The future is unknown. No one has a grasp on the futureHowever we know the One that holds the future in His hands: God, the creator of the heavens and the earth.The scriptures make us understand that we must not boast about the future; there are people who can boast as if they control the futureProverbs 27:11 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.We are called to live one day at a time and not to worry about tomorrow.This does not mean that we cannot plan our future. We must plan, but as much as we can plan, we do not live the entire plan be it a 5 or 10 year plan in a day. We take it one day at a time.The future is so much important to mankind regardless of location, culture or faith. Because of this, people who can predict the future including prophets, palm readers, soothsayers, stargazers and forecasters, always pull a large following.This phenomena is widespread even in economically advanced countries and the church as well. Today in many places if a man of God is unable to speak of the future or use the title “prophet”, he is not recognized.Beloved, no one has control over the future; and God does not want us to know everything about the future. What He wants us to do, is to relate with Him on a daily basis.It is sad that sometimes in our quest to know the future we force God to relay information to us to the point where sometimes we allow other spirits to speak to us.Ecclesiastes 11:4-54 He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.5 As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.If you are going to depend solely on God like we pray in the Lord’s Prayer, “give us this day our daily bread”,Now remember, in the days of the Exodus, God did not provide yearly food, neither was it monthly or weekly food, but He gave daily as much as they needed.The Lord wants us to continually depend on Him; not to give you everything you need for life today and you say tomorrow that i do not need God .We are expected to depend solely on GodThe future is not just about the next day, but generally about we going to an unknown place; how we are going to go there.When you die right now, where are you going to spend eternity?This is one question that every one must answer. Life after death is real but no one has been there to share the experience.People may only share their dreams, visions or revelations, but they have not been physically there. It remains an unknown place that God is leading us to.There are many ways or strategies by which you can get to a place that you do not know.Trial and Error Method:This is a very dangerous method where you are clueless of the impact of the decisions you are making and yet making them.If it works fine, if it does not, then that is itYou cannot gamble with your life in such stances. You cannot live your life taking chances with where you are going to spend eternity.You cannot say all die be die in that context. There is place you are going to after death and u need to be informed on that.The Compass MethodThis suggests that you must know where you are standing in order to determine where you are going. Here is the case that many of us do not know where we are in life; how then can we determine where we are going.The Map or GPS MethodAll you have to do is input the address of where you are and where you are going and then the GPS directs you to where to go. Certain times it works, yet other times it fails; it is not a perfect system.The Personal Guide MethodWhen going to an unknown place, the best solution is to have a personal guide. If you arrive in a foreign country for the first time, and you meet someone at the airport who knows the precise place you are going, you will immediately relax knowing that this person will escort you to your destination.With the personal method we also find out that there many people who are claiming to know the destination. There are so many religions who claim to have the answer for eternity.Many times we get confused and we begin to ask ourselves which one to follow. Why should I choose Christianity or Islam etc. Just examine this scenario.At the cross road of decision making, if you see two sign posts, all pointing to your destination, the first being positioned near a corpse, the second being held by a living person. Which of the two would you follow?Jesus is the only personal guide who claims to be the resurrection and the life. He boldly proclaims that no one goes to the Father except through Him.Jesus died but rose again; death could not hold Him captive. Jesus is the one with the answer.I give you the opportunity right now to confess Jesus Christ as you Lord and personal savior.Just pray this prayer after meLord Jesus, I admit I am a sinner and I cannot save myself. Have a Shepherd
David was a shepherd and could understand the role of a shepherd in the life of sheep, thus he best explains the concept of shepherding far beyond anyone else.
Jesus is the chief Shepherd and the pastors are the under shepherds that He has appointed.
You need both an under shepherd and a shepherd
Once you are a shepherd, you must also be shepherded by an under shepherd above you. Above all there is Jesus Christ who is the chief Shepherd. Do not trivialize this because it is a very important key.
In as much as you have a personal doctor, or a family lawyer, or personal mechanic, or preferred family school, please keep in mind that you need a shepherd in your life; under shepherd.
Jeremiah 33:15
15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.
God wants to give you a shepherd or pastor that you are accountable to and you can call your pastor.
Psalm 23
Psalm 23:1
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
This in other words means that i shall not lack
Having made the Lord his shepherd, David understood that if a man like he was could take good care of his sheep, how much more the God of heaven, He would take better care of him.This gave him full assurance for him to be able to declare that “I shall not want, because He is my shepherd.
You shall not want! Sometimes we get confused about needs and wants:
If a person has two cars at his disposal and wants an extra for luxury sake, that is not a need. That is just merely a want, so the person at that time is not in a place of lack.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: (Psalm 23:2)
The reason why you will not want is that, He will make you to lie down in green pastures. It is God who will make you lie down, and not in the desert or in poverty but in prosperity.
May God cause you to lie down in green pastures in Jesus Name.
To “make you…” means that when God is your shepherd, He imposes it on you.
Make no mistake, this does not refer to only material things, but every thing about you including your peace, healing and joy. There are many people on earth who may have money, cars or houses and yet have no peace or joy in their lives. However when God is your shepherd, He imposes joy and genuine happiness on you.
Many years ago in college, my friends used to call me “Happy Christian”. They marveled about the fact that I was always happy. This is because I allowed The Lord to be my shepherd many years ago.
