Abba wants to hear about it. Would you bring them to Him? He has such tender grace that He wants to provide for you in those places of intense struggle.
The sheer goodness of our Abba Father opens our eyes to see Him... and faith is produced. When we perceive Him correctly, profound confidence in His character is the spontaneous result. Deep trust in His heart results when He heals our blindness. Revelation of His lavish, undeserved favor is key for walking into wholeness in Him.
It's grace that reveals to you and me all the breathtaking gifts our Father has in store for us. He wants to give us hope that is real. He wants to hand us power that will change everything. He wants to gift us with perspective that will take our breath away. Abba, open our eyes to see what is ours in You!
Our Daddy God is overflowing with eagerness to meet our needs. He longs to bestow good gifts on us. Every expression of His heart towards us is sheer goodness. Ask for your daily bread of revelation -- He will abundantly provide!
It's the grace of God that opens our eyes, that we might see Him for who He is. Once grace heals our blindness, we behold the One who loves us more than His own life. Once you really see Him, the desire to be with Him becomes all consuming.
When you and I were far away from God, He was aching to have us close. By sheer grace, He brought us near to Him. He longs to reveal to our hearts the height and the depths and the width and the length of His infinite love for us. It will take eternity to unfold it all to us, but you better bet He wants to start now!
When you and I work really hard for Jesus and see amazing fruit, that's not actually us doing it. It's grace. Grace is a powerful force at work in each of us that belongs to Him. We get to come along for the ride and watch Him doing all the work through us!
Just accept it. For the rest of your life, you're going to need a whole lot of grace. And for the rest of your life, there will be an abundance of it! God the Father designed for us to live lives completely dependent on this. Today we start a brand new series on this topic... come and join me!

Life on Planet Earth includes inevitable hurt in relationships. How do we handle the overwhelming emotions that accompany betrayals and disappointments? Jesus has a way. You might be surprised by what He has to say about this...
How often do you live your life under the hunch that you are disappointing God... at least a little bit? If this is frequently the case, I have wonderful news for you. He is unceasingly proud of you. This is the unchangeable nature of His heart towards you.
Jesus' prayers for you are intervening on your behalf... right now. Right now, He is saving you through His personal intercession for you. And He calls you and me to learn to pray the way He does: nestled into the Father's bosom.
Prayer was never meant to be burdonsome. Instead, God created it to be an overflow of our oneness with Him. As we inhabit our place "between His shoulders," His very own prayers bubble up within us and spill out in beautiful unison with His Spirit.
God wants you to know that He remembers everything you have ever done for Him. He treasures each act and gift of love that you bring to Him. When you give Him something dear to your heart, it marks Him for all eternity.
In order to stay encouraged in this life, we need to "see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." What does His goodness look like? Certainly, a longed-for outcome becoming reality would be a manifestation of His goodness. However, He wants even more than that for us. He wants us to see Him for who He is: a good, good Father. When we truly perceive His goodness, that is where true hope is born.
Our culture loudly trumpets the message that a successful life is one marked by wealth, status, and recognition by others. God has a completely different way of viewing our lives. Have we learned to love? This is the only question that will matter at the end of the day... and the end of all things.
Is humility synonymous with self-criticism? Not in the slightest. True humility develops when we become entirely taken with the beauty of Jesus. As our gaze moves move and more onto Him, we forget about being too focused on ourselves. What glorious freedom results when He becomes our everything!
The enemy cannot fathom humility. He has no frame of reference for it. He has no defense against it. When you choose humility, you choose spiritual safety. Humbling yourself vanquishes your foe -- every single time.
God's mindboggling plan of voluntarily dying for us took the devil by complete surprise. He thought he was pulling off an absolute victory, stirring up those in power to kill Jesus. Then he found out that it was actually his most humiliating defeat instead. In the same way, every time he tries to harm you and me, God turns it around for our good. This is His secret wisdom!
Did Jesus say, "Follow me, and become self-made men"? Nope. Instead, HIs words of invitation were, "Follow me, and I will make you..." As we respond to that call, He Himself is going to transform us into what we were born to be. What is our part? Simply to be with Him.
Does it seem to you like there are some people with a direct line to heaven... but others who struggle much more to connect with God? How does He pick the ones that get to have that special connection with Him? This week we dig into these wonderful questions. Spoiler alert: You get to be His chosen friend!
Jesus has promised to make known your Father to you. He intends on doing this continually, so that we would know Him better and better. The end result of this will be that His amazing love will ever be on the increase in our lives. In fact, Jesus longs for us to experience the same endless love the Father has for Him!
In God's hands, time is an elastic, expandable substance. He can pack a mind-blowing amount of value into a tiny fraction of our lifespans. He really does mean it when He says that He will restore to us the years that the locusts ate. You and I can fully trust the Master of Time!

His supernatural joy is working itself into the fabric of who you are... especially during those times where it feels like you just can't anymore. Today, He has new strength for you as you press into His presence. His everlasting arms are a wonderfully safe place to surrender.
You don't need to be afraid of what's up ahead. Your Abba Father will ALWAYS richly provide everything you need for everything you face. No matter what you go through, He will intervene on your behalf. Every single time.
Needing comfort today? It's a very real and completely legitimate need that every one of us has. God Himself acknowledges and affirms this need. And He longs to reveal Himself to our heart of hearts as the Comforter, our mainstay source of all the comfort that we so deeply long for.

Every single one of us following Jesus is in on an ongoing journey, as He strengthens and perfects our faith. Today He wants to give you permission to be IN PROCESS He completes the good work He began in you.

Before the beginning of time, your Father dreamed up some incredibly special plans for your life. He has purposes He desires to bring to reality through you as you partner with Him. His voice will deposit these dreams into you. His voice will cause them to grow inside of you. And His voice will bring them forth through you!

In the same way, we can become excellent listeners in our relationship with God. There is so much He wants to say to you and me, if we will develop ears to hear... and a desire to be His very good friend.
As we explore the topic of getting to know God's voice, this question occasionally pops up: is it okay to ask Him for a sign? Today we explore the answer. Our Abba is amazingly generous when it comes to assurance and encouragement!
Your Abba's voice is not angry. It doesn't bring with it confusion or heaviness. It does not vacillate emotionally. Instead, it imparts to your soul clarity, resolution, hope, and deep peace. Let's lean in and learn to recognize the healing tones of Daddy's gentle whisper.
