One of the key challenges SMSF trustees can face is staying on top of the transactions within their fund.

Data feeds automate this process and, whilst the term may sound ominous and confusing, it’s simply the process of collecting and reconciling financial data. This saves trustees time and significantly reduces the risk of errors.

In this episode, your host Jessica Griffith talks to special guest Damien Wright, Executive Manager, Supplier Integration at SuperConcepts, to gain a deeper understanding of data feeds and Open Banking in order to optimise SMSF investment strategy.

In this episode Jess speaks with SMSF expert, Graeme Colley, to answer this and look at what it means to satisfy super benefit requirements and the intricacies of doing so.

It is going to be a big year for SMSFs with a number of legislative and budget measures still to be determined in Federal Parliament.

Several decisions are set to be made in Federal Parliament early in 2021 after they were left hanging when Federal Parliament broke over the Christmas holiday period. These included the Bring-Forward Rule for Non-Concessional Contributions, extending the number of members from four to six, Shutting down eligible rollover schemes as well as items that are yet to be legislated including removal of the actuarial certificate requirements for SMSFs that are 100% in pension phase with disregarded small fund assets and allowances to use the unsegregated method where an SMSF has 100% segregated assets for part of a financial year. What will be the outcomes?

Join Philip La Greca and Graeme Colley and Nicholas Ali as they explore these legislative and budget changes and what might happen with them in the future.