The Lord, the good shepherd,
knows you must graze
knows where you must feed
knows where you must prosper
many a time we search and search and try to find our own ways of succeeding and yet we keep failing and wasting away time, ending up in all manner of frustrations. I declare to you that the days of struggle and toil are over because today the Lord has become your shepherd.
Dear reader I speak into your life that, you will prosper, you will make it, you abound in good things without having to apologize for it because it is The Lord making you.
If God has blessed you relatively compared to others, do not be guilty about it, but rather acknowledge that it is not by your strength, wisdom or knowledge but it is the Lord, God almighty who has caused you to lie down in green pastures.
You must serve God with your wealth and your resources; you must acknowledge by your service that if it was not for The Lord, you will not have come this far.
It is wonderful to see blessed and wealthy people serving in God in the church wholeheartedly in acknowledgement of God’s goodness upon their lives.
Luke 12:20
20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
I pray this day that special grace and unction come upon you that whatsoever you do propser.
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
(Psalm 23:2)
Why the still waters?
No normal sheep will ever go near troubled waters. Whenever sheep come near a water body, if they hear the least disturbance, they stay back; this is because they so not know that is beneath the surface. It could be a snake or a crocodile or something else which is dangerous. Nobody wants to go near troubled water.
Still waters means that God is going to lead you through trouble-free relationships. Whether marital, business, church, school or family relationship, God will never lead your through troubled waters. This is why the church must always be still.
It is not good for there to be trouble in the church. Refrain from infighting, backbiting, backstabbing, undermining, undercutting and all forms of malice that causes distort and troubled in relationships.
Psalm 23:3
3 He restoreth my soul:
You may have lost something precious or valuable; maybe you lost your relationship with God. After giving you greener pastures and still waters, He also restores your soul.
Mark 8:36
36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Today God is ready to restore your soul no matter what you have done or been through:
if you offended your fellow man
if you lied
if you cheated
if you were unfaithful
if you murdered
if you consulted other gods
if you worshipped idols
if you broke people’s hearts
if you stole
if you committed adultery
if you committed abortions
God will cleanse you from every unrighteousness and restore your soul; all you have to do is acknowledge Jesus as your personal savior.
Assuming that a house got burnt into ashes and the insurance company came and said, we are going to resort the house, what it means is that, the house would be brought back to the state in which it was before getting destroyed.
Joel 2:25
25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the canker worm, and the caterpiller, and the palmer worm, my great army which I sent among you.
Restoration means to bring back an entity to it’s previous state.
Psalm 23:3b
3 he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
God restores you not because of your family name’s sake but because He has placed His name on you.
Joel 2:17
17 Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
Why should people point their fingers at you and say, “you claim to be a Christian, but where is your God”.
God says that henceforth, He will lead you for His names’s sake onto the path of righteousness. This time around it is not just about you, but about God’s name and He will not allow His name to be dragged into the gutters and.
Wherever you fell, rise up and be restored. Rise up and go back to your father, it is never too late because like the prodigal son, the father is waiting for you to come back.

How to Let go of Bitterness
The processes by which you can let go of Bitterness
Someone may ask me, how can I let it go.
These things are the results of faith.
When we sing confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Sometimes we do highly grievous things and we go back to God to ask for forgiveness believing by faith that He has forgiven us and we move on in life.
In this same way, you ought to release whoever has hurt you or offended you by faith from your hurt, no matter how painful it is.
If it is something that you find so deep-seated that you just cannot let go, then get a counselor who can help you with a support system to overcome.
Whenever you forgive others, you do yourself a big favor.
2 Kings 5:3
3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.
Follow Protocol
We must always be mindful of the things we do especially when it bothers on somebody’s integrity.
For example a church’s account office is not a place of secrecy, neither is it a playground. Not everybody has the right to go close to the church’s account. This does not mean that it is a “strong room”. The truth is that not everyone can handle the information that the account department receives.
Just imagine a church member faced with ejection asks another member for help but does not get it. Then upon coming to the accounts office realizes that the previous Sunday that member made a donation to the church which is three times his rent. How many people can handle such information?
How many people have left church because they felt the church could not take care of their material needs, forgetting that everyone has a need?
Knowledge comes with responsibilities that not every one can handle.
Not everyone can handle the information and protocols that take place at the presidency. They must be barricaded from such in order to protect them.
Christianity is not about early age or title
2 Kings 5:4-5
4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.
5 And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.
Naaman thought he could use his position and material wealth to get his spiritual miracle, but he was wrong.
1 Corinthians 2:14
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Spiritual things are spiritually discerned. You cannot use your position in society to control anything spiritual.
This is like a president in one country sending letters to another president to ask a pastor in his country to heal an official.
Christianity is not controlled by the state. The church and state are different. This is why the president of the country cannot order any pastor to heal or offer any spiritual service. Never go to church with your position; go there in all humility to serve God.
It is okay to give respect and protocol recognition but it is not the right of any state official to demand it.
2 Kings 5:6
2 Kings 5:6-7
6 And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.
7 And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.
Political issues are different from spiritual matters. A politician is not a healer. Spiritual things are above natural things. This is why if the son of a president is a minister of God, regardless how younger he is, has the authority to lay hands on his father.
There are people who enter the church and do not want to listen to pastors who are younger then them. Some do not even want to fellowship with churches that are younger in age than them.
