John Maxwell said, “Feedback is the breakfast of champions!” It takes courage to open yourself up to new information about yourself and learn. It certainly takes courage to become vulnerable and expose your weakness.
When you show vulnerability, especially in public. It takes courage to admit that you need help in some areas. Listen to this, people who say “I need help in this area,” or “Can I ask you a question?” get more respect than those who don’t have the guts to ask the right questions. Do you want to know why? Episode #624: We will end the week with a story. Hey Friends! Listen to this: PERSONAL COURAGE is CONTAGIOUS. If I see you becoming more courageous, all of a sudden I think I need to do that too. Anytime you have courage, other people around you will be courageous as well.
If you’re not choosing courage, you’re hurting yourself but even more, you’re hurting your family, the people around you, and you’re hurting your team. Because if you have enough guts to do this, they will join you in that. What is a small area that I can show courage and then others can be inspired by that?
This is from the book titled Learning Leadership: The Five Fundamentals of Becoming an Exemplary Leader
Episode #623: How do you become more courageous? Simple: take action! If you DO NOT take any risk, you won’t receive any GAIN. Action is the most potent antidote to fear. It breeds confidence and it nurtures courage in a way that nothing else can.
People’s brains are wired to OVERESTIMATE RISK. They exaggerate the consequences and they underestimate the ability to handle it. It’s almost like our brains are risk-averse, our brains want to play it safe. Fear will always drive you to play safe, so start taking action because that’s the only thing that will help you become more courageous.
This is from the book titled Learning Leadership: The Five Fundamentals of Becoming an Exemplary Leader
Episode #622: Courage is mostly about ordinary encounters in life. Courage is personal. Because it is personal, you can get more of this in your life. So how exactly do you get more courage? It is as simple as making a choice to do something rather than to not do something. That’s it! Say YES to the CHALLENGE.
What’s a small decision that you could make today that’s a step in the right direction but it’s going to take a little bit of courage? Whatever it is, do it!
This is from the book titled Learning Leadership: The Five Fundamentals of Becoming an Exemplary Leader
Episode #621: Eleanor Roosevelt once said “You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you stop, and you really stop, and you look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along. You must do the thing that you think you cannot do.”
Courage is actually much more prevalent than we think it is. It’s something that every person has. Courage may be precious but IT IS NOT RARE. So what can we do to bring that courage from the inside out? Courage is not all about being fearless, is all about being able to CONTROL YOUR FEAR.
This is from the book titled Learning Leadership: The Five Fundamentals of Becoming an Exemplary Leader
