Camille-Kae Torre, DNP, CCRN-N, is a corporate nurse educator for a large health system in Miami, FL. She received her BSN from University of Florida and DNP from Florida International University. She currently holds a Family Nurse Practitioner Certification from American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and Neonatal Certification from American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). She currently serves as an active member in the Education Committee for the Academy of Neonatal Nursing.
Curry Bordelon, DNP, MBA, NNP-BC, CPNP-AC, CNE is an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing. He is the Core Coordinator for the Masters in Nursing Program and maintains an appointment for UAB Hospital. Curry maintains dual board certifications as a Neonatal and Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and he is an active member of the Executive Committee for the Academy of Neonatal Nursing.
Gayle Gillit, MSN, RNC-NIC, C-ELBW, NTMN-C obtained her nursing degree in 1988 from the University of Texas Pan American. A life-long student, she has spent a large part of her adult life either in formal education or pursuing certification. In addition to her current post-nominals, she has certifications as a Neonatal Massage Instructor, Level I Bereavement Facilitator, Resolve through Sharing Bereavement Coordinator, Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor, as well as degrees from the University of Washington, Seattle with a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Anthropology, and from Gonzaga University with a Master of Science in Nursing. She has held many staff and leadership roles in the perinatal, pediatric and hospice specialties and always returns to the NICU bedside where she most enjoys empowering parents.
Stephanie Abbu, DNP, RN, CNML is the Manager for Neonatal Services at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. As a second career nurse, she has over 15 years of health care experience as an RN, assistant manager, manager, and business coordinator. In addition to receiving her DNP from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, she obtained her MSN with a focus on Health Systems Management at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville. Dr. Abbu is a national speaker on topics that explore nursing research, nursing practice and professionalism, mentoring, leadership, and family and patient engagement.

Marlee Crankshaw, DNP, RN, CNML joined the NICU at Monroe Carell Jr Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in 1983 and has stayed with the NICU since that time, serving in a variety of roles: Staff Nurse, Charge Nurse, Case Manager, Manager, Director, Administrative Director. Marlee graduated with her DNP in 2010. She says it’s difficult to choose, but the part of her career has been her favorite is that of Administrative Director. This role has been the most rewarding and most challenging—leading a large group of staff in an ever expanding unit!
NICU Experience from a Parent Perspective by Stacey Skrysak
Stacey Skrysak is an award winning television journalist based in Illinois. She is a mother to a surviving triplet. Her babies were born at 22 weeks' gestational age and two of her children passed away within two months of birth. After an extensive NICU stay and faced with a number of complications along the way, she is lucky to have a happy and healthy 7-year-old today. In 2016, Stacey and her husband founded Triple Heart Foundation, a non-profit charity that provides children’s books and care packages to NICU families across the country. Stacey often shares her story in motivational speaking, and through writing anything from child loss, the NICU experience, infertility and pregnancy after loss.

Tara Wood, DNP, CRNP, NNP-BC is the Coordinator for the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Specialty Track at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing.
Dr. Wood is a two-time alumna of the UAB School of Nursing, earning both her MSN and DNP degrees from UAB. Dr. Wood has provided care to infants and families in the Neonatal ICU for over 16 years. Jeanette Zaichkin, RN, MN, NNP-BC has worked as both a staff nurse and a clinical nurse specialist in Level II and Level III nurseries for more than 30 years. Jeanette has been a consultant to the American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Steering Committee since 1998 and currently serves as editor of the NRP Instructor Toolkit and associate editor of the Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation. Jeanette is also the editor of a book for parents, titled Understanding the NICU.