But these same individuals without hesitation permit doctors who are half their age to attend them, in hospitals that are sometimes less than a year old.
The question here is, are you more interested in your should or your body?
We are able to travel miles to drop our children at school but we manage to create excuses for not attending church.
Demonstrate the Power of God
2 Kings 5:8
8 And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.
Elisha sent word to the king assuring him that he would provide the solution to Naaman’s need to prove the power of God. Meeting Elisha in this situation was meeting God.
We must be carriers of God such that, when people encounter us, they must know that they encountered God.
When you tell someone that God bless you, let it not be vague; let it be a real blessing.
The time has come that the church of Jesus Christ matters to society. It is time to change and affect things around us, to bring healing to the ailing nation and draw people to Christ. Matthew 5 14
The Gift of God cannot be Bought
2 Kings 5:9
9 So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.
Many Christians in ignorance think that going to church in a particular attire or automobile will attract God’s attention. This is totally wrong.
The gift of God cannot be bought by material things, be it
healing
deliverance
salvation
work of knowledge
counsel
prophecy,
Humility is what attracts God’s attention not affluence. You must come to God just as you are, setting aside your position in society or wealth.
Do not trust in your horses and chariots.
2 Kings 5:10
10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.
The message that Elisha sent to Naaman is the same that God says today to the lost; to be saved or healed, just dip yourself in the blood of Jesus Christ. This is because there is not going to be any other blood that will be shared. The blood of Jesus is enough. He will not be crucified a second time. Rise up wherever you are and whatever situation you may find yourself in, just say that “I dip myself in the blood of Jesus”.
The blood of Jesus atones for our sins and is more effective and powerful than dipping yourself seven times in the river Jordan.
The God of Simplicity
2 Kings 5:11-13
11 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.
12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.
13 And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
Not Your Way
It can be observed from the passage that Naaman went to see the prophet with his own prescription. Many of us want to relate to the God as His advisors. Many want to be advisers to the Pastor in the church and to some extent dictators concerning how things should go. But this is totally wrong.
Come in as a Child
Mark 10:15
15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
We are to come into God’s Kingdom as children
Accept Simple Instructions
Modern Christians do not like to accept simple instructions.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)
We do not want such simple instructions. We want complex and burdensome instructions. Most people would obey if they were asked to bring 7 turtle doves, a white cloth, some money, oil, water from Jericho, or meet at the beach in the middle of the night, they would do it with all passion.
1 John 5:3
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
take out all complexities out of your mind because we serve a God of simplicity. Just believe and you will be healed. You do not need to buy it; Christ paid a heavy price once, and it is enough for everything. Christ’s death for you is enough; you need not pay anyone again for your healing or salvation.
The Little Things of Life
2 Kings 5:1-6
1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the Lord had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.
2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman’s wife.
3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.
4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.
5 And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.
6 And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.
There are certain things in life which are so little but they make great difference in all that we do.
Please your Master
Naaman was captain of the host of Syria’s king and one thing to note here is that, he was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master.
It is important that when we have the privilege to be appointed into position, we discharge our roles and responsibilities with all diligence. We must seek to please the people that put us into positions.
You will often hear people say things like, “I am not here to please anyone, I please only God”. No, that cannot be true. If someone employs you, then you need to please that person who employed you.
In pleasing you employer, I am not referring to eye service, not only when your employer is watching you. You do well whether you are being watched or not being watched.
By all indication, Naaman was not engaged in eye service or lip service, but rather discharged himself honorably. He was deemed a great and honorable man by his master because by him, the Lord had given victory to Syria. That means that he made a big contribution to the king.
It is important that in organization you find yourself, do not just be an addition but seek to be a great contributor.
When you are not in church, the church must feel that indeed you are not, there because of the role you play.
Impact your Environment through Excellent Service
There are people who leave an organization, and no one even notices that they have left, just because their presence does not make a difference. We must seek wherever we are found to make a difference. Let is be said about you that, “by you, God has brought great success to your church, organization, family or team”.
Naaman was also a mighty man of valor; meaning he was a person of excellence. He was dependable and valuable. It is my prayer that you get such accreditations.
There is No One Perfect
Regardless of all that Naaman was, he still had a “but”. He was a leper. One thing we must all admit in dealing with the little things of life is this:
Everyone dead, alive or yet to be born has some form of limitation, in one way or another.
There is no one perfect. This includes
the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac etc
the prophets, Moses, Elijah and Elisha etc
the kings, David, Solomon, Saul etc
the apostles, Peter, James, John etc
The church fathers, Paul, Barnabas etc
Each of these people had a “but”, and it is important that we admit that we are all not encompassing; never perfect in all aspects of life. Our limitations however may not be the same. It is amazing to find out that, people and institutions, including churches, which claim so much perfection, have so many limitations. One key limitation in such individuals or institutions is that, they fail to see good in others and to appreciate others.
Deal with Haughtiness
the appearance or quality of being arrogantly superior and disdainfu
For any individual or institution who think so highly of themselves as perfect above all others; that thought alone is a limitation.
You can be a great leader, prophet or pastor with many gifting and achievements and a huge following, but not liking or appreciating people. That perception alone is a limitation in itself.
