Over the years, I have come to appreciate how beautiful it is to watch someone chase their dreams. Think of every movie ever, where we obsess over the heroine. All the highs, the lows, the victories that have us crying with the beauty of it all at the end of the story. This week, the heroine of our story is Ego Iwegbu. She went on a journey to chase her dreams, and there were huge successes and some failures and lessons along the way that she chose not to stop her. She took it as an opportunity to grow and become the heroine of her own story.
Today, my friend Ashley joins me to talk about how she planned her wedding during the pandemic and all the crazy challenges she overcame for the best day of her life.

Recently, I was the guest on the wildly podcast called Art Beauty, and the host, Amber Milt, is also the senior director of video for New Beauty Magazine. Now, she is exposed to all the innovative, newest trends out there in beauty. So I thought, you know what? I want to talk about anti-aging beauty secrets. The stuff they do in the offices, the noninvasive procedures. She gets exposed to all these gadgets and gizmos, and I want to know about them. Do they actually work?
She’s tried it all, and she’s had great successes and some epic failures. And she’s going to tell us all about it.
My friend Jennifer King joins me for a conversation about menopause, female hormones and the joys of aging as well as we can. Taboo associations aside, it’s something we need to talk about!

We are kicking off Mental Health Month with a great conversation with Bea Arthur, a clinical therapist and founder of The Difference, the first on-demand therapy service for corporations and communities. Honestly, wonderful should be Bea’s middle name. We speak about how mental health is something that really should be normalized. Getting help, going to a therapist. We also talk about trends on social media because people are speaking very clearly about PTSD, trauma, and weaponized incompetence. Bea gives us some clarity to all these fun terms.
So let’s watch and listen as Bea makes the difference.
Recently, I was invited onto a podcast called Ageless, which is hosted by fashion designer Cynthia Raleigh, and her daughter, Kit Keenan. Now, I have to say, I was charmed by the rapport between them. It was quite lovely. And I got caught up in their down to earth dynamic, which admittedly, was not what I expected.
You see, Cynthia Raleigh has been a staple in the fashion world for decades. And Kit has been in the public eye since she was a kid growing up in the gleaming lights of New York City. So if we were to go by the articles and the gossip columns, it almost appears one dimensional. But there is nothing one dimensional about this mother and daughter duo whose love for one another and drive to grow is awe inspiring.
I don't know about you, but I have been a lifelong fan of Star Wars. So I always love the Fourth of May. And I may or may not have been at a few Comic Cons in my lifetime. And if you know anything about the cosplay community, they are some of the most dynamic and fun people you'll ever meet. But even more so are the 501st Legion. And if you don't know who they are, you really should look them up. The incredible charitable work that they do is one of the reasons that my next guest, who is a lifelong friend of mine, Justin Weiss, chose to join his local fiber first, which is the Empire City Garrison where he dresses up like a stormtrooper. In fact, you might hear a little bit of a muffled audio in the beginning because he is in full costume as a stormtrooper which kind of shows that yes, it's charitable work, but it might be a little bit beyond that too.
Today's episode is in honor of Mother's Day! I couldn't think of anyone better to discuss motherhood than my very own mom. Tune in to hear the wisdom she's learned over the years through her experience raising 11 kids.

Today we're going to talk a little bit about skincare. I happen to have a friend and his name is Reuben Carranza. He is the CEO of Kate Somerville. That happens to be one of my favorite skincare lines! He’s going to give us the scoop of what we should be looking at when a skincare line says they have the right ingredients or their product is clinically proven. What does it really mean? Also what's appropriate for all of us for skincare because we're all still learning.
We’re also going to dive into another passion of theirs, which is giving back to the community. We’ll talk about their affiliation with Foster Nation and Beauty Changes Lives, and how they aim to make a huge difference in the lives of kids that are aging out of the foster care system and have no place to go.
My friend today, Rhonda Moffit, is a gardener extraordinaire! Not everyone has a green thumb, but that’s okay. She shares with us her tips and tricks for gardening newbies, even for urban settings.
On Thursdays, I will be doing a bonus episode where my friends and I will discuss some of our own personal discoveries and opinions on beauty, health and wellness.

One of our great things about Beauty Uncovered is that we're always looking for different ways to find beauty in life, and part of that is a good, healthy financial life. I’ve been obsessed with Tori Dunlap’s podcast, Financial Feminist, for a long time and share it with everyone. On today’s episode, we talk with the creator of Her First $100K about financial freedom, where to start, and the systemic oppression that holds back so many people.
Today, I am talking with my dear friend, Ray Montalvo. We've known each other for many years, and we have been having a continued conversation about something that we both really enjoy and like to make beautiful in our lives: plants. Today, we have a friend of the podcast. It's Sandy. She is telling us about the episode "When Was the Last Time You Checked Your Hormones?" with Dr. Tara Scott, and her experience with it. Subconsciously, it's not hard to start believing that we cannot achieve something due to preconceived ideas of our capabilities. However, I've been seeing more and more people challenging the status quo, embracing who they are, and changing the dialogue. For me, there is real beauty in that. This week's guest, Chellsie Memmel, is an American gymnast and is the third U.S. woman to achieve world all-around gold. She has earned a total of six world medals and helped the U.S. team win the Olympic silver medal by pulling off the performance, despite a broken bone in her ankle. After retiring in her early 20s, she got married, had two beautiful children, and was working. But eight years after her retirement, she decided to train for the U.S. Olympic trials at 32 years of age, in a world where being in your 20s will put you in the category of Geriatrics. Taking that leap at 32 took a strength of character that is powerfully beautiful.
Today, we have a friend of the podcast. Trisha from Alabama iss telling us about the episode "Integrative Wholistic Dentistry" with Dr. Sharon Huang, and has some great stories to share

We are quickly approaching our one-year anniversary since we started this podcast. For this week, I decided to revisit an old episode. By the time we reached out to her, she had a couple of 100,000 followers on social media. Now, she has over a million followers. She was just featured in The New York Times, and Vogue called her the next Carrie Bradshaw. So I hope you enjoy either rewatching or checking it out for the very first time.

Everyone talks about “How do you make your skin beautiful?”, “How do you make your hair beautiful?”, and beautiful is different versions for all of us.
When women look in the mirror, and they're proud of what they see. It isn't about the perfect body or them being beautiful. It's about being the best version of themselves at the time.
I think that anyone, no matter what people look like, when they feel like their best, I like seeing the confidence that comes out of them.
Good, natural, beautiful hair color never goes out of style.
2020 was the year of self-care and taking care of your hair. But, people are gonna want wow moments. People are gonna want to go out and party and look their best.
I think a lot of people want to have some magical new skin thing they use and a lot of these things take time. You have to test things out, see what works for you, have fun with it.
People are craving realness more than ever right now. They want to see themselves in a photo. They want to feel like they connect.
I like to focus on the positive when something bad happens. I'm like, what can you learn here? When I look back, it really wasn't as hard as I thought it was. It made me stronger.
Make sure you have time to yourself, make that a priority. When we're doing those things, it shows in our energy level, our excitement, and our passion for life.
There's filters everywhere, and everyone's editing their pictures. So we all have this idea of what's perfect. It's just unattainable.
