On July 21, 2021 Andy Williams Jr. filed suit [against The United States Government] in the Northern District of Illinois, himself as claimant, representing a class composed of Aboriginal, Indigenous, and African people who are imprisoned, and subjected to forced labor. He courageously challenged the status quo that revolved around the prison-labor exception to the Thirteenth Amendment's prohibition of slavery, a provision he argued violated not only the antislavery principle in Section one of the Thirteenth Amendment, but also the First, Fifth, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendments. Williams passion for justice is fueled by his life experience. His brother died from an opioid overdose in 2018. His childhood friend was the shooter in the 2019 mass shooting in his Aurora, Illinois at Henry Pratt. Williams campaign represents a movement that seeks to bring the government back to its roots, serving as a protector of our unalienable rights. His vision extends beyond partisanship, aiming for a government that transcends divisions and works for the common good of all American people. It’s time for a new government, one that truly represents the spirit and aspirations of a political body of people.
Bruce Bryan was wrongfully incarcerated at the age of 23 and went on to spend 29 long years in maximum-security prison in New York State.
As a result of a corrupt prosecutor who consistently bribed witnesses, and simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time, Bruce was handed down a life sentence for a crime he did not commit.
With a deep belief that prison was not where he was supposed to be, a fierce sense of hope and trust in a higher power, Bruce made the decision to let time serve him. Bruce viewed his sentence as time given, not time taken, and maintains that time is the most precious resource that we have.
From the outset, Bruce was committed to ensuring he didn’t become hardened by the cold and often violent harshness of the prison system, which more often than not, results in inmates returning back inside its walls, after periods of prolonged separation from humanity.Thus, embarking his journey of transforming his life by pursuing higher education, reading broadly, and exploring as many self-development opportunities as were available to him.
Bruce Bryan was granted executive clemency by New York State Governor Kathy Hochul December 2022. He was released from custody April 24, 2023. He is currently fighting for full exoneration and a declaration of innocence. Bruce became the first client of the Perlmutter Center. Attorney Josh Dubin continues to represent him. The re-review of his case is in progress by the Queens County District Attorney’s Office Conviction Integrity Unit.
Since being released, Mr. Bryan has spoken at numerous events, including an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience. Mr. Bryan has attended the French Embassy in support of ending the death penalty and supporting the release of wrongfully convicted death row prisoner, Keith Lamar. Mr. Bryan is passionate about bringing awareness and empowering others through his message of hope, resilience and a commitment to the never-ending journey of self-improvement.
Bruce is currently employed as a Senior Client Advocate at the Queens Defenders. Bruce works with a team of skilled attorneys that handle cases across a broad spectrum, ranging from misdemeanors to major trials and homicides. His work encompasses getting involved with clients and advocating for alternatives to incarceration. The goal is to engage in decarceration and limit the impact of a criminal record on employment, housing, education, and public benefits.

Beth graduated from University of MD Baltimore County in 1992 with a double major in Social Work and Sociology. She received her Masters in Social Work in 2007 from Salisbury University. Beth has worked with several populations including the homeless, adolescents at risk of being placed in detention centers, child protection as a case manager and child abuse investigator and international adoptions. She transitioned to therapy in 2014 beginning in an inpatient adolescent psychiatric hospital and then to her current position in an outpatient mental health clinic. She also has extensive training in trauma focused therapy, Eye Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Beth became involved in social justice and prison reform while working with several men who after being released from prison were struggling after their release, they described trauma before and during prison and how that impacted them being successful upon release. Meet Mrs. Arika Rodriguez, a Georgia advocate whose husband is currently incarcerated. Arika’s husband is currently in need of substance abuse treatment. She shares their story of being arrested on conspiracy charges and her being detained while pregnant. Arika’s husband has been incarcerated since the age of 15 yrs old, he was released for 2 months and incarcerated again. She is also the daughter of a man who was formerly incarcerated and passed away in 2016 from an overdose. These experiences led her to advocacy. Meet Baltimore home town hero Mrs. Nicole Hanson-Mundell.
This powerhouse is an expert on criminal justice policy and re-entry in Maryland. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Out for Justice, a member-led nonprofit organization for returning citizens working to reform local and statewide reentry policies. Nicole leads Out for Justice by advancing its mission to engage, educate and empower those with criminal records to lead the change they want to see. In this role, she has organized large-scale expungement events and clinics, registered returning citizens to vote, supported high-risk individuals in navigating life after release, and collaborated with Morgan State University to conduct a re-entry health needs assessment research project in Baltimore City.

This Momma Diamond can not take back that fateful night but her beginning and ending will move you to action and tears. Nicole says, God brought me to my knees on May 15, 2015. I stay humble in that reminder and grateful to know that life now is HIS and I must share it with others.
Nicole was sentenced to the Texas Prison(TDCJ) in April 2018. She made her first parole in July 2019, 450 days of confinement.

Labeled “Antifa militant” by Andy Ngo and “quite profound” by Chuck D of Public Enemy, AWKWORD has fought for justice and equality through protest song, political organizing, digital strategy and street journalism for nearly a quarter century. He is a co-founder of TEN DEMANDS, co-creator of Ten For Justice: The Road to Abolition, and founding member of Our United Left.
Raised by an activist mother radicalized during the Civil Rights and Vietnam War eras, AWKWORD converted from troubled graffiti artist and Nazi destroyer — angry and acting out at the world’s injustices — to productive organizer at 16, when he collaborated with the Anti-Defamation League to establish what would become his (predominantly Christian, conservative) high school’s annual Diversity Day. That year, he also created his school’s Holocaust Remembrance Day, and spoke for the first time at the town’s Martin Luther King Day celebration.
At Vassar College, AWKWORD served as co-chair of the Student Activist Union, co-founded the Justice Group, and earned his degree in Sociology, with a focus on the intersections of race and class, the prison industrial complex, and homelessness and the politics of public space.

You know EJ from the successful TV show Naked and Afraid on the Discovery Channel. EJ found himself thrust out on the filming of the Pilot episode of “Naked and Afraid: Terror in Tanzania”, a 21 Day Survival Challenger where where strangers come together for 21 Days completely Naked with one item each and try to survive til extraction. EJ was the 1st Man to complete the Challenge. Seven months later, when three people quit, EJ was joined by Laura Zerra to complete the Challenge in “Naked and Afraid: Man Vs. Amazon,” making EJ the 1st Man to complete the 21 Day Challenge twice. EJ was asked back for the 40 Day Challenge of 6 men and 6 Women in “Naked and Afraid XL” in the Colombian Badlands, making him the Only Man to complete the Challenge three times!