There are some limitations which are so obvious, and for such, people can easily identify and see that this person is like this or that. We often tend to see such situations as highly grievous. However, is it more grievous to despise people in your heart and to elevate yourself to the position of God in the eyes of others. This is having a luciferian attitude; the spirit that says that
I will ascend to the most high
I am like God
I want to be worshipped
I want to be honored
I this, I that…
You will often find great people on earth, yet having this “but”. May God help you as read this right now, to search your heart diligently and ask yourself:
what are the limitations in my life
what are the buts in my life
what is it that I need to deal with
It may be something very little, but that can really derail you if you fail to deal with it in time.
These little foxes are those that destroy the vine.
It is important that we deal with the little things in our lives.
Do Not Abuse Opportunity
2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman’s wife.
This maid was a prisoner of war but by divine providence found herself also in the corridors of power. There are many a time, we do not know how God does what He does and how He places us in places of authority that we do not deserve. Only God can give “nobody’s” divine access to people in power or authority.
Never see opportunities that come your way as a right, rather see them as a privilege.
John 3:27
27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
Ecclesiastes 9:11
11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
This maid could have been serving in any part of the refugee camp, but here was she having access to Naaman’s wife as an attendant.
The moment you see an opportunity as a divine privilege, your attitude shifts from pride to humility, and from complaint to gratitude; that is when He continues to do more for us.
Let go of the Past
It can be deduced from the verses 2 and 3 that this maid was a good servant. If she had any bitterness in her, she would not have recommended a solution to her madam’s husband’s problem.
There are some of us who harbor bitterness and resentment from issues from the past; this becomes a snare to us, while the other person it is directed at may not even know.
You end up hurting yourself over and over again. This is the time to let that pain and hurt go. You must not continue to live your life in pain.
There are people today who do not trust anybody nor do they want to go into any form of relationship with anyone because of certain hurtful and disappointing experiences in the past.
The fact that you were brought up in a hostile environment does not mean you must distrust and dislike everyone as a means to hurt other people back. This is the time to let it all go.
Matthew 11:28
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Anytime you rehearse things from the past, you just hurt yourself over and over; so I pray for you this afternoon that my God grant you the grace to let go of every hurt from the past and let God in.
In Ghana we sometimes makes make the statement that, “You are innocent until you are proven guilty”, however when you make the attempt to go to some other countries such as the U.S.A. you are seen as guilty until you are proven innocent and for that reason they must take you through visa screening.
Some people live their lives like that, seeing everyone as guilty and suspicious. Some people are hurt about disappointments in church so much that they suspect every pastor they meet as a potential fraudster. Because one person hurt you, now all pastors are guilty.
If you live your life in hurt and suspicion, you will see gold and by pass it, just like many others who have seen gold in it’s raw state and bypassed it.
Stop Bitterness before it Stops you
Another thing to learn from this maid is that, she was not seeking her personal interest. As a slave girl, she could simply mind her business and not be bothered about the issues of the general. But in here we see her showing concern beyond her personal interests.
This was a similar case like Joseph in prison who was able to detect from the continuance of 2 prisoners that something was wrong. By that he asked them what was wrong and helped them with their dreams. It is interesting to note that the interpretation of the dreams is what became the channel to Joseph’s ascension from prison.
Joseph could have lived in bitterness because of all the false accusations and misjudgment that he had endured from his former employer but he let it all go and focussed on God. He continued to be good to everyone without reservation.
There are people today who were framed up for one reason or the other and are still holding onto that bitterness.
There are people who do not want their siblings or children to marry from particular tribes just because of previous experiences.
You must not pay innocent people with the evil that others did.
Close Proximity to Authority is a Privilege, not a Right
The place this girl was serving was a place of privilege, not a right. Do not see your close proximity to authority as a right. There was no way this girl would’ve known that the whole country’s revered had leprosy, if not because she was brought so close. It is not everybody that can be brought so close to authority and still be the same. Some people must be kept away from the corridors of power because it can destroy them. If this girl was not brought so close, she would never have known. If you are ever privileged to get close to a great man of God or a important person in society, and by that proximity you see certain things or you detect certain things, do not treat it as if you had a right to that knowledge; treat it as a privilege.
Do not Betray The Trust of Your Authorities
You must never betray the trust that was reposed in you, else you lose great opportunities.
This girl saw it that the general had a limitation; she did not go about broadcasting to everybody, she did not even talk to the general himself, but she followed protocol by going to her mistress because after all, she reported to the mistress. So she told her mistress, “mama please there is something i have seen and here is the possible solution”. This is the only reason why she survived, assuming she went about broadcasting it, it is possible that her condition would have worsened. Something bad might have happened to her.
There are people who do not keep their mouths shut; people who cannot close their eyes when they ought to close their eyes. If you behave like this and thing that well, i have the right of proximity, and so I can behave the way I want, you will deprive yourself of any future opportunity.
it is my prayer that God will help you to know how to assess places of influence and how not to take proximity for granted.
Deal with Limitation
It is my prayer that you seek and search your heart if there is any weakness if there is any but, everyone knows u to be beautiful, and to be great and spiritual but you have a limitation, may God help you to humbly deal with your own limitation, deal with it before someone detects that limitation, through prayer, counseling and those that can help you. Don’t keep your leprosy, it can be cured, there is solution to every problem

Well it's been a while since the whole crew was together so we thought what better time than to get everyone on an episode to talk about everything that is happening around the world of Olympic sports and everything else in between? Join Ben, Colin & Jarrod as they discuss a wide variety of topics including the recent retirement of Usain Bolt, both the Swimming & Athletics World Championships and why both Canada & Australia shouldn't be happy with their results. There is also discussion about the Canada & Commonwealth Games (and which one Canada will do better at) as well as future Olympic Bids and paying tribute to some recently departed former Olympians. So much fun, so little time to listen. So do it now to make sure you're up to date!
3 ELEMENTS IN THE CALL OF GOD
A week ago I started talking to us about the call of God and we looked at the life of Elisha. Elisha was a guy that followed Elijah and Elijah cast his mantle upon him. We read from 1 Kgs 19:19-21, and in that verse we saw that when the mantle came upon Elisha, he said to Elijah, let me go and bid fare well and come to follow you, and Elijah said to him, what have I done to you? In effect, it is not for me to decide what you do with the call of God. In that regard, we saw 3 elements that must be found in every call. If any call must be found valid or authentic it must have the following elements:
The Element of God’s Sovereignty: this means that God can call just anyone. Elisha though was a successful agriculturist, owning 24 oxen, equivalent to 3 tractors. This implied that Elisha was not a poor farmer. After he heard Elijah asking, “what have I done to you”, he left, went back and killed the oxen and used the wood for firewood. By killing the oxen, Elisha terminated his career as an agriculturist. He killed and cooked the meat using it to feed the people. By burning the plough-shell Elisha destroyed the bridge between his former life and his new call. The world always tells us not to burn bridges, which is true, however we must of necessity burn certain bridges for example, if you are managing director of a corporation and God calls you into ministry and demands all your time, then you cannot keep one foot in that old job and one foot in the new calling.
The sovereignty of God tells you that you must surrender fully and totally and have nothing linking you to the past. In the same way if you used to be in a particular relationship and now you found Christ, and you realize that this relationship is not good, then you must definitely end that relationship. For some of us who are married and yet keeping certain kinds of relationship that threaten the security of the marriage, such bridges must be broken. In as much as you may want it, or in as much as it may appeal to you, you cannot keep that bridge.
So Elisha had to burn the plow-shell and he followed Elijah and became his servant not his master.You would assume that such a successful business man like Elisha upon deciding to walk with Elijah would become his advisor or probably his solicitor or a kind of controller over Elijah’s ministry. But no, he became a servant.You see God is looking for servants to anoint and He is searching for servants to bless. “I have found David, my servant and with my holy oil have I anointed him”.
The Element of Surprise: Scripture says that “not many of you were wise when you were called, not many of you had a noble birth.” It did not say that “not any”. This means that, there were a few people who had a noble call or in other words who were rich or who were wise. In this regard, Elisha was one successful person who was called. Now, he wasn’t expecting to be called, he was going about his regular job on his farm. Sometimes God calls people to our surprise.There are people whose desire is to just love God and be in church and support financially but to be called into ministry is not one of their options, and yet God calls them. Such people have the element of surprise.There are people sho actually feel over qualified, thinking that God needs them so much that without them, the Kingdom of God will not move on. To such people, it is not a surprise if God calls them, however such a call may not be authentic. I have realized in the bible that, most of the great people God called were all surprised.
e.g. When Gideon was called to lead Israel, when the angel called him a mighty man of valor, he did not believe it, his response was of a surprise, asking that if God was truly with them, then how come the Medianites were in charge and how come his people were losing their battles? Gideon was at the threshing floor instead of being at the battle front, but God called him amongst all the lot. In this case we find the element of sovereignty and the element of surprise. When God called Moses, he complained that he was a stammerer and lacked utterance and therefore unable to fulfill such a task. God told Moses that He would appoint a spokesperson who was Moses’ senior brother Aaron to aid him in fulfilling the task. Here again we see the element of God’s sovereignty and Moses’ surprise. Jeremiah said that “I and just a child, I do not know how to speak”, implying with these excuses that he was not fit to be called. But then God tells him that “Jeremiah even when you were in your mother’s womb, I knew you, I called you, I sanctified you and I separated you as a prophet unto the nations”.
Beloved in these contemporary times, there are great people of God that God called and in examining their lives, you see the elements of sovereignty and surprise in operation.
Personally in growing up I never thought of being a pastor although I gave my life to Christ at a very tender age. On the way I deviated a little but came back after two years. All I thought about was just to serve God but nothing beyond that. Most of my mates at the university whom I studied government with are good lawyers today and that is what I envisioned then. However, God in His sovereignty called me and I had to surrender to be what I am today. As a matter of fact, most of my schoolmates were very surprised when they heard that I was a pastor.
The Element of Surrender:
The fact that God called you must still come with a human response. When Elijah told Elisha that “what have I done to you”, in effect he was telling him that, “it is up to you to respond”. Today there are many who have sensed a genuine call from God do not want to surrender. Some have been called as full-time, others as part-time or as lay workers where they do their jobs as well as serve in ministry. Whichever calling it is, it requires your response. Elisha responded to this call and started to follow Elijah.
When you study chronologically, you realize that from the time Elisha was called to the time his master was taken into heaven was a period of 10 years. For this entire period, Elisha followed Elijah and became his servant, to the extent that when King Jehoshaphat was looking for a prophet in the land, the people told him, “there is the son of Shaphat, Elisha, the man that used to poor water on the hands of Elijah”. Look at the accreditation that Elisha had: the man that used to poor water on the hands of Elijah.
Can you imagine here in Ghana today, an anointed prophet, who is in a church following his leader and for 10 years, all the accreditation and qualification that he earns is that
the man that pours water on the hands of the senior pastor,
the man that carries the towel of the preacher
the man that carries the bible of the preacher
the man that leans the shoe of the preacher
the man that irons the preacher’s shirt
the man that serves water to the preacher
the preacher’s errand boy
the preacher’s cook
For 10 years following a man of God and all he does is to send you. How many Christians do we know today who will humbly stay in a church without being given a microphone
to start to preach
to lead prayer
to prophesy
to sing
Many people do not have that patience today to wait until God calls them. This is why we are having half-baked ministers in the Kingdom. These are ministered who after sensing an anointing over their lives feel they cannot be servants to anybody. The world tells us that, if you want to go up, look up, but Jesus on the contrary tells us that the way up is down. I pray that may God raise servants in this generation.
Beloved, service is not a bad word, servanthood is not a bad word, it is a good word. God’s word said that, “I have found David my servant, and with my Holy Oil have I anointed him”. Can God find you as a faithful servant? Can your pastor find you as a faithful servant?
Are you serving faithfully in your church, or is it that, the moment you
pray for somebody
prophesy to somebody
lay hands on somebody
immediately you begin to think that you must be on your own and that you must be under nobody.
Today, there are so many people who have shipwrecked their ministries not because God did not call them, but for some God had not sent them.
The Called and The Sent
There is a difference between being called by God and being sent by God. God can call you, but may not have sent you.
When I was a little boy growing up, people loved to send me on errands because I did it with alacrity and great speed. On one particular day, one woman called me, “Elvis, I want to send you to the market”. Before I realized, I was already at the market, before I asked myself “what am I doing here”. It was then I remembered that this woman called me but did not yet send me. She simply called me. So ran back to the house and she asked me, where have you been? I then told her that I went to the market. Then she asked, “to do what”. I stood there embarrassed without an answer. Then she said, I did call you, but I did not yet send you.
There are many pastors and many churches, preachers and people on the field whom God has called but were not patient enough for God to send them.
You need to note that when God calls you, He will also send you with details and specifications about location amongst other things. Can you tell where particularly God has sent you to?
When people move ahead of God, they do not feel fulfilled and they begin to roam around different ministries. After being called, it is necessary to wait, to be prepared and to serve under somebody. Elisha was called but not yet sent; and so long as he was not yet sent, he was supposed to be serving under his leader. Elisha must serve under his pastor until such a time as God may choose to send him.
It is possible for God to call you and send you to serve under your pastor. There is nothing absolutely wrong with that. I got called into ministry in 1992, when I left KNUST. I had been in Calvary Charismatic Centre, serving under my pastor Rev. Ransford Obeng in 1990 27 years ago when I joined CCC. Now in 1992, I got the call in into ministry, and I heard God’s call to go into the upper north of Ghana to preach the Gospel. I obeyed and went into the uppermost region where I began to start churches. At that moment I realized that CCC was not into branches yet, so there was no way I could start a CCC church. However, years later, when CCC started opening churches, I realized that there was no use for me to still remain on my own but to rather fold up everything I was doing and place it under him. It is possible to bury your dream, it is possible to bury your vision and serve under somebody.
So for these 25 years, I have been serving Pastor Ransford and all he has to do is to call me and tell me where he is sending me to, and I go.
Beloved, if service is such a bad word to you, then no one will ever serve you. If you think that you cannot serve under anybody, then no-one will also serve under you. For me, it has been a pleasure serving under my pastor. The churches I oversee are not my churches, they are under his leadership. I am not running my vision, it is his vision. I am helping my pastor fulfill the vision that God has given to him. If per adventure, God wants anything else to be done with my life, I believe God will speak to my pastor and God will speak to me. It is a fact that at one point in time, I was the founder and president of a ministry, but I placed it all under my pastor, so that I do not run dual vision.
You cannot run your vision in someone else’s vision.
The vision of my pastor is to raise committed Christians to fulfill the great commission and this is what I have been doing, the vision of my pastor. Elisha surrendered everything.
If one day you became a leader of a church or organization, and God blessed you with people of your character and nature to serve under you, would you be able to stand?
If you had assistants who would treat you in the same way as you treated your pastor,
the negative comments
the murmurings and complaints
the gossip
the character assassinations
the pilfering and theft
beloved, whatever a man sows, that shall he reap. So when you get the opportunity to serve anyone, serve well, without making it an end to a means.
Servanthood is not a curse
All the great men and women and achievers will tell you that, they succeeded not because they were that good, but because of the kinds of assistants that God gave to them. This tells us that if your church is doing well, then it is because of the kinds of assistants that your pastor has. You must serve your leader in any capacity that he sends you.
Learn to be Alone
19 So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.
20 And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?
21 And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him.
1 Kings 19:19-21
One key test in a person’s life or ministry as a leader is the Test of Loneliness. This is because leadership can be a very lonely place. Athough we often see leaders surrounded with so many people, only very few people actually show care or concern about what leaders go through. We must develop a strong appreciation for the people that God has appointed as leaders over us.
All levels of leadership within the church can be very lonely, regardless of the leadership structure used. This is why if God will ever use a leader, he must go through the test of abandonment.
Standing Alone When Elijah touched Elisha, he ignored him.
20 And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?
1 Kings 19:20
From verse 20, in effect Elijah was telling Elisha that he did not care whatever Elisha did. He meant to say “It is up to you to make your decision, Elisha”.
In the moment of taking decisions as a leader or in the moment of surrendering, you may be alone. No one may feel what you are feeling. No one else may understand what you are going through.
This is why great leaders are people who are able to bear being misunderstood. People who can contain being misrepresented or misinterpreted. Great leaders are people who are able to walk alone until others see what they see.
Examples are:
Abraham when God called him out of his father’s house (Genesis 12)
David when he enquired of the Lord to pursue the Amalekites (1 Samuel 30)
Joseph when he had a dream about the future which attracted anger and envy from his family (Genesis 37:5-10)
Daniel, when he purposed in his heart not to defile himself with the king’s food (Daniel 1:8)
In all these cases, these great leaders stood for a cause, when others did not yet understand. May God help us to stand firm by the visions that He reveals to us in Jesus mighty name, Amen.

The Test of Ambition 2 Kings 2:9-11
9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.
11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;
14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the Lord God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.
15 And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
16 And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest peradventure the Spirit of the Lord hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, Ye shall not send.
17 And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not.
Ask what I shall do for thee This was like giving Elisha a blank cheque. This was a test of Elisha’s ambition.
I often hear statements such as:
my leader is envious of me
my leader dose not like me to excel
my leader dose not do this or that
Let me tell you this as a servant working under a pastor
I have a leader, and as an assistant, what I have to say regarding assistants also apply to me. I have lived this message or revelation for twenty-seven (27) years, so this is nothing new to me. I speak to you on this matter not just from divine revelation but also from a daily personal experiance.
When you see people spewing out the above mentioned complaints constantly, then there is one thing about them that you need to check, their ambition.
What is your ambition?
What are you trying to archive around the man of God?
Are you trying to project yourself?
Are you trying to let the world know you?
My ambition and my ministry as an assistant pastor, is the ministry of my senior pastor. The moment I decide to work under somebody, I must immediately bury my personal ambition.
My Experience I buried my personal ambition way back in 1994 when I had an invitation to the United States of America. I came had come to my pastor to ask him for documentation to process my visa. At the verge of leaving he said to me, “Elvis if you had sought my opinion, I would have told you that it is not yet the time for you to travel”.
This prompted a question in my mind which I asked immediately, “Daddy, if you did not want me to travel, why did you help me with this documentation”? He answered, “you did not seek my opinion, you only asked for documentations; I helped you because I love you. If you want my opinion, then I would say, do not go”.
When I heard this coming from my pastor, I decided not to travel again. At that time, I was a pastor at the upper west region of Ghana; so I left Kumasi back to my base, and told my wife that I was not traveling again because pastor said it was not yet time”.
I had allowed my pastor to be positioned in my life such that he could influence my decisions. He can be a road block or a red light to put a stop to my initiatives without any contention.
If you are running a race or driving on a road, and all you see is green light, please be very careful because you will likely crash very soon. This is because, there are junctions on the road.
I pray for you today, that you bury your personal ambitions and take on the vision of
your pastor in ministry
your boss in the office
the organisation where you work
the institution where you school
your husband in the home
This is a good seed to sow now, to reap in the near future.
Desire the Spirit of Your Leader 2 Kings 2:9
9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
In the above scripture we see Elijah giving a blank cheque to Elisha to test his ambition.
What are your values?
What do you stand for?
What are your principles in life?
These must be put to test by your leader.
At this moment Elisha could have been carnal. There are two kinds of ambition:
Carnal ambition
Spiritual ambition
Elisha could have seaid that,
Give me all your properties
Give me an increase in salary
Give me your preaching appointment contacts
Elisha having walked with Elijah for 10 years did not ask anything carnal. He rather requested a double portion of Elijah’s spirit.
Ladies and gentlemen Elisha did not ask for a double portion of the Holy Spirit; what Elisha asked for was the spirit of the leader.
The Spirit of The Leader The spirit of the Leader is very different from the Holy Spirit. In any church, you will most likely find individuals who have the Holy Spirit and yet do not have the spirit of The Leader on them.
Those who do not have have the spirit of The Leader on them,
do not answer to anyone
are not controlled by anyone
are not impacted by anyone
are on their own, having no head
are bosses over their own lives
I am secured in the fact that my senior pastor who counsels my life, also has someone who is an authority over his life. In as much as he disciples me, I am happy to know that there is someone who disciples him as well. That person speaks into the life of my senior pastor just the way he speaks into my life.
If you have no one speaking into your life, and you always do what you want, then big trouble lies at your door.
I pray for you, that if you do not have a leader in your life, may God connect you to one now in Jesus Name, so that your glorious future can be preserved. Amen.

This week Lee brings a saucer in the form of the C57-D from Forbidden Planet, Andy returns to Mass Effect with hopefully less contentious return of the SSV Normandy with the SR2 from Mass Effect 2 and 3, while Pete, brings a boat… I mean the Space Battle Ship Yamato, which seems to be mainly included because it rhymes with tomato… And as ever something goes wonky with the scores and causes as much debate as the ships themselves…
Our Moguls preview continues as we talk to Britteny Cox, who finished this past season ranked #1 in the World. Britteny tells us about growing up on skis, competing in her first Olympics at the age of 15, what it's like competing as a Winter athlete in Australia, the thrill of competing in Dual Moguls, and of course meeting the legendary Dale Begg-Smith and whether or not she has been to his private island!

Faith Hebrews 11:1-3 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Unseen yet Existing We understand from the verse one here that faith is the substance of this hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen. Now the fact that you haven’t seen it does not mean that it doesn’t exist. In your mind, you are hoping for it, in your spirit, you are hoping that it works, but in the mind of God, it has already been created. The substance of things that you are hoping for, but the evidence you have not yet seen does not mean that it is not in existence. According to scripture it exists. For example, you are praying for a spouse. The fact that you haven’t located that spouse does not mean that that spouse doesn’t exist. You may not see any evidence now but in the mind of God it exists. So now, faith is to believe that, that which God has spoken to you or that which you dream about is already in existence. I always say this, if you can dream it, if God can put it in your spirit, if God can put it in your heart, then it exist. It is just a matter of time that it will appear. Testimonies by Believing Hebrews chapter 11 verse 2 says “For by it the elders obtain a good report”. By faith, the elders, the fathers, those that went before us obtained a good report. That means that without faith, without you believing that what you don’t see now exists, you cannot look forward to it. And once you cannot look forward to it that means that there is not going to be a testimony or a good report. The Bible says we should go into the world, preach the gospel to all creation and these signs shall follow them that believe and one of the signs is that you will lay your hands upon the sick and they will recover (Mark 16:17). So as a Christian, you lay your hand upon the sick person and you pray maybe for the person to be healed of a headache but the person says the headache is still there. As a believer who has prayed, what must be your attitude now? You should know that the word tells you that you will lay your hands upon the sick and they shall recover. So you must believe that this person is healed. Now once you believe that that word of God is accomplished, that is where the manifestation will begin to show. You see, one thing that we need to understand is that God himself wants to heal the sick person more than we need it. God wants to bless his people more than we even think we need that blessing. So if you understand that God wants to bless the person, that God wants to visit a person more than we need then we are not going to focus on ourselves as to whether something good or something positive will come out of it. He wants to do it anyway, it is his will to do it. Begin to act on your faith now and you will be amazed at what the Lord will do in your life. Faith for Saving Souls It is God’s desire that all may come to know him. So if you are praying for the salvation of your family or the salvation of your friend, from the day that you prayed that prayer for their salvation, believe that they are saved. So many years ago, someone told me something that has always been with me. He said look, if there is someone that you are trusting God for their salvation, and you pray for them to be saved, you can continue to thank God for their salvation. Because if there is one prayer that God will answer, more than anything else, it is the salvation of humanity. From Matthew 9, bible says that when He saw the multitude, He saw that they were so depressed, they were so dejected, He realised that they were like a sheep without a shepherd. And He says that look, the harvest field is ripe but there were few labourers so we should pray that the farmer of the harvest will send labourers (Matthew 9:38). So that tells you that God Himself knows the field is ripe and he wants labourers to come into it. So if you have accepted him and embraced this heartbeat of His, definitely, you are assured that that prayer of yours is answered. Also, it is not just about souls but every aspect of your life. Anything that you are trusting God for today, for you to obtain a good report, place your faith into it. Believe Totally, without Doubting Somebody is going to say what about if it keeps getting worse, what do I do? You see, what will hurt you is for you to doubt the word of God and then the worst happens. Then you can blame yourself that the worst happened because you took your faith out of Him. But as long as your faith remains in God, that this thing that you prayed for has happened, you will received it. Bible says in Mark chapter 11 that whatsoever that we ask, we must believe that we have received it and that we shall have it. I call this the God kind of faith. Believe in the tangibility of what you are asking and the bible says that you will have it. Total Faith in God’s Word Somebody may be asking this question that, “so what if I believe I have received it and I end up not having it?” Let’s say am praying for someone to be healed and at the end it doesn’t go the way I want it, what does that mean? It means nothing. You have simply had faith in God’s word and God has done it according to his perfect will. Remember, one thing you should always keep in mind is that you and I will not always be able to capture the full counsel of God on every matter. You will never know everything about God and that is why we pray that “let your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” There are things that the Lord has placed within our control and definitely, there are things that are above our control. The bible says in Deuteronomy chapter 29: 29 that the revealed things belong to us and the unrevealed things belong to him. That’s why when the Shunammite woman was approaching Elisha, Elisha saw her from a distance and told his servant, I can see the Shunammite woman and I can sense that there is trouble somewhere but God has not revealed it to me.

This is by no means an exhaustive review given the guys have barely left a third planet, but if you’re on the fence about what the game contains and how much of the memes and anti hype surrounding the game is true and whether its worth getting and what you might face should you get it. Merry Christmas! What is christmas about? Parties, gifts, food, festive feelings of good will? Nah of course not! Its being stuck in close quarters with a bunch of people and trying not to have an argument and Space Dock Jury crew are no different! So join them as they revisit the scores over the past 12 months and try and tidy up some of the more contentious scores of the past and not have a massive argument about the ruddy Normandy SR1 again.
